Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The Most Amazing Technologies of 2015!”.
What is up guys, mr who’s, the boss here – and this is a slightly different video, where i’m just going to be talking about some future technologies, which i find really really exciting and are nowhere near as far away than you thought they were now. I think very few people would have anticipated a device like this coming out of the doors of lexus, but as soon as they actually uploaded a video about it on their youtube channel, it instantly went viral and last time i checked it had over 8 million views. Now the best bit, this is not a hoax. People have been claiming to be able to have hoverboards for a very long time, but this is the first one that actually works and while on the outside, it may look like a normal skateboard.
I assure you it’s not on the inside. The lexus hoverboard actually has a supercomputer inside of it used to make its very own electromagnetic field, and the smoke you can see coming out of the device is actually liquid nitrogen needed to keep it cool. So clearly, at the minute, this is not going to be replacing anyone’s car, but nonetheless it’s extremely cool to actually see a working model next up drones.
Now these have been around quite a lot for the last 10 years and increasing inconsistency. You might have recently heard about amazon and their kind of interesting attempt to use drones for delivery of packages and that, instead of a one-day delivery, there’ll be an option for a two-hour delivery where a drone will grab the package from the warehouse and drop it outside. Your door now another one i was really impressed with is a device called the lantronix zano.
This is a tiny little drone and basically it can be used to actually fly around and take photos and hd video. It’S actually a little bit sad, i know, but it was intended for the use of selfies, but bear in mind. This is no ordinary drone.
This one can automatically find and avoid obstacles. It can hold its position in the air and know exactly where it is in conjunction with your smart device or your phone or tablet that you’re controlling it with it also comes with a remote, so you can remotely take photos with it. Now, a very, very exciting category right now is audio and you’re. Probably thinking i’ve seen a speaker before you have, but not one like this. This is the phantom speaker by company dvla and it’s pretty revolutionary. This is the only speaker in the whole world to be an analog and digital hybrid and apparently is the best of both worlds. To just give you an idea of how overwhelming this technology is, the phantom speaker is about the size of a large watermelon, yet it can actually produce sound with the power of a speaker 20 times its size. There is 3000 watts of total power output here, according to the company from the way it’s designed, the phantom speaker has zero distortion and the music will feel like it has physical impact.
This is not a speaker. This is an implosive sound center, the internet of things, a term that is often thrown around and misused, and not actually a lot of people understand fully what it means. But if we think of, for example, smartphones, they’ve had a huge revolution in the last six to seven years, an absolute explosion in the number of sort of smartphones produced the technologies available, the speed, the power and their capabilities, but that’s starting to level off. So what is the next big thing? Well, according to a lot of research firms, it is the interaction of devices within your home, creating basically a smart home where everything talks to each other, there’ll be an external hub or maybe even your phone itself and that’ll be sort of the command center and every Device will connect to each other through that and basically they can all communicate to each other.
Send you reminders and make sure that nothing goes wrong. It can help with safety. It can help with convenience and you’ll. Just never forget anything. Next up is 3d printers, and this one in particular the robo 3d. This is the most affordable 3d printer ever created, starting at just 300 for the mainstream consumer 3d printers have been a far-fetched dream, not really considered as something that you can have in your house.
This price and the sort of accessibility of the whole thing means that this is finally becoming a reality and 3d printers could become more of a tool for having a good time and almost like a novelty than just something for industrial purposes. It’S never really going to have the must-have factor of maybe a 2d printer, but i definitely think this could change the whole landscape for diy entrepreneurial projects as well as education.
