Ultimate Xbox/PC Controllers- Microsoft Elite Series 2 vs Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Ultimate Xbox/PC Controllers- Microsoft Elite Series 2 vs Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro”.
What’S up folks how’s it going! This watch hope you guys are all doing well and today we’re going to be doing a head-to-head comparison between two of my favorite pc, slash, xbox controllers that are out there right now. I’M talking about the thrustmaster e-swap x pro, as well as the xbox elite series, 2 controller from microsoft. Now, if you haven’t seen our overview of the thrustmaster e-swap x, pro controller definitely make sure to do so. You can find that video either by clicking on the card or going down in the description down below, but essentially it’s a fully modular system that allows you to change. The thumb sticks and d-pad configuration to either an asymmetrical xbox style, one or a more parallel playstation style configuration beyond that. Like the elite controller, you can change the actual tips of the thumbsticks, whether you want a more convex or concave style surface, and you can even swap out the side grips which are magnetically attaching, as well as the triggers for different textures or color combinations. Furthermore, you can even swap out the individual modules for specific games. The thrustmaster right now has a button specifically designed for fighting games, but there might be more future applications for different modules that allows you more specific functionality based on your playing style and preferences. Lastly, one other thing i liked about the e-swap x pro controller is that it has dedicated mute as well as volume buttons for your headset. You can obviously program those and remap them to any of the specific paddle buttons on the back of the elite controller, but you don’t have those dedicated buttons on the controller itself. Now the microsoft xbox elite series, 2 controller – has been out for more than a year. Now – and it is the most premium xbox pc controller – that you can get it costs around 180 dollars versus the thrustmaster is around 160 dollars. Now, given that 20 difference, you are still getting a full wireless bluetooth, enabled controller that will work on multiple different platforms, including pc, mac, android ios, which is really cool, especially on the mobile front, where you can pair this thing up with game streaming.

Services such as project, xcloud stadia or even uh steam, or really any other mobile gaming platform that allows you to utilize a bluetooth controller like this and in terms of the core differences coming from the original elite controller to the series 2. Microsoft has definitely done a lot of work to make this thing. The ultimate xbox controller.

Firstly, you can adjust the tension of the thumb sticks themselves up to three levels from loose to kind of tight. Interestingly, uh thrust masters original e-swap controller thumbsticks were actually kind of loose feeling and they’ve increased the tension of those thumbstick modules by up to 33 percent. But, unlike the microsoft controller, you can actually manually adjust the tension on the thumbsticks themselves.

Furthermore, both controllers have trigger catch settings where you can control the range of motion or distance of how far your triggers are actually going to travel through, there’s. Actually, three individual settings both left right on the series, two elite controller, where you can get full range of motion to medium range to super short, fast, recoil action for rapid fire hair trigger mode. On the other hand, the thrust master has two catch settings either.

Full range of motion or half range of motion, so the microsoft elite controller, does give you more options in terms of fine-tuning your trigger travel distance. Furthermore, both controllers have four rear facing buttons, which can be remapped to really any control that you find on the front of the controllers. On the elite series 2 controller, you find that these buttons are actually paddles, which are definitely a little bit more ergonomically friendly than the smaller buttons on the thrust. Master e-swap x pro controller, which are kind of angled out, but are definitely smaller and more cumbersome to reach, especially during the times when the front portion of your hand is occupied by the controls at the top portion of the controller. Now, in terms of the tactile feel of the buttons themselves, let’s start with the abx y buttons they’re, definitely more clicky or mechanical.

Like feeling on the thrust master, you can hear a nice satisfying click when you initiate a button command now on the elite side. The abx y buttons are definitely softer and a little bit more dampened and, although some might like the soft touch feel of the xbox controller, i prefer a more faster kind of clickier mechanical style, abxy buttons, which are more closely found on the thrustmaster controller. Now one thing is for sure: i think most people will prefer the feel of the d-pad on the elite series 2 controller. It feels a lot more sturdier stable and has more travel distance between all the extreme edges, and it definitely feels more refined and higher quality than the d-pad module that we find on the thrustmaster side.

Furthermore, the series 2 elite controller also has highly dampened bumpers, as well as triggers very satisfying to use and bring a level of quality and premium build quality. That’S really not found when you click the bumpers or the triggers on the thrustmaster controller, which feel a little bit more plastic here and generally less satisfying to use. Furthermore, regarding the shape and overall comfort of each controller, i do have to say that the elite series 2 wins over here as well. The shape of the controller is near perfect. That’S probably why microsoft hasn’t really messed with the shave, for god knows how many years now and they’ve also improved the rubberized textured finish on the controller side grips, and it definitely feels very sturdy in the hand. It has a adequate amount of ventilation where, even if you get a little sweaty, it won’t really affect your performance too much and very, very comfortable to use for a prolonged period of time.

Now i don’t have any major complaints over the shape and overall comfort level of the eswab x pro controller. In fact, i think the design is fairly neutral enough that i’ll satisfy most people out there, but in terms of the uh comfort level compared to the xbox elite series. 2 controller doesn’t have that sensation that it’s being melted directly into your hand where it’s a perfect fit and with the slick, semi-gloss plastic surface, it definitely doesn’t have the same level of grip that you find on the elite controller and also the side grips are not Very grippy, as well they’re more there for aesthetics than really anything else at this point, so in terms of the comfort level overall shape, i do definitely prefer the microsoft elite series – 2 controller.

In fact, it feels pretty much identical to the standard xbox series – s or x controller, with the exception that you can customize the controller a lot more and it has the enhanced grippy textured surface – that’s not found on the standard, microsoft controller. That being said, i’m still a huge fan of the swap x pro controller in terms of the modular capability. It’S certainly the most customizable controller.

That’S out there on the market right now and if you’re, looking for a flexible wired game pad for competitive gaming environments, that has a lot of customization features and a lot of room to grow. It’S definitely an option worth looking into. If you want more information about both these products check out the description down below for more details on that now, we’re also going to be having an ultimate uh controller showdown in in the future.

Very, very soon, i’m working on the video right now talking about uh, possibly the best controller on both the playstation xbox and pc side to see which gamepad for 2021 is the ultimate one. So definitely make sure you’re subscribed to the website. Have post notifications turned on and we’ll see you real soon in the next one. Take care, and thanks for your support, .
