Something DIFFERENT: Oppo Find N3 Flip

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Something DIFFERENT: Oppo Find N3 Flip”.
This video is sponsored by Oppo yeah hold up, it’s not ready. Yet for the last 30 years we were told the future of smartphones would look like this, but we were wrong at least sort of so almost a year ago, uh I showed you guys. The N2 flip from Oppo, I think, one of the most ambitious folding phones that got nearly everything right and they are back now the successor, the appropriately named M3 flip. That might be the folding phone to be so.

I think the question everybody’s got is like that’s cool, but like John, why should I care this time, though I have an answer for you and it’s not what you think there’s a way to say. Thank you uh to you guys for being awesome, supporting the channel and generally being good humans. Give you a chance to win $ 500 to get whatever you want. Just leave your social handle in the comments, so I can contact you if you win open to anyone in the world runner for 10 days, all information will be in the description down below. So I’m going to jump right into blind photo test.

You know how it goes. I got two phones, one you could probably guess. Um is the Oppo, but which one looks better to you. Take a real close look at this.

Look at this look. How colors are reproduced look how it’s handling portrait mode? Look, how cutouts are look at shadow. Look at light. Look at all the things that would matter to to you.

These photos were both taken unfolding phones, but the results, I think, are in different leagues, so phone a is the Oppo N3 flip and the right is the latest from Samsung. This is the Galaxy Z, flip 5, two phones that obviously are competing for the same buyer. I’Ve got a lot to say about these folding phones, we’re going to compare the good and the bad uh, but I think what oppos is doing with the camera is really impressive, so they are packing a flagship, triple camera system into this phone. So you’ve got a main camera with a 50 megap sensor, a 48 map ultrawide and a 32 megap portrait camera.

So the 1X and 2x lens is able to mimic. Actually, the bokeh of a Hasselblad lens uh, giving you stylized photos where your portrait subject is going to start to pop uh. In addition to taking excellent photos in the environment, unique form factor of the N3 flip giv use some pretty unique advantages. Oppo has what they’re calling Flex form mode.

Let’S used a hinge like a tripod, it’s kind of Tik Tok mode uh. My favorite though – and this is a cool use of tech, uh they’re, calling it dual preview. It lets subject, get a full preview of the exact shot, you’re taking and that’s all being possible to the actually pretty big 3.26 in cover display.

This is a big deal, but talk more about that when I get to there in a minute. So, okay, I’m going to reverse time and go back to the photo samples differences between the Oppo and the Samsung are noticeable, not just in software, but also when it comes to Hardware. So the flip 5 has two cameras: no optical zoom, only digital zoom and the more you zoom.

Obviously the noisier it’s going to get while higher resolution portrait camera on the triple lens and3. Flip uh gives you more resolution to work with with two times: optical zoom. Even a five time, zoom, as you can see, is retaining a surprising amount of detail here and again the proof is in the photos. You can see that for yourself, camera is just cool and that’s a big part of the equation uh. But you can’t talk about this phone without, I think, focusing on the cover display it’s kind of like having a mini phone on top of your phone. In fact, at the N3 flip, one of the coolest features is minia app, which probably guess what it does.

Let’S use some of your favorite apps in that mini display things like X, which still kills me to say: uh Reddit, Tik, Tok, Google Maps, like gestures and all just like if you’re were on a larger main screen. But since it does have a hinge, you just probably decid to flip this open at some point um and you might flip out sorry my dad joke. I got three kids uh at the gorgeous 6.8 in 120.

Hz AMOLED display inside that hides the crease better than any other folding phone. I have ever tried you can see here, even with light hitting where the hinge would go. You can see the difference between these two and that’s with nothing on the screen.

When you have something on the screen, the hinge is almost completely unnoticeable. You do feel it when you move your finger over it, but looking at it, it is really hard to see any sort of crease and that magic is mostly due to what Oppo is calling a flexion hinge. It’S marketing term, but it’s a really solid hinge so and speaking of Samsung, I think – and I’ve said it in many videos.

I think they make some of the best displays out there and the interior screens, I think, are very similar. The adder screen on the N3 flip significantly is more versatile than we have on the Z, flip 5 and the Samsung credit they try to make good use out of the screen, especially with the current generation. But it’s more of a half screen. The horizontal orientation is fine for widgets to actually be able to use an app on a much larger vertical screen for a lot of things, I think is a Big Time game changer. So for long as I’ve been testing flipping and folding phones – and I was there when the very first one uh was handed out – they’ve – always sort of had their fair share of compromises, um, whether they flip or fold or whatever the N3 flip feels really in a Lot of ways like a full flagship phone, just one that folds, but comparing these two sort of very similar phones battery life on the zflip 5 – is okay uh. It could be better. It’S got a 3700 M battery inside, while the N3 flip has a much bigger.

600 Mah larger 4,300 mAh battery comfortably letting you get throughout the day and that’s not a little difference. Uh performance is also not a problem here. Either N3 flip does have the mediate Tech dimensity chip 9200, while Samsung has a Snapdragon, 8 Gen 2 uh for Galaxy from Qualcomm. Both are going to be fine for doing obviously normal stuff. I think you can push the zflip 5 qualcomm’s processor a lot further, but doing normal phone things. Opening up, apps video um playing games you’re not going to notice a huge amount of difference in some scenarios, but there are scenarios where you will notice a Qualcomm chip. All that aside, uh, the N3 flip, also packs dual eim dual 5G and also supports 44 Watts of super fast super vuk charging, while Z flip 5, stuck at 25 watts. I think for most people, myself included the big thing holding us back from buying foldables.

Were those compromis cover screens that are too small giant creases, slow processors fast tring batteries as much as I wanted? Foldable phones to be the future, and I definitely advocated for it. It seemed like they were destined to not be mainstream successes and oppo’s. Clearly, trying to solve all of these problems with the end free, flip, you’re, getting a true Flagship level, camera system, a really big battery for any phone, a beautiful usable cover display that works like a mini phone uh in really the best way possible. I know this form factor is not going to be for everyone.

Some folks still want that fold that opens up to a tablet and the N3 flip. I think it’s a phone to try if you’re looking to make the jump into this kind of cool new form factor, and if you try it, you might just find it’s pretty flipping cool had to do it. If you want to check it out, learn more all that stuff, though I’ll put the links down below .
