Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “You need to see this! Home Tech 2024!”.
Portion of this video is sponsored by iper, CS kind of has reputation for showing like technology, it’s like 30 years in the future uh this year, I’ve gotten more into home Tech and sort of adding more stuff to my house. So I walked the show floor to find the best Home Tech. That’S like actually real things that you can buy either now or super soon. Listen, I’m known to enjoy a beer every now and then I stay far away from kombucha, but I do like cider. If you like any of those drinks, maybe you wanted to try to like make it yourself meet exob.
So this is a home, bring technology that can Brew 1.6 gallon batches in 3 to 30 days, depending on what you are doing, it looks really cool and they’ll. Take a lot of the guest work out for you: they’ll send you brew kits with all the Hops. If you want to make some beer and there kind of a home brew, sorry for the pun, uh Community, with over 13,000 recipes uh – that you can make with the EXO, we had a chance to try it tasted, really good. It’S kind of a fun thing. I think to do in your house.
I don’t think it’s going to save you any money from going out and buying your own bch uh, or anything like that. I didn’t expect it to ship, though uh in 2024. This is cold snap.
I best way I can describe it is like cure egg for ice cream. You can make your own soft serve ice cream uh at home, which is cool. So this is how the story goes.
The founder says he gave his daughter a blank notebook to write down invention, ideas daily, and she came up with the idea of having an ice cream machine in the house. It’S got these big cans and they’re safe to store in a pantry. You put it in the machine snap it down and you’ve got ice cream coming out it.
Tasted delicious it didn’t taste like weird chemically, come from a can ice cream. Probably the best part of this whole thing is that, like there’s no cleanup here at all, it’s like it’s clean, you just take out the can and you’re done. It was a really cool use of technology and a product that’s like actually coming meet. The barota be mine. This is interesting. I’Ve been pretty public about someone who struggled with anxiety.
This is weird: it’s a personalized mental healthing coach based on mood identification and it’s going to help you kind of incorporate, mindful practices into sort of the daily routines or even help curve feelings of loneliness through immersive experience, using light and sound and visuals un. Like most things here at CS, going to use AI to interpret Expressions, gestures and language, even give you things like food recommendations, weather notifications, it’s got a really cool, touchless interface. It’S running what they’re calling K OS. We don’t have an ETA on shipping, but it should be coming soonish if you want to check it out, we’ll have a link to it down below so there’s a ton of Technology here at CS, obviously for all kinds of stuff for the house outside the house And my house, the favorite thing that I’ve got is a pool we just finished building it last year.
I love it. My kids love it. We were in it like 3 days a week like anything outside it kind of tends to get gross. Looking no matter how much you try to clean it, but fortunately there is a technology solution like every other problem. To take care of that enter this video sponsor iper.
I check out their Booth here, which is nuts they got pools. They got mermaid, they got live fans going on and showcasing their latest technology that can clean the bottom of my pool, the top of my pool and also take care of the yard as well. So if you’re going do something in the water, you got to pick a good name.
So AP picked one that everybody’s going to remember. It’S a scuba line so there’s the scuba S1 scuba S1 Pro and the Big Daddy, the scuba N1 Ultra. There’S a ton of cool things that AP is doing first of all, they’re bringing a ton of Technology at really affordable prices, especially when you compare it to the competition. But if you just like, I don’t know like look at these things, uh they’ve got tank treads on the side, they’re actually called caterpillar Treads, and they can actually climb up the sides of your pool they’re, calling it wall cleaning capability.
So, instead of just not just climbing they’ll actually clean it as well. All all the stuff you’d expect is here plus a bunch. More you’ve got infrared for obstacle avoidance. They also have optional solar panels. It’S going to connect directly to the cleaner, a lot of the problems with some of these pool cleaners is that they’re great, but the batteries will die quickly.
You don’t have to worry about there with apier have a solar panel. It can literally just live in your pool and keep cleaning, but if you don’t want up for the solar panel, you’ve got a really solid battery too. You got a 7,800 Milah battery in the scuba S1 Pro it’s going to about 4 hours of cleaning time about 180 minutes of total battery life.
When you’re done you can just plug it in and if you’re worried about the top of the pool too. Ap also has the surfer S1. It’S going to skim the top of your pool, go to all those leaves and debris that kind of float on the top and again the solar panels will work there as well.
So there’s a lot of competition in this space. What ap’s doing to separate themselves is bringing incredible technology, really novel use of the cleaners themselves and bringing them at a really affordable price point. Ap’S already got your pool on lock down uh they’re, also looking to take over your lawn uh with the horizon in U1.
That they coming later this year, it is a lawn cleaning robot that does all the great things that the pool cleaning robot does uh. But for your La it’s bring a lot of features that reserves that usually really high price points to much more affordable options. If you want to learn more check out hyper for yourselves all the links you need are down below, so this one, it may not be the most practical, but it looked incredible. Uh meet m board gen 2.0, like a lot of smart home things. This one is matter enabled uh it’s a SM hub for the home, but it’s done in wood and looks like a piece of wood. It gives you really a minimalist touch.
Control lets you control all of your things. I have kids. I like that the kids can walk up to it and kind of draw on it.
I like that I can send messages, while I’m traveling, like here in Vegas, uh and it’ll, go to the board for them and it’ll control all devices that you have connected through. It it’s just kind of intrinsically comforting, it’s kind of a natural wood, interface uh and it kind of Blends into the background. It was more of like a calming technology philosophy, and here where a lot of technology is very in yourr face this one just seemed a bit more relaxing.
If you didn’t know what it was, you just think you had kind of a cool piece of wood up on your wall. I, like sort of seeing something different powering. This is the appropriately named calm youi, and it’s going to prompt information to appear on the screen when you need it, I thought that was really cool, I’m being able to send and receive handwritten messages from my family when I’m about uh when I’m out and about Is just a a really cool thing in my house, I have a lot of different Smart Home Products.
Um I’ve got stuff from Apple, Amazon and Google, and I know that matter is supposed to kind of unite all of those platforms, but doesn’t really do much for things that already exist. I’Ve tried to bring all those things into one app with some home brew or a Hoops box uh, but alliver IQ is trying to unite all the connected devices in your home in a single, app and they’ve done it in a really intuitive way. It’S a matter compatible Hub.
That’S going to hook up to your router, then communicate with all of your devices and let you do everything and see everything. It’Ll give you even home automation, ideas based on the devices that you have connected to the app it’s going to recommend different ideas to automate your home uh. It is really cool what it does and is a very clean UI.
It looks a lot like the Apple home app and has like all of your things in there. You could set up all of your automations control everything just in one place, instead of having to go to different apps. The one thing that I didn’t love about.
It was there’s a subscription fee, but you do get 24/7 support. If you need it, the pricing wasn’t yet available, but they did a really nice job. The UI looked really clean and if you don’t want to set up a home brew system for yourself, it seemed like a really plug-and-play way to get all of sort of your home stuff in one simple, app out of all the tech here. That was kind of the stuff at CES, for my house that I was most excited about some of the stuff was in your face.
Some of the stuff was a bit more sort of hidden integrated to the background. Some of it’s about trying to make me a better, more well adjusted a person, but all of it was really cool and I’m pretty excited to try all of it. Hopefully, one day in my house, .
