Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The tech you need in 2022”.
So, tech, much like life and uh, i guess certain movie franchises, come at you fast and furious, and there’s been a lot of new things that have come out over the past few months. So i wanted to gather all of my favorite newish tech together and share with you guys, the stuff that i’ve been using, that i think you guys might not know about all right. So these are sony link buzz. I’M gon na start with a real quick story. I had to do a press brief with sony to introduce link butts to me and the guy i spoke to was one of the lead engineers and he just kept saying the word link butts every time he would talk about it. He’S like these are new headphones link buds and they have open your design link buds, and i thought it was silly at first, but i remembered the name link buds in my head, so now you’re going to as well, but fortunately the name i remembered is a Legit really good product, so these are you guessed. It link, buds and they’re sort of designed for the folks who kind of have like one headphone in one headphone out. You want to hear what’s going around you, but still you know, listen to your true crime. Podcast uh: that’s what link bud is all about it’s kind of a crazy design, there’s a hole built into it.
That goes right into your right into your ear. It’S a really unique design. The audio quality is really good. It’S always not always canceling for music, because you know there’s a big hole, but the microphones will help cancel an outside noise when you’re on a phone call or something link buds.
They do a really nice job, doing sort of all of those things together. They’Re not going to replace your over-the-ear headphones link, buds uh, but they also have a really cool way of interacting with the headphones. Instead of actually tapping a little thing on the link buds, you can actually tap your cheek uh or sort of use. Your use your face as where you go to change volume and tracks that kind of stuff.
It sounds silly link buds uh, but it works incredibly link buds. Well, i love these things. 179. Bucks in the market for new link buds. You should definitely check out the link buttons, i’m doing it too they’re really good, though don’t let the jokes fool: you uh they’re, an awesome design, uh ipx4 water resistant five hour battery life, they’re, pretty cool, spin coffee machine uh. I ordered this back must have been like a year and a half ago and honestly completely forgot that i had ordered it, and then it showed up at my house, so i figured i paid for it, i’m going to try it. This is a weird way to make coffee how that works. It goes inside and then sort of a centrifugal force that gets spun and the water goes in and sort of uses. The pressure to push out through those holes in the pods spin does that, but without the pause and using your own beans, uh it’ll spin, the coffee really fast push your water through it. You get a really cool tasting coffee, um, there’s also like a marketplace where they’ll sell you beans and automatically ship them to that kind of stuff. I use my own coffee. I like that it can make different coffee drinks, you know espressos and that kind of stuff, but also it makes a real cup of coffee which believe it or not.
It’S hard to find on some of these fancy machines. They just make super crazy drinks, but you can’t get just like a normal giant. Mug of coffee, coffee tastes really good. I wish that the watercraft was bigger.
My wife and i are two cups of coffee each in the morning and i’ll make three cups. So i have to fill it up, uh control it completely from your phone, which is awesome to have too so, while i’m upstairs, i can set the coffee to start making. So when i come down, it’s it’s ready for me. It’S a really dope machine takes a while to get, i think, they’re still back order for a while, but if you’re willing to wait, i think the spin coffee machine is a really really cool way to make a cup of joe.
So this is the lark water bottle. They actually sponsored this video uh did. You know – and i didn’t know, uh – that your reusable water bottle uh has more bacteria than your dog’s bowl or your toilet seeds uh, so there’s got ta, be a better way to like drink water, be better for the environment, uh and not drink bacteria. It’S gon na say at very best put you on a toilet for 24 hours straight.
So that’s where the lark water bottle comes into place. It’S going to use nano zero filter technology. It’S got a kind of a long straw with a filter in it. Uh, that’s going to filter out things like lead: heavy metals, chlorine other particulates in your water, so the one filter can do up to 40 gallons, that’s 151 liters of water or essentially, two months of use, which will equal 300 single-use plastic bottles, which is pretty awesome. If you want to get sort of even more purifying uh, they also make something called a purvis cap.
It’S going to use uvc light, it’s actually going to neutralize harmful bacteria and viruses inside of the water itself. It’S a combination of being helpful for the environment. It does its job really well and it worked as advertised. So if you want to check it out, we’ll link to it down below uh, okay, so this one might surprise you in the world of ipads uh, but the samsung tab. S8 ultra is crazy dope and i’m finding myself looking for ways to use it, because i just want to stare and it’s 14.6 inch, oled goodness the samsung display, so you’d expect it to be good.
There’S a lot of stuff i like about it in screen fingerprint reader is definitely one of them. Um dex is really surprisingly good to use as well just sort of it’s going to window your apps, it is expensive and the keyboard accessory is also uh expensive. This is not a cheap item to get and accessories again are not cheap, but if you’re in the market for a really good looking tablet, that’s meant to be used in landscape. This is a great way to go and i think a lot of people don’t consider android tablets if you’re in the apple ecosystem. I think a tablet is actually a great way to break out or separate from an ecosystem. I don’t need my tech messages necessarily on my my tablet, if you’re integrating, if you use a windows, it’ll integrate really cleanly with windows, if you’re using android learn great, really clean with android uh, if you’re on a samsung device, it’ll completely mirror what you’re doing it’s Works just well for everything i love watching movies on it.
I love creating on it. I just any excuse to use this thing. I am. I am all for battery life’s, not great, because it’s crazy thin um.
That’S really the only knock on it. Aside from price. This is the nomad base, one uh, it’s a magsafe charger. It’S actually one of the first that i can remember seeing it’s mfi certified.
So it’s apple’s saying it’s good. It’S real magsafe means it’ll charge up to 15 watts it’ll work with other wireless charging devices too, which is really nice. It’S made out of metal and glass, it’s crazy heavy, so you don’t want somebody to throw this at you um. It’S not gon na move. When you pick up your phone, because you’d expect it’ll charge your phone uh it’ll come in silver or black, you can see both of the options right here. I think nomad makes really high quality products uh. I really do like that. It’S actually mag safe.
