Tesla Pi Phone vs iPhone

Tesla Pi Phone vs iPhone

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Tesla Pi Phone vs iPhone”.
Thanks to smartdesk for sponsoring this video, this is the brand new tesla iphone, and if you believe that i actually know what forget, it don’t believe the rumors, this phone is never coming, it’s never going to happen is never going to exist, but we did have a Long discussion about what, if what would happen, if tesla decided to make a phone here in the studio and if there are two companies that can get people triggered tesla and apple. So, let’s hypothetically just take the discussion that we had from the studio to the camera and talk about what the phone would be and how it would compare in the world of iphone 14s when this allegedly would come out. I know there are phones that are arguably better than the iphone, especially depending on who you are, but if tesla were to make a phone in the multiverse, you better believe they are going to be coming directly for the iphone 14, especially if you believe the story That elon musk told about him trying to get tim cook to buy tesla in the early days and tim cook, not even taking that meeting. So what could this tesla pi phone, which was allegedly the fake name of this phone, do that would blow the new iphone out of the water? So you have to look at what tesla and companies closely associated with tesla they’re. The elon range of companies like spacex are doing and what that tech could benefit uh a tesla phone. This is where it got interesting and where we sort of had the biggest conversation one thing tesla could take advantage of. Is the spacex starlink satellites? So if you don’t know, spacex has been launching thousands of satellites into orbit to create kind of a blanket of satellite-connected internet.

So in theory, no matter where you go no matter what you do, you will have a high-speed internet connection and bringing this to a phone. Would solve a major problem? Traditional carriers have not been able to solve and that’s the giant issue of coverage even now. In 2022, like dead zones, are a major problem.

Tesla Pi Phone vs iPhone

I’Ve got an area when i drive my kids to school, where my verizon phone drops out. Every single time, if you live in a rural area, you know what i’m talking about. My house is built like a faraday cage for wireless service, after relying on wi-fi calling but having something like starlink would help, because, basically universal coverage.

Tesla Pi Phone vs iPhone

That would be a gigantic advantage to this super fake tesla phone that, i think, would make it worthwhile for a lot of people. There have to be a killer feature that would make this phone stand out aside from just being a phone made by tesla uh. Some other features that i think seem obvious.

Uh are integrations with tesla vehicles. So right now with iphone android phones, integration is pretty solid. You don’t have carplay or android auto, but your phone connects to the car with bluetooth and when you walk up to it, connects automatically and unlocks a car. You don’t have to tap it anywhere. You have to open an app it just works.

Tesla Pi Phone vs iPhone

It usually works great until it doesn’t there’s been multiple times when you can walk up to the car with your phone, that’s not connect for some reason, then you have to go into the app open it manually or bust out. Your key card super first world problem. Sure, but it does break the otherwise streamline experience. Tesla made their own phone.

I would expect they would build in functionality to make that connection perfect so that it works every single time and maybe even open source it to work with other car manufacturers. You know we’ve seen bmw work with apple, maybe it would be the universal tesla key another feature. This is one of the interesting ones that we were talking about here had to do with battery life, so with phones that never seemed to get that much better. It seems like technology for displays, change, processor changes, but like it’s just a matter of how many milliamp hours can you cram in a phone and if right from a wall socket as long as you’re gon na go? The best case scenario is like two days max: the smartphone um. So what? If tesla took their solar expertise and built that into a phone? So, according to the rumors that tesla was going to make a phone again fake, rumors uh solar panels will be built into the back. We charge it from anywhere.

There is sun and at first glance, take a look at. It seems pretty silly and honestly how much power are you gon na generate from a solar panel, dab, baby baby? Small, probably nothing significant, but i guess in theory, if you just left your phone outside for a couple hours. Maybe you get a you know, percentage or two. Almost everybody who has a job. Uh is working from home in some capacity nowadays, which means you need a some setup to get ultimate productivity from your house. Uh, you can go out, you can buy a desk.

You can buy yourself a couple monitors, maybe even a standing desk, a webcam and some speakers and put it all together. You can get mounts and brackets or you get this guy behind me. So this is the smartdesk connect it’s available in two different docking options: d or e, depending on your laptop specs. So what you’re going to get here is three monitors, a fully adjustable sanding desk, and if you want to, when you order, you can get an optional webcam as well to complete the whole sort of workstation setup. You also have a tray to place your laptop on the bottom, so it’s compatible with all the apple silicon out now, as well as the old intel machines. Obviously it’ll work with windows, 10 and 11 as well.

