They own companies such as Volvo and have stakes in Mercedes-Benz Daimler, so they are no strangers to the vehicle production Market. Robin Lee, co-founder and chief executive of Baidu believes that by combining vedu’s expertise in smart Transportation, connected vehicles and autonomous driving with gili’s expertise as a leading automobile and EV manufacturer, the new partnership will pave the way for future passenger vehicles.
The company plans to produce over 1 million self-driving cars in the next three to five years. .
