I’Ve been doing tech news for seven years now. And I swear. If I see one more tech story, I’m gon na tell you about it. Gladly Dealing with popups from antivirus bloatware, like McAfee on new laptops, is annoying., But if you’re involved in the US election, it might actually be dangerous to something other than your own mental health.. A new report from Google indicates that a Chinese hacker group, dubbed APT31, has been impersonating McAfee employees with the goal of infiltrating computers used by campaign. Workers. APT31 used phishing tactics to try and get staffers to install McAfee products from GitHub instead of the official McAfee website which to be fair, just as sketchy, if not more., And these downloads also contain malware, which could be invisible to the end user. Google says this Is part of a larger trend of government backed malware attacks which have increased as 2020 has gone on. The upcoming presidential election in the US is no doubt a huge impetus for these attacks., And here I was thinking attack ads were the worst part of election.

Season. Ha Not this year. This is the hell year. Everything’s worse. [ Guy ]. It’S only gon na get worse. Just you wait., Although the big news recently in the world of wireless charging has been out, Apple is bringing back MagSafe.

All the wireless charging enthusiasts are talking about it., Don’t sleep on Xiaomi.. Today they unveiled a wireless charger that can deliver 80 Watts, which is more than the power bricks for a lot of mainstream laptops. [ Guy ]. That’S a lot of Watts! Wow! That’S a lot of Watts. Marty Xiaomi claims that its new product can wirelessly charge a 4,000 milliamp hour battery in just 19 minutes, as well as get from zero to 50 in less than nine minutes, which would be quite impressive indeed., Although there are faster charging solutions around.

This appears to be the fastest wireless one. Yet, although we’re not yet sure exactly when it’s going to hit the market. In the meantime remember to plug your phone in before you pass out just in case when it hits the mark when it hits the market and then you’re gon na pass out., That’s Guy. We love you Guy.

Cruise, which is owned by General Motors, has gotten a permit from the California DMV to put up to five driverless cars on the road for use as taxis.. In this case, their Chevy Bolts that have been modified to run autonomously..

It’S not the first driverless car pilot in the US, but San Francisco streets are notoriously busy., So it’ll be interesting to see how the cars perform. The test, — [ Guy ] them go. Uphill.

Some Model 3 owners are getting premium options like satellite maps, live traffic and streaming music without paying for Tesla’s premium connectivity package. It’s possible that this might only be available to drivers in Canada. Yes, finally, we get something that the US might be missing out. On..
