2020 has been rough, but gadgets are good to us. So what do you got? My favorite gadget 2020 is. I think you can see it right there. It’S a big boy. This is my kid. I don’t buy as many gadgets as a lot of people at the verge, but this is a good one guilty very guilty.
We have covered over a hundred products on the channel alone in 2020 and there’s countless more reviews over on the site. But there’s always a few gadgets that we hold near and dear to our hearts. So today i’m asking the verge staff: what is your favorite gadget of 2020? My favorite gadget 2020.
Is this little guy right here? This is the iphone 12 mini. This is the size of phone like this feels right in my hand, it looks right in your hand, okay, so down to the color. Is this your favorite color as well? Now the colors, whatever here’s, the thing that i’ve accepted in my heart, i’m gon na, buy somewhere between two and four phones a year. This thing where every phone company has a different color of phone.
That’S like their color for the year. I just accepted yeah i’ll, get that color and so like next year, i’ll have a different, color and it’ll be fine. Is it just about its size, or is there other things that you also love about it? The thing that i love about it is that you get this small size without compromising anything but battery life. You get the good cameras, you get good screen resolution you get fast, you know, processor, you get all the stuff you want out of an iphone. It’S just in a small size. I don’t know if gadgets were just like pretty good this year or it’s just the fact that we constantly need to escape reality.
No, the gadgets were really good this year. I’M writing an end to your article. The titles like the gadgets are good this year, because they’ve been really good. They’Ve been really good and i have so many boxes that i actually those aren’t good. The boxes aren’t good yeah wow. If i had to pick like one just off the top of my head, it’s uh, it’s this bad boy, the the playstation 5., oh yeah, yeah. I knew this was going to come into my day at some point. The playstation 5 is one of the newest consoles. It’S really hard to get one of these things, but one of my favorite things about the console is actually the controller, the dual sense. Now this is one of the most innovative controllers.
I have used in a long time the haptic feedback technologies and how it creates. Just a massive immersion in a lot of the games, i found myself playing my ps5 more than my xbox series x. I’Ve had both of them since launch day. I’Ve only played my xbox series x like three times, whereas on my ps5, i’ve played almost every single day, so basically, when you’re not working you’re playing your ps5, basically the oculus quest 2.. I cover vr a lot, and this is the first time that i’ve had a vr headset that i actually want to put on no way it’s fun.
I know that there’s a lot of people out there who are like, i still don’t get vr. I can never see myself using that. Tell me what makes you want to put this on the oculus quest 2.
The thing that makes it kind of unique is that it is a fully self-contained headset. So it’s this is everything there is of it and these controllers – and you just put it on and you play it. Oh yeah, that’s the other good thing about it is yeah. I tricked this out.
This is not the default head. Strap it’s much much better, like you should. If you’re buying an oculus quest 2, you really need to get this other head strap. When did you realize that you loved this piece of tech? I think it was the point at which i realized that i was putting this on for fun and i kind of wanted to do it every day.
There was just this moment where i was like. Oh, this is actually a thing. That’S kind of part of my life now the way that a game console will be that’s really cool, okay, but watching addie play beat. Saber is actually incredible, like she’s she’s, actually incredible at this game, ashley carmen.
How are you i’m good? This is my room where i sleep and work and eat and live you’ve got a gadget that you love yeah. So for the past couple months i’ve been testing out the bike plus from peloton. I think you could see it. Oh there.
It is poking out of the corner like a creep. Take us to it. This is our little weights room. We have oh, my gosh. Look at this beast. Do you see how this is moving yep and then i can also turn it. This is quite the apparatus. Do you have a favorite instructor? We won’t tell them.
I literally have dms. Then when i was like hi from a bike ride, i was like you’re the best his name’s ben. He does the best music. He does these house playlists and i love it. So i’m clipping in. Why are you in jeans right now? I wasn’t prepared. Oh my gosh you’re, killing it wow. This is a real gadget.
This is like a real like big setup. You have to be committed. It’S huge like yes vogue, my favorite part of making this video has just been making people posed with gadgets 10 out of 10 would recommend nice. I think you’re going to like this.
This is the exercise glow up. It’S been really nice because anytime, i’m stressed, or i just feel like i’ve been cooped up for too long and just need like a quick, sweat boom boom right there, like it’s, just making me happier it’s giving me it’s making me feel good and i feel, like That’S just a worthwhile thing and i love it again: i’m considering buying it. It is really expensive.