So it’s a fully integrated workstation with displays speakers sitting standing desk wireless phone charger all built in uh. We’Ve got three 24-inch 4k uhd monitor it’s not cutting any quarters there. Automated sit stand functionality, it’s super quiet when it goes up and down.

You got two high-end. 10 watt stereo speakers you’ve got full cable management already done for you. The smartdesk connect it’s a really solid option if you work from home, but also an equally good option, if you’re in a commercial office that has space for it, uh go to smartdesk.com or hit the link below and if you use code, retinger and you’ve been checking Out that lenovo essentials, webcam behind me, they’re going to give you one for free.

But again all the details are down below. So, if you believe these, like leaks and i’m using leaks in the broadest sense, then this rumored phone could theoretically in the multiverse worlds. I’Ll be pretty cool and offer some unique features that we haven’t seen before, but even if those features were coming, there’s a lot tessa would have to do to make this phone meet the quality of something like the iphone 14 that would be out later this year.

The biggest challenge would be the camera system apple spent a few years, perfecting at least what they believe is the best camera on a phone and in a lot of ways. That is the case. Uh. The camera on phones is kind of catapulted, in my opinion, to be the top reason. A lot of people upgrade their devices and with the iphone 14 and the rumors of 48 megapixel, sensors and all kinds of other stuff coming. It appears that apple is not slowing down, so the latest rumor, the main camera on the back.

We upgraded, like i said from 12 to 48. uh. This would be the first change in megapixels uh, actually, since the iphone 6s, so adding new hardware to already great software is likely going to be a very winning combo one.

That’S gon na be hard to beat, especially for a newcomer to the entire phone space. So camera aside, tesla’s got to solve the processor issue. It’S got to compete with a series of chips and most likely they would use the latest snapdragon processor that’d, be my guess, but also need a great display and, most importantly, the software needs to be optimized and perform well and presumably would be based off of android. So these are all segments that the iphone has done really well, unless something major changes, that’s not going to slow down so tesla’s. First entry would likely end up in the mid to high range market of development, as seen with other devices and other sort of newcomers. So that was our like president loki multiverse kind of what could happen, but whether or not these features would ever come to a tesla phone or whether or not i perform well, is a totally moot and not necessary point um.

This phone is not going to happen. I would bet pretty much everything that i’ve got. This phone is never going to exist for a few big reasons. First, this is not good financial decision to enter this category and yeah features of this phone could be interesting and could bring some innovation to the market. The amount of development r d cost we needed for tesla to make this phone, especially now in a global chip shortage, probably not be worth it. You got things you got to worry about like assembly lines, shipment software hardware, design.

Every angle that you take. It seems like tesla’s got better things to be working on than a phone now, and i say this line to the end because you are still watching. None of this would stop tesla, probably from announcing a phone and then taking pre-orders for it, and then maybe they deliver it. Maybe maybe they don’t if they ever got into the phone world.

It’D probably make more sense to partner with the company like like apple, to integrate the smart key or startling connectivity, rather than create an entire phone line themselves, but the biggest reason this won’t happen comes from musk himself and, if you think about it for a second, It makes a ton of sense according to elon quote: smart watches and phones are yesterday’s technology. Uh neuralinks are the future, so elon is full steam ahead on knurling, and this is a technology that is, i mean it sounds like super villain style but implanted into your head uh. Let’S do everything your smartphone can, but without hardware uh, it’s all all in your head at least that’s the goal, and is that a good thing should it happen? Do i want it to happen? I mean i don’t know. Those are all huge questions that need answers, but the point for this is tesla and, more importantly, people behind those companies like musk are looking towards the future, not current technology and even apple’s in the same boat right we’re expecting to see the next generation of of The iphone the mixed reality headset’s been rumored for years and we’re supposed to be seeing the first version, even as early as this year.

So even from the maker, the iphone’s perspective, the smartphone is kind of oldish technology and something better is likely on the horizon. So this is just a straight-up fun exercise. We took a conversation that we had here and wanted to share it with you guys and let us know what you think if tesla would ever to do this, it’s fun to think about what all this would look like. If a company entered a new market and there’s clearly, no doubt tesla wanted to make a phone they clearly could it’s got to be easier than building cars to do it um, but there’s probably a lot of other things.

They could make too that they’re not going into so tesla pie phone whatever they want to call it’s not going to happen. I do think starlink integration would be a really cool thing to have as a feature for an android phone or an iphone as sort of an emergency fallback. So you always have service to call for help. Should you need it, but again we’re never going to see product go into your pocket? You can make phone calls on that’s made by tesla .
