Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “SSD go brrr”.
New year yeah, let’s just pretend that last one didn’t happen: that cool yeah, okay, that sounds good yeah. Oh, we can’t taxes. The consumer electronics show starts next week and, even though most of the showing will be once again happening online this year, some companies just can’t wait to participate in the annual shameless frenzy of self-promotion. That’S apparently how intel’s ryan shroud felt about a demo. He posted on twitter, showing an alder like system allowing a samsung pci express gen 5 ssd to reach transfer speeds of over 13 gigabytes per second 15 gigawatts. 13.. Okay, yes for context, so that’s around double the speed that you’d expect to see from many high-end gen. 4 drives so i mean that kind of makes sense, because pci express gen 5 is double the speed of gen 4, but, like the drive, we didn’t think the drives should get this fast as quickly yeah but yeah. Obviously, that’s how math works now the drive a samsung pm1743 is an enterprise-grade model that isn’t even out yet.
So i wouldn’t get too excited about achieving performance like this on just any system, but it’s really cool to see this. Nonetheless, even in these dark times, we can still make pc go burr and we shall forever more. The dark times may be seeing a glimmer of light, though, because it looks like asus is working on a converter card that could allow you to run ddr4 in a motherboard that otherwise only supports ddr5 memory. A solution like this would hopefully have a positive impact on the industry’s supply of ddr5, which is experience shortages, along with everything else in the world right now, literally, except sas. Sas is flowing abundantly lots of sass a youtube. Video posted by someone named bing believed to not be a microsoft employee, but an asus employee goes through how the card works and shows a demo system which we may see more of at ces.
I just hope: bing doesn’t get in trouble for leaking this thing because we love it not bing, of course. Well, okay, that being we do love, but not the other. Being you know, the the you got, ta pick your banks, yeah thanks for sean’s the thing bing and if you needed more evidence that planet earth is in dire straits, google’s position at the top of the most popular web domain. Charts was usurped this week, not by another search engine by tick tock, oh god, leading to the inescapable conclusion that more people are searching tiktok for answers to their questions instead of typing it in a browser’s search bar – and you know i get it. Google is big, bad tech giant, you know destroying privacy etc, but i’d guess that it’s more likely to get you somewhat accurate information than e-girls listing facts while dancing to dualipa. Although some of them are pretty smart, i mean i don’t know how to dance so andy’s flossing back there now tick, tock’s dominant spot was noted by cloudflare, but other website rating lists.
Don’T have the app at the top, so maybe there’s still some hope for society. I mean it could have been facebook that’d be worse. That would be worse. I mean stop it yeah! Stop it yeah ronnie’s over there.

That’S hellofresh.com and use promo code. Techlink16. thanks! Riley now give me the quick bits. Give me the quick bits they’re mine now tesla is recalling more than 500 000 model 3 and model s cars in the us and canada over manufacturing defects, a faulty rear view, camera on the model 3s and a front latch that won’t latch.
In the case of the model s’s it’s the latest example of quality control problems seen in tesla vehicles. Although the effective models were produced from 2014 to 2020., the new models are supposedly better and they’ve got completely different people working on spacex. So don’t worry. Rich people have bought new teslas yeah.
If uh, you know, we will protect you yeah i mean. Who else are we gon na eat? The fledgling world of nfts continues to go through growing pains with open sea recently banning two nft collections that ape the infamous board ape yacht club nfts. The two copycats are both called the funky ape yacht club, but they have different twitter handles and are both selling identical, mirrored copies of the originals well arguing about which one is the original fake copy? What is it? It’S probably the same person doing this, for you know, publicity! That’S how this stuff works is real art.
The hype for primate drawings that are all slightly tweaked copies of themselves will die down at some point want it. I hope it has to then they’ll be cheap. So i can buy it.
Yeah yeah give them to riley. Hey look at this. It’S a display that can taste like the food. It displays by spraying a combination of 10 flavored liquids on a hygienic film that rolls over top of it.
How is this hygienic delicious? What is it like sprayed with rubbing alcohol and like wow, okay, yeah tastes sounds delicious, so if the only thing keeping you from leaving your gaming station was the desire to taste something other than the cries of your opponents, then congrats to you. The device is a prototype made by professor homey miyashita at the meiji university in tokyo, because, of course, this thing comes from japan. They always make good stuff. Cars. Weird displays very weird displays and very weird television.
Another nifty japanese gadget is the shiatsu hand massager for gamers wow. What do they think of next made by a company called sure anyway? It’S designed to really work the knots out of gamer hands that have been working hard to prove something to the universe and hopefully keep that kd ratio up. I do that with craft dinner. It’S like the opposite of the gamja bar test from dune which causes pain, but you could argue that pain helped paul, oh yeah, and you know: if you get this, then maybe you’ll get the uh more deep of no. I haven’t.
I just i’ve seen bits and pieces that you like the old one – oh my god, but not the new one. Do the next story: okay and freaking, jake bella vance tweeted about buying a ps5 box that was actually full of the simpsons dvds the other day and for some reason it’s sitting at like 42.2 000 likes right now, we’re very happy for him. Congratulations! Jake! The tweet was okay, i mean it was all right. Congratulations jake! Merry christmas, happy new year and congrats to you for finishing this video now come back next week when we’ll be posting a tech linked episode every day during ces from here, because we’re not going yeah.
We’Re just going to talk about them behind their back. It felt good to cancel the plans, though yeah cancel culture is a good thing. Sometimes .
