Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “WOW! Samsung Galaxy Note 2 VS HTC One X FULL REVIEW”.
Okay, hi youtube: it’s going to be a review and comparison with the htc one x of the samsung galaxy. Note. 2, so i mean just for a size comparison. Let’S get that over here, and here we have the note 2 and it’s big. It’S huge. You know this phone is a mammoth and you know we may have said to ourselves when the samsung galaxy s2 came out, that that was a massive screen. You know a lot of people did say it’s the perfect screen size.
You know any bigger would be totally totally unusable. Well, hc1x certainly proved that them wrong, and now here we have the samsung galaxy note 2, which is definitely treading on a very fine line between phone and tablet, but from the from the two or three hours i’ve spent with it, my god, i’ve been impressed. Let’S start with we’ll um we’ll have a look at a benchmark just to show you where we’re at with these two smartphones um.
The hc-1x was released earlier this year somewhere around may and the note 2 has been released in october. So much more recent we’ll see if that’s made a difference, but they are still in the same kind of league of smartphone, both high-end. You know fully fledged smartphones from competitive companies, so yeah we’ll see, but as you can see, um, hopefully it’s clear on the camera. The black on this is much blacker than the black on the one x because of the super amoled hd display. You know it’s definitely a much higher contrast level than you’d come to see on the one x or as far as color reproduction would go.
I’D say the the more vivid colors go to the one x, but once you’ve used the 5.5 inch gorgeous screen of the note 2. I really didn’t want to go back to the one x and it did feel small, and you know any of those who have just maybe upgraded to a one x or a similar phone would think. That’S impossible, but really it’s true. It does feel like a tiny phone now and you can imagine my reaction when i use an iphone okay, so here it is hc-1x with a very solid score of 5921, and here we have the note 2, with an even better score of 6374.
So, as you can see, the note 2 is ahead, but as that benchmark would suggest they are. Definitely not. You know it’s not blowing the other one away by any means, but what i would say is: firstly, the samsung has some extra features which i’m going to talk about in a bit and also the fact that i would say also the benchmarks are not totally represented To start with, let’s have a quick look at again, which is modern, combat 3.. Now this is just one of the many examples where the note 2 outperforms the 1x by far – and you know – which would not suggest that it’s merely a few hundred points higher in in quadrant. But you know you can see for yourself so i’ll launch the campaign on and the game looks a lot better on the very spacious screen of the note 2.. This is some funny little black line thing going across, but obviously you can’t see that in person it’s just the camera.
So look at this, so as you can see, the gameplay is not smooth far from it. We’Re running at maybe 20 to 30 frames per. Second, you know i mean it’s it’s decent and it’s playable, but it’s certainly not. You know it’s not nice, not the best experience, and as soon as we go to the note 2, you see that is a much smoother gameplay experience um. You know it feels like it’s playing at a full 60 frames per second, and it does feel and look better just because of the fact that we’re playing on such a huge display. You know your fingers don’t get in the way of what you’re, seeing as it did with the one x, so really really good phone.
If you, if you’re into games like that and even just casual games, things like you, know rayman, if you’re into that, you know they, they both look amazing. So talk about specs on um in the htc one x we have a one gigabyte of ram, whereas in the note 2 we’re actually doubling that with a whopping, two gigabytes of ram, which is highest, that has been seen on any smartphone. On top of that, it’s got the quad core 1.6 gigahertz exynos processor, which is a far more updated version which uses a far more updated arm processor than the one x. Tegra 3, therefore, is more powerful. However, it’s uh it’s becoming quite close to the release of the next gen, a a15 chips and um.
You know they will probably make these ones redundant. But for the time being you know it’s a very strong performer, so you can see. We’Ve got very different.
Um android overlays here we’ve got samsung’s touchwiz on the right and htc’s sense on the left. Now, whichever one you prefer is almost always just down to personal preference, but i would just give my opinion and say that htc sense is more customizable. You know you can change your skin. You can change your theme, there’s a lot more tweaking involved, whereas samsung is focused on being very simple and very slick. So i mean that’s just a very quick summary, but you know the samsung is very, very smooth and i’m sorry is the htc, but the focus on samsung is um. Focus with samsung’s.
Touchwiz is just simple and effective, rather than just overly sort of personalizable. If you say that so now, let’s just have a quick look at browsing performance, so we’ll use the stock browsers on both phones and i’m just going to start by saying the note 2 is fast uh. What are we doing so we’ll um we’ll visit apple’s website as per usual i’ll, just uh go here and take a look there. So the um, the note 2, as you saw loaded loaded, a bit faster, not significantly, but they were both very, very quick.
So i’ll. Just click on the links and again there’s loads and loads of high resolution pictures on this page so as you would expect not the fastest loading, but still both low phones load very quickly and work very smoothly. There is a slight um feel of snappiness, which is greater than that in in the 1x. So you know the the pinch to zoom just feels a lot more um, snappy and also you’ll notice that we don’t. We don’t lose some of our web page when we zoom in as we do with the one x, so i mean if we just zoom out again so you’ve lost it, whereas with the note 2, that’s not as much of an issue, you know you can. Quite happily, zoom in and zoom out, and you still got most of the page. So to conclude, i would just say if you currently own a 1x, it’s probably not worth upgrading because um, you know the the galaxy note 2 is on the same kind of level. In terms of performance, you know they’re both very powerful phones, both rocking quad, core processors, powerful graphics, etc and and gorgeous screens, not to mention so um. If you are planning on buying a new smartphone and you’ve got fairly big hands. I cannot recommend the note 2. More, i mean i’ll just give you a very quick demo of how it’s s, pen works. So this is no normal stylus um.
This pen has quite a lot of functionality. I mean to start with it’s interactive, which means that you know your phone realizes when you take it out and actually interacts with it. So when you’re hovering over the screen, i’m not actually touching the screen here but, as you can maybe see, the phone does recognize that i’m hovering over the screen. So you know it’s almost like it’s like a mouse in a way and it’s very very sensitive.
It’S pressure sensitive, so you know i can i can. I can do what i want, but, as you can see, look um. It’S i’m only hovering over the phone, but it can see where i’m hovering over very very cool, no idea how they do it. And if you want to rub out, you can just tap this button on the stylus and um. You can just rub so really really cool um, it’s great for people who are into art and that kind of thing you know do some cracking cracking bits of drawing it’s very easy to use as well. Don’T ask me what i’m doing here. You know just a bird kind of thing, no idea, but you know it’s a really really responsive and interesting. Alternative input, method which works really effectively and also the camera on both phones is fantastic. But it’s going to be difficult to give you a demo here. So that’s it thanks for watching rate subscribe comment like and look up my other reviews. .