Some of these are magsafe esk products that aren’t certified. My phone got really hot. So all that stuff is not a concern here.
Most of the things on this list are not necessary, but the most unnecessary uh of the unnecessary is is my five gig internet that i got at my house and i shared it and i shared some speed tests online. The biggest question i got was why: why would you do that honestly? I just i had the option to do it. I just i wanted to it.
Wasn’T a huge price difference versus the gig service i had before, so i wanted to try it um, i’m not really getting the five gigs unless i’m hardwired into a lot of things, most of the accessories that i have don’t support 6e, which is really what you’re Going to need to get faster than those gig speeds um. So that’s disappointing uh, but i do love, speed, testing and that’s really been the main thing. I’Ve done with my five gig speeds. It’S awesome to have it’s more of a future proof going forward. I did pick up one of the orbee 6e wifi mesh systems, but again nothing. I really have is 6e speed, so i’m not generally getting that what i am getting on wi-fi though um is generally now a solid gig speed up and down, which is awesome.
That’S not what i got before when i had my gig internet with my just wi-fi six mesh system. I got maybe two or three hundred, which is still crazy fast, but now i’m getting faster and again i i know it’s unnecessary. I get it. I just. I wanted to try it so uh, so i did the thing speaking of unnecessary uh, how about mac studio and studio display. I love what apple did with the mac studio, how they made, depending on who you ask either a mac pro mini or a mac mini pro uh.
But this thing is a screaming beast. I love the industrial cube style design. I love the power you can get with the ultra chip in there as somebody who edits and makes their living with speed on computers.
I am all for this thing. I’M also somebody who really liked apple’s old sort of thunderbolt displays that they had so i’m excited to see them kind of get back in the game with the studio display. I think it’s relatively fairly priced what you’re getting from the camera and the display quality, and it’s a really nice combo kind of comparable with these two things with what an imac pro could be.
If we ever see for the apple silicon version. I just really dig these products and i think it’s cool to see apple, go in new directions and sort of bringing new products to the market, and if you don’t need something portable like a macbook pro but so want. The power max looks like an awesome way to go and, depending on who you ask about benchmarks, you’re using the max studio can be more powerful than some versions even of the mac pro that apple’s selling. So that’s pretty dope to me.
So i know i said all these products are unnecessary. Cars aren’t necessary, expensive cars are extra unnecessary, but i i got a lucid air and i love it. I made videos on it, so it’s going to make it on this list, because this is my video um unnecessarily amount of horsepower. 1 111 horsepower unnecessary amount of range, i’m getting about 470 ish miles of range.
I love everything about this car. I think it’s cool. Looking, i love the luxury side of it. I love that it’s full electric.
I love the speed um, i love it. It’S got 360 cameras. It is not perfect. I made a full 40 minute review on the car, including things that i wish could change about it. I love it. The different price versions of it coming out. You’Ve got the lucid air gt, the lucida touring and the lucid air pure. So it’s going to hit different markets. I love the car after driving tesla for eight years. I wanted to try to something different uh and i’m really happy that i went with those there all right, so this guy is probably the most necessary of all the products on this list. This is the mafka mat screen protector for the iphone 13.. So this is a matte screen protector, which is kind of a cool thing, but it also doesn’t have a cutout.
Instead, the face id section isn’t matte, so that lets face id work and also covers the entire screen. So you don’t have sort of a weird ridge around face id and it feels premium. It’S not. It’S super cheap. It’S around eight bucks crazy, easy to install. There are other options as well, some more expensive, some less. This is one that actually courtney, one pointing at uh has on his phone and he really likes to actually edit this video so thumbs up to courtney for sharing this product with us uh. It works, awesome and linked to everything down below so samsung gets 22..
The ultra is a phone that, like you know, i would probably gravitate to because i have a problem, but the regular s22, i think, makes the most sense, no s pen. So if you don’t need that it’s fine you’re getting a flat display, which is a huge plus over the ultra great camera, cheaper price with 7.99, but also i’ve got a lot of incentives for trade-ins there. I haven’t really covered this one too much on the channel. I love the display. I love the cameras, i love the design. I love the battery life. I love pretty much everything about the s22 line and sort of the regular s22 is like the most pure experience with it and for an incredible price you’re getting an incredibly powerful phone. I haven’t talked about a music player like a dedicated music player for a while, probably good reasons but meet stem player.
The first only way to listen to donda 2 and it lets you control the stems of a song, so you can turn off different parts like vocals bass, drums and and more and sort of hear the parts that you want uh. It also has a built-in speaker, which is kind of cool. It’S got bluetooth built in 3.5, millimeter headset jack. You can load your own music onto it.
If you’re not a kanye fan, it’s probably not worth it, but it is a really cool way to listen to music in a new way and it feels a lot more premium than the pictures look alright. So this is an app, it’s called simply piano by joytunes, and i picked this because my kids are using it uh. We have a keyboard at my house. We don’t have a piano but they’ve been wanting to learn an instrument so we’re trying to teach them to play piano, i’m not good enough to teach them. So i started looking for apps that could do it and simply piano has been really good.
The kids absolutely love it, they simplify how to play. They make it into kind of little games. It’S awesome, the app is free, it works on android or ios.
You can pay for more premium lessons and longer lessons something that we have done. But if you want to just try it and it’s free simply piano by joytunes, has been really awesome. Some are unnecessary. Most are extra unnecessary. Some are cool um. Some, maybe are not cool to you, but this stuff that i love that i’ve been using.
