Why Your Attention is Valuable

Why Your Attention is Valuable

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Why Your Attention is Valuable”.
One of the biggest improvements I’ve done for myself over the last little while is to try to disconnect from that stuff significantly more, and it’s like it actually made like a very noticeable impact life’s like a little bit more chill when you’re just like. Actually, no I’m not going to consume this Media or information or Newsfeed or whatever it’s just like no I’ll chill. I’M trying to do more of those like you know the classic, like uh, you have to wait in this area, so you just start like reading the signs or whatever I try to do that a little bit more. Oh just like no like what I would have done, however long ago is go to my Google news, feed and just start scrolling through stuff or whatever and I’ll still do it sometimes, but I try to like consciously be like no, I just I can. I can stay out for now um, my Google news feed is um.

Where is because and the the way that I described it in a conversation I had recently was there’s a a multi-billion dollar industry that is based around just dominating your mind and getting you to do this thing. That is good for various companies. The corporations man but yeah to a certain degree but like actually, though yeah, so you should consider that and not just play into it 100 % of the time. Um – and you know – maybe you want to play into it – sometimes because it tickles your little gooey brain um, but I think sometimes you should fight against it.

A little bit mine’s, not too bad. I definitely get too much American politics yeah um, something something Oval Office recordings. Uh unify RGB lighting, uh, something something impeachment Intel unveils AI chip to compete with Nvidia 8 channel memory on WRX. Whatever is faster, uh seate has a hard drive, that’s not supposed to exist! Linux patch drop support for 17-year-old Intel thing, uh, Auto spill, credential leak and Android password managers test the Cyber truck crumple zones, PC memories, about to double in capacity sales of BC homes.

You can really tell what I what I pay attention to, and I’ve talked to you about this before but like. I think that, with a little bit of discipline, we can create Google news feed like I have had to. I think it takes a lot of discipline. Personally, but I have had to try cuz every once in a while they’ll try and get me back into it, and I have tried very hard to not click on anything Star Wars, because it usually just annoys me and is just like some stupid nonsense. Ai written article or whatever, so it usually just sucks anyway, um and it gives me it gives me no satisfaction, it doesn’t help me at work. It doesn’t help me in my personal life, whereas most of my stuff is pretty Tech. These days, chip sacked uh steam trolls cheaters ryzen 8000g Nvidia CEO at at an all hands meeting Intel launches core Ultra 3D printer pneumat pneumatic actuator. Like I it’s hard, I think I broke mine uh at one point in time.

Why Your Attention is Valuable

I decided that the way I wanted to train it was to just tell it all the times that I didn’t like something or didn’t want to see something. Oh, I never do that yeah. That was bad. You should not do that by the way.

Why Your Attention is Valuable

No because it doesn’t know what you don’t like about it, yeah and – and I think also it will see that you don’t like all of these things and just start guessing really sporadically MH. So like at one point I showed I showed Emma this. I think I’ve talked to you about it at one point in time it decided that I was interested in some country singer. I had never heard of I never clicked on any of them and for at least a week it was every second article was just like this is the shirt they wore like just anything.

It could possibly think of of this. Like one person I had never heard of before it’s amazing: how quickly can you led astray? I clicked on one stupid thing about Megan Markle at one point: okay and all of a sudden like half my feed was just like, like whoa you’re, really into this huh, Kate, Middleton and Harry Styles or whatever. The other Harry is no sorry he’s a singer. It doesn’t matter, the point is uh yeah.

Why Your Attention is Valuable

It was just full of that and then another really funny one was I um. I was looking for a behind the scenes of something and I searched for it, and I was like oh BTS has a totally different meaning now because of the the Korean mega mega band right um group: are they a band? Do they play instrument? I don’t know it doesn’t matter. The point is Jim’s the best. I guess or something.

Oh boy. Oh, what’s you’re Jim cool um, the uh? The point is I I clicked one cuz. I was like Curious. I was like oh yeah, okay and then oh man, oh man like like every time, one of the every time, one of them farted there was a Google news alert for it. I was like what even is this: they changed. Their shirt like this is their favorite color.

Like I don’t care yeah. I was idly curious. Oh man, oh anyway, he was trying to get me.

He really emphasized the. If one of them farted, then I was drinking water. I’M going to get you I’m going to get you like Shia Twain.

I, like I like, felt it coming and was like no he’s going to say something I got bra. I should have gotten with queefed or something I would have gotten you with. That.

Probably he’s de oh boy um any. What are we supposed to be talking about? We, we were talking about no yeah. We, we were technically on the topic of you, can’t check who’s monetized on YouTube anymore, and we somehow got here.
