Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The FASTEST RAM and 3D laptop screens!”.
We’Re here in asus’s booth at CES 2023, and they have some insane laptops here. Look at this. It’S an OLED display that uses lenticular lenses to create a 3D image. We’Re not even going to look at that one first for the new Asus Zenbook Pro 16x OLED. This thing has gone from quite fast to an absolute monster. They have what is basically hbm here so like in general, not a fan of soldered Ram, but if you’re gon na do it, Asus has done it right.
Look at this so on the old one. You’D have your memory kind of just over here super far away. Look at that. There’S like a whole fingers width right there, but Asus Engineers have spent heaps of time with Intel and the Rams right there look.
It could not physically be closer to the CPU and the results of that are insane. This right here gets up to 7 500 Mega transfers per per second realize how fast that is. I I don’t really, but it says 8.9 times faster right there, so uh.
I think they did a pretty good job. Additionally, they’ve gone from a 30 60 right here up to an RTX 4080.. How? How have they managed to do that? Apparently they were able to pull off that GPU upgrade because of how much space they were able to save with the CPU. That gives you more room for cooling, more room, for you know vram chips just over all the okay look at it. That’S so smart, the design hasn’t changed very much, but honestly, it hasn’t really had to OLED display Ola displays on all of their zenbooks now actually, and we get our little dial thing. This thing is so great in Lightroom it just sort of works like you can be like oh the brightness and it’s brighter, you can click in the middle. I don’t actually know what that does. Video fast forward, right now, apparently, and in order to get that cooling that I was mentioning before look at this – oh so cool this thing even has RGB.
That’S not what I was expecting to see in a professional laptop, but what I was expecting, or at least hoping to see, full-size SD card reader, absolutely love that for photo editing, laptops, headphone microphone, combo Jack, HDMI, 2.1, 2.1, excellent and also USB type. A and two Thunderbolts they did want me to mention, though you can turn off the Unicorn vomit on the keyboard. Also, while we’re here, it feels really good. I’M not surprised it’s the same one that we already saw that felt really good before.
It is pretty interesting, though, to type on like a angled keyboard on a laptop. They just wanted me to mention 2.4 times faster video, editing, 1.7 times faster 3D, rendering not surprising 36, due to a 40 80.. This thing is an absolute beast, but maybe you don’t want something: that’s quite this powerful. Well, we have the Zenbook Pro 14 OLED.
You don’t get the full little dialy Chum, you know over here, but I do appreciate that they added it there and apparently it still works as a trackpad there. Just fine I’ve seen stuff like this before, where it works terribly over something like that, but this tracks really well over that good job, guys now, of course, like all the Zen books, you have the option for one of these beautiful OLED displays, I’m guessing color calibrated From the factory dcip, 300 percent perfect blacks. All of that stuff. Oh that’s, green they’re, noting yes, perfect! This is the one that I would actually want, and it comes with up to a 40 70. now, with a total TDP of 105 Watts. This is probably not going to be a gaming beast, but at the same time it doesn’t need to be, and it is very light 1.65 kilograms.
Apparently – and I believe that it’s very well built too look at this – I’m kind of giving it right now and it’s barely yielding, as is expected, the keyboard’s great, but one thing that you might have noticed: oh wow, that’s pretty gross. I am very sweaty. This is the end of the day. There’S just look at that: oh they have a solution for that too.
This is the all-new Zenbook 14x OLED and on it they have a plasma ceramic coating. Look at this! You just saw how absolutely disgusting – I am nothing, nothing at all. Look it’s the fingerprint rejector. 10. 000.. I love it.
Okay, there we’re starting to get some stuff, as well as the fingerprint rejection abilities of this thing. It comes with a 70 watt hour battery and something this large hot dang. Also you get an RTX 3050 and up to an I9 13900h for the processor. So, even though this is not going to be the most powerful laptop that we’ve looked at today, this is probably the one that I want to put in my backpack.
Most of the time just feels so light and nice and of course, has an OLED display they’ve. Even managed to get pretty good, I O on this thing, despite its size, so USB type, A over on this side, Thunderbolt 4 and other Thunderbolt 4 headphone microphone, combo Jack and HDMI 2.1. 2.1 excellent. Oh, I love that people are finally getting HDMI 2.1 on everything.
You’Ll want to be able to do your 4K TV from your laptop. You can, if you don’t need quite this much performance, though they do have a two in one version. Now it’s only up to an i7, but it does this. It’S one of the ceramic coating too excellent. Oh it does so even if you’re flipping it around all day doesn’t get all that gross and of course we have an OLED display, but we’re finally going to do it guys we’re going to talk about that. Oled display that you all want to see this right here is the CES wow everyone with the tech demo special, it’s the studio book 16 3D OLED.
So they have lenticular lenses in here and by having the horizontal resolution, I don’t know how they do it, but they send the image to one eye and the other by using these cameras up here to track where you’re at so like. If you see I’m moving around, I’m able to see that in 3D the whole time so cool dude, I’m sorry that you can’t see it at all, but you sort of can so if I take this pen right here, they have a little demo set up. So if I pick up this hand right here and move it, you can see it’s sort of coming out of the display right there and for me it looks like it exists right here. It’S so weird, and especially like this is Glasses, free VR. Now this isn’t exclusive to Asus, but the OLED version is, and frankly the OLED versions, so so much better. This is the sort of thing where it gets completely destroyed if you’re using an LCD, because it’s just it doesn’t have the pixel response times that this OLED does.
But here oh pure blocks as well. Now I’m sure what you’re wondering 3D things do they exist for this right now and it’s actually not all that bad. So any 3D model you can just eat into the model viewer and boom. It’S 3D like this. T-Rex is right now because of this they have decided to aim it for the creators of things. So this is like the sort of demo that you have the CEO coming along you’re.
The engineer that’s been working on the part for the last little while it’s not going to look all that impressive and 2D, but you Chuck it in three years, like oh wow. Look at that part also any sort of like 3D video. It just works. A lot of VR games also will work. You just need to make sure that it works with a controller because, obviously uh – I don’t know you wouldn’t want to like use that as a VR headset.
