Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are FINALLY here! (Hands-on)”.
Because we’re here they made by Google pixel event and they’ve just announced the pixel at four and the pixel for Excel. Now these funds have been leaked and leaked. You probably know a ton about them, but if you don’t know a lot about them, they’ve got these. Ninety Hertz displays they’ve got Snapdragon 855, we’ve got six gigabytes of RAM and they’ve got batteries that are probably a little bit small.
The battery only regular picks up for is twenty eight hundred million powers and the battery on the XL is thirty. Seven hundred million powers. So the second one, the XL is actually pretty decent.
The small one. The battery is a little bit tiny, so we’re gon na have to see if that actually holds up over the course of a day, and thank goodness there is no notch on this phone. It’S just got a little bit of a chin on the top, but there’s no chin on the bottom of the phone, which is really nice to see here now, of course, the big features of the pixel port are going to be the soli radar chip, that is In the phone that helps with things like face, unlock and also allows you to skip songs on Spotify and interact with other apps, I’m sure Google is probably going to find a lot more use cases of for this phone over time, and they said it will be Updated just very nice to see – and of course the other really awesome thing about pixel phones in general is the camera system. They’Ve got a 16 megapixel regular camera system on the back and they’ve also got an 8 megapixel telephoto camera.
So this is the first pixel that has two cameras on the back of the phone and it doesn’t have a wide-angle camera which kind of sucks, especially considering all the other flagships. This year are coming out with three cameras, but Google things that they do the camera. A lot better than a lot of other competitors anyway, we’ve got a few new features in the camera system right here and actually did an article with Mark Lavoie who actually makes the Google camera about how all these features work so make sure you go over to The website and check it out, one of the features, is the what-you-see-is-what-you-get viewfinder, which means that hdr is always on you’ll, always be able to see hdr in the viewfinder. So now you know if this guy’s going to be exposed. You know if you’re blowing out anything but with a chair plus you shouldn’t be blowing out anything anyway.
So that’s really nice. Another thing is that you’re going to get two new toggles when you actually click on something. So if you click on a subject, you’ll get these two toggles, you get brightness and you get shadows so effectively. You’Re editing the photo before you even take it and that’s something you can’t get on pretty much any other phone out there right now or any other camera out there for that matter, but you’re basically editing the photo before you even take the shot. Now the front facing camera on last year’s pixel 3 was super wide.
You had a super wide. I knew at a regular one on this one there’s only one front-facing camera, but Google said that it’s almost as wide as the super wide camera in the pixel 3. But not quite as wide and that’s going to be, the default mode is going to be the super wide mode, because Google said that a lot of people really really liked that there’s some other things that are nice about the pixel forward pixel for Excel is that They are ip68 water in dust resistance, you’ll be able to take it in the shower with you. If you want to play music or something like that and that they have wireless charging now, unfortunately, you’re still just getting 18 watt wired charging in this phone, so you’re not gon na get any of these superfast charging that you’re getting a lot of other phones.
So I think Google is lagging a little bit behind in that aspect. Now the feeling is actually pretty nice. This Oso orange color is not glossy, it’s actually more of a matte, but it has a smooth finish and you definitely can’t see any fingerprints on that, whereas the black model is glossy and that’s kind of unfortunate, because every single time I picked up that phone, I Just got fingerprints all over it, so I would probably pick up a phone like the Oso orange color. If you want to avoid the fingerprints, but this color is definitely going to be a bit controversial now. Something Google did do that is very up to date with other manufacturers is include a 98 Hertz display, and they also said that the display mate rated this display as an A rating, which is the highest rating that display mate, gives right now. But it’s really nice to have a 90 Hertz display in your phone, because we’ve used phones like the oneplus 70 and the oneplus 7th row.
They also have 90 Hertz displays. It was just so much more fluid now that doesn’t use more battery life. So Google says that they’re dynamically changing what apps are going to use 90 Hertz and they’ll turn it off when you don’t need it.
So, for example, if a video is playing and it’s only playing at 60fps or lower, it’s gon na turn off that 90 Hertz display to save you, some energy. Well, my mic cut out the event, but if you want to order one of these things, you can get the pixel for starting at $ 7.99 for the 64 gigabyte model, which is a little bit low storage for the pressure painting there. But the 128 gigabyte model is going to cost $ 8.99 and if you want to upgrade to the pixel for excel in size, you we’ll be able to get the 64 gigabyte model XL for $ 8.99 and the 128 gigabyte model for $ 9.99 now pre-order started Today, but they will actually be on sale in stores on October 24th.
