Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The BEST Pixel-only features EXPLAINED”.
Google pixel devices are best known for their Simple and Clean UI, but it doesn’t mean that they skimp on the extra features. In fact, with each iteration of the pixel, Google has been expanding its list of pixel exclusive software tricks, I’m Harley Morano with Android authority, and in this article we are going to be covering some of the best features only available to Google pixel devices. Google’S pixel phones come with a plethora of features that are really useful when taking calls, but the two best features have to be call screening and hold. For me call screening is personally one of my favorite pixel features and probably the one I use the most when you get a call from an unknown number call. Screening uses the Google Assistant to interact with the caller and create a live transcript of the call.
After viewing the transcript, you can then decide whether to hang up answer the call or respond with a suggested message. This is a great way to evade unwanted calls from scammers spammers and robocalls. Unfortunately, this feature is only supported in a handful of countries which we will list on the screen here. But if you’re lucky enough to live in one of these areas, then it is definitely worth trying it out to set up automatic call.
Screening launch the phone app and then press the three dot menu button to go into the settings then select spam and call screen enable C caller and spam ID. Then press call screen scroll to unknown call settings and then tap on each colors. You want to screen when selected choose the automatically screen decline, robocalls option and if you want, you can also choose to save the audio from when a call is screened to manually, use, call screening, go into your phone app settings and then select call screen and then Follow the prompts to set up the feature the next time you get a call from an unknown number. You should see an option that says screen call another really useful pixel exclusive feature is called hold for me, as the name implies. This feature allows you to use the Google Assistant to stay on hold for you. While you go about your business, the assistant will then notify you, when a representative is ready to speak to you to use this feature, you really don’t have to do much. All you have to do is go into your phone settings go to hold for me and then make sure the feature is turned on. After that, the hold for me function should automatically appear on your screen if you’re using a supported device. Currently, the feature only works with pixel 3 and newer devices in the US, Canada and Australia. Besides calling features, pixel phones also come with exclusive photography, features that give it a leg up from other smartphones in its class. Here’S a rundown on some of the best features, probably the most popular pixel exclusive feature, has to be Magic Eraser, which allows you to remove unwanted objects from images and, yes, that includes unwanted tourists. Photobombing in the back in order to use Magic, Eraser go into the Google photos app and then select a photo, go to tools and then select Magic Eraser.
Your software will then suggest objects to remove, or you can highlight the object. You want to remove yourself. This system will then remove the selected object and do its best to fill in that blank based on the surroundings of said, object since Magic Eraser takes advantage of the tensor processor, the feature only works with pixel 6 or newer devices. Also, it only works inside the Google photos, app speaking of tensor exclusives.
Another feature worth mentioning is face on blur and, as the name suggests, the feature can improve the sharpness detail and noise on faces that it detects to be blurry. The camera on a pixel device can determine whether motion blur is likely to be present, which is usually in darker or fast-moving environments. Now, when this is detected, the camera will shoot multiple images, stitch them together and then use machine learning to try and improve the quality. In faces similar to Magic Eraser, this feature only works with the pixel 6 and newer.
However, if you have a pixel, 7 or 7 Pro, you can actually use face and blur to improve any image through Google photos, even if you didn’t take that photo on a pixel phone to unblur a photo taken with another camera use, the Google photos app select A photo then press edit and then go to tools then select on blur. After a few seconds, your photos should be on blurred. Moving away from photography here are two more pixel exclusives that I particularly found useful. The Google Recorder app is great for an anyone who needs to record meetings, interviews or a music writing session. Not only does it record audio, but it can also transcribe your audio in real time. The app is even smart enough to recognize different speakers and label them, and it can recognize different types of sounds as well, such as music that might be playing when no one is speaking. You can even search through recordings based on what was said, rather than solely relying on the title of a recording, which is honestly such a Time Saver and to round off this list. Extreme battery saver can be a huge Lifesaver when you really need to preserve battery life.
This feature has been around since the pixel 3 and has come a long way in extending each new pixel’s battery. For example, Google claims that the extreme battery saver mode can extend the battery life of the pixel 7 to 72 hours. But what happens when Extreme battery saver is turned on? Well, a few things. Most apps will pause. The CPU will slow down hotspot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning will shut off, and the screen timeout will drop to 30 seconds to enable this just go into your settings. Tap battery and then battery saver enable the battery saver mode and then tap Extreme battery saver then go into when to use and then choose ask every time or always use now.