It’S like 2 500 plus you pay for the membership as well. There we go hello hi v. How are you 2020 has been a year, but there’s been a lot of cool gadgets this year, i got ta admit like everything that i tested has been pretty amazing. What have you liked escaping with the most a bunch of stuff, but, as you can probably tell over here, there’s a little drone uh, the dji mini 2 anyways. It’S the little tiny drone that you probably heard about 249 grams, which makes it so you don’t have to actually register with the faa.
I love it. Everyone who’s doing. Video probably knows this, but like you often have back problems and your bag hurt all the time, and i spend a lot of time walking around the city with a lot of gear. Good change for my back, it’s so small.
It has 12 megapixel photos. 4K. 30. Video and photos, look great, video looks amazing, it doesn’t have any sensors, so you got to be careful how you fly it. I actually feel like i’m more adventurous with this thing than with the bigger drone. So how much is it 450? If you buy the fly more combo, it’s 600, but you get two extra batteries couple of props the charging hub the case, and if you do the math, the 600, it makes sense you might as well just get the combo if you’re gon na buy it. Oh no, this is so bad after this video, i’m gon na want a new laptop, a new phone, a new drone. Can you fly it here? No gps signal. Let’S just do it! Oh my gosh yeah! This is a bad idea. Oh it’s so quiet! Oh, my gosh, oh you’re, such a good drone pilot. It’S like mind blowing.
Oh there we go it’s in focus, oh my gosh, it’s so close to the mac wow. This is like number one why i love working at the verge yeah, i’m pretty sad. I’M gon na have to send it back, but i could just i’m just gon na fly it back.

You want me to make a video about this, because i also want a video about this, so that when i buy one i feel a little bit more justified yeah bite the wing bite, the wing. Okay, that’s enough! Here it’s a laptop and you can fold it, and here it’s a tablet. It’S really light, so you can bring it all over the place with you and it’s really powerful. It can do pretty much anything you want it to as long as it’s not like really intense games.
You know other less demanding games you can play like league of legends. You can play overwatch rocket league. Why am i like not believing you it’s it’s completely unbelievable.
It’S the type of thing that if i went back in time to like 2017, i was like something this light is gon na be able to like play overwatch at 60 fps. I just would have been shocked or i would have been like that must cost. Like seven thousand dollars yeah, how much does it cost? Well, there are a bunch of different prices from the 1000 up to the 3 000 range. I think that this model, which is 1649 um and has a regular uh 1920 by 1200 touch screen.
Um is a great model for most people. So how often do you find yourself in tablet mode like, if you’re being a hundred percent honest, what i mostly use talent mode for is for watching stuff like if i want to like sit on my couch? I can just like flip it around and like pull it up like that, what is kind of cool i play the piano, and i will use this until i put my piano music on i’ll put it up on the piano and um it has. It has auto rotates like a real tablet and battery life on this. What’S that, like battery life is pretty good, i averaged about eight hours um in my daily workload.
It’S not necessarily that there’s like one super flashy feature, that’s just like no other laptop has. I think it’s just the combination of everything being really good. You know the it’s so sturdy. The hinge is so sturdy.
The touchpad is so great. The screen is so nice to look at it’s really bright. I have to admit a lot of this was based on your video review. I got some beans.
Oh guilty buds live yes, okay, so controversially, i will say that i don’t think everyone should buy these. I don’t think they’re for everyone, but for, like my specific needs, they’re like absolutely perfect, they take every box because the thing i use them for is cycling. I basically want something that doesn’t have a thing coming down, so it’s not going to get in the way of like the helmet, strap or whatever, and i want something that’s going to be open rather than having that like a little bit of silicone on the end, Because i basically want to be able to hear what’s going on around me. Oh i. I totally hear that i totally hear that. Are they as good as you thought they were going to be the pairing process, isn’t quite as as good.
You have to download samsung’s app, but then honestly, like once that’s done, i haven’t had any pairing issues whatsoever. My favorite thing about them, though, is just the way that they totally like fit in that part of your ear perfectly. That i never knew was a bean shape, but actually is a perfect bean shape. We’Ve been working with beans this entire time. I know we have these little little bean cavities john. Thank you so much.

It’S the insects, sq1 there’s no screens, it literally just shoots instant film and i’m happy to see that fuji went back to the basics with this camera anywho. I hope that you guys are well and we’ll see you in 2021, thanks buds, .
