Setup Wars – Episode 179

Setup Wars - Episode 179

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Setup Wars – Episode 179”.
What’S happening guys mtext, I was walking through setup wars. Episode 179. We used to mature desk setup, you get featured on the channel. If you guys want to participate, you know what to do make sure to watch the video linked down below. But with that said, let the setup wars begin starting off the episode very simple. We have Cameron from London and his minimalistic setup that he uses for mostly student work and semi-pro csgo he’s using a 27-inch, a submariner which looks to be mounted on the desk, which is actually the same one.

I used in the venom gaming setup for a setup makeover season, two [ Applause ]. I actually really like this desk because of the giant mouse pad and the cable management net underneath the desk. But it’s a bit overkill for a single monitor setup, because this desk comes with three slits in the back, which is meant for routing cables.

From three separate monitors, but in this setup, Cameron actually made good use of the cutouts to out the cables for his Xbox one elite and the MacBook Pro well done. Speaking of cables. He did drill another hole in the center for his keyboard and mouse, and the rest of the wires are beautifully managed underneath the desk using lots of cable clips and zip ties. But I’m curious why you have a power strip underneath here. If there is nothing connected to it also under here, he has a few hangers holding up his headphones. We have the HyperX cloud stinger for gaming and he bose QC 35 III for everything else and now for the recommendations. First off I get why you put the monitor so close to the desk, like that, it’s to hide the cables going down, but in exchange you are putting a lot of strain on your neck constantly looking down. So I don’t recommend that, if you’re really that worried about hiding the cables, then you could hide the cables behind the monitor mount using velcro straps your neck will. Thank you later. I also feel like your MacBook could use a stand.

I did find a few on Amazon that are pretty minimalistic and it won’t take up any extra space on your desk and they do stick to your color scheme as well, speaking of which you should consider adding a skin to it, because the MacBook does stick out A lot compared to everything else in your setup, of course, adding a bit of personality will spice up your setup, but it’s refreshing to see a MacBook setup. After all this time. Thank You, Cameron for entering speaking of Mac. Setups you’ll want to check out today’s sponsor. Thanks to setup for sponsoring this episode of setup wars setup is a useful suite. I found that packs over 150 Mac apps into one platform.

Setup Wars - Episode 179

You can browse all the programs that setup has to offer by the Explorer tab or by each app category. It’S very simple to install on your Mac and utilizations are countless the solution, alleviates the need of value assessment for multiple app memberships, and it’s got you covered with a collective flat membership rate. The suite takes minimal storage and processor impact for those who are mindful about system resources and speed. While optimizing measurable project results from tested apps for creatives to developers, setup has you covered and its extensive collection will harmonize your workflow.

We use this platform across all of our Mac computers. Next up is Aiden who’s. Also, a member of my discord – and this is the setup uses for screaming he’s – got a dual stack, monitor setup with a 23 inch up top as an overhead and a 27-inch 144 Hertz monitor on the bottom. The tablet on the left is using an app which has a bunch of shortcuts to help while he’s screaming that’s pretty cool.

It seems that everyone and their mothers are using the black linman tabletop with the Alex yours from Ikea. This is a pretty much the equivalent of a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks that everyone always gets and fall. One of the reason why it’s so popular is because you get lots of surface area combined with storage space and the colors work with pretty much any setup. Aidan is rocking the ducky 1/2 mini with the tayo hokey caps in blue and the ninja air 58 mouse and red which I’m guessing blue was sold out because there isn’t any consistency here with the colors.

I do like that. He drilled holes behind the speakers and the headphone hangar to route the cables through and also the mic. Placement is pretty good. Putting the audio interface and the drawer is actually a pretty clever way of hiding it.

Instead of mounting it underneath the desk, like most people, do – and this way you can actually still use it, the PC part in this setup is tucked away on the left side and it’s actually decently expect with a 2600 X and a gtx 1060. I do like what you did with the acoustic panels. Creating a design around the painting and alternating between black and blue colors make the setup pop even more. Instead of going with a single static color, there was a few things i would recommend for your setup now.

For starters, adding these isolation pads would help keep your speakers from vibrating at high volumes. But, more importantly, you can tilt the angle of the speaker so that it’s positioned more accurately towards your ears. Now these foams are for 5-inch speakers, so you might have to do some cutting to make it fit perfectly with yours and lastly, some wall raceways can help cover the cables from your TV if you care enough, but other than that, it’s a pretty good setup for Streaming but if I’m honest, I kind of prefer your older setup simply because it was a lot cleaner with better cable management. Also, I’m kind of disappointed that you didn’t even like my video next up is neo from the matrix and his quad display setup, which he built on a desk that looks like it belonged to an elementary school teacher. At one point you see Andrew was no ordinary subscriber. This is a 21 year old software engineer, who also happens to be an admin on my discord server, and this is actually his old setup that he used for pretty much everything from gaming to programming and watching YouTube videos and I’m not gon na dissect. The setup too much because he is in the process of sending his updated setup in his new apartment and trust me when I say it’s definitely something you want to stick around for so andrew has 327 inch curved monitors and a 32 inch TV hooked up to A few monitor arms that were kind of stitched together and then below that we got the corsair k70 RGB keyboard and the dark core RGB SD mouse with an RGB mouse pad.

Setup Wars - Episode 179

The main reason why Andrew stuck with coarser gear is because of IQ. He believes that it’s currently the best RGB lighting software available and I couldn’t agree more. I love that Andrew put his PC on top of a side table instead of placing it underneath the desk, especially if you’re got a water cooler.

You’Ve got to display it. It’S packing in 9700 K, that’s clock to 5 gigahertz and we have an EVGA r-tx 28 exc ultra underwater. I find it kind of funny that andrew is using the actual TV speakers and sometimes the Google home for audio.

However, he does have a pair of voi. Pro RGB is hanging from the side of the teacher desk by the way those universal hangers are super useful. If you want to store your controllers headphones or anything, similar I’ll drop, a link below, if you guys want to pick them up, they’re super cheap, too.

Here’S the coolest part of this setup. In my opinion, this is where Andrews engineering skills come into play. So we integrated his Google assistant with Corsairs IQ software. So that way you can change the colors of a set up, just by speaking into google assistant, that is pretty damn cool. Hey Google make the PC lights red: okay, making the PC lights red! Hey! Google make the lights red sure changing six lights to red cables are tucked away nicely behind the desk and overall the setup looks great, but it kind of feels like it belongs in my grandmother’s bedroom. Oh, that is gon na change very soon, however, since andrew is completely redoing his setup in his new apartment.

So thank your Andrew for entering and I’m excited to see your new setup at number. Four is Lucas and his beautiful compact setup, you see Lucas is a full-time student and uses the setup for hardcore gaming and occasional homework and Netflix, which I find funny because shouldn’t it be the other way around shouldn’t use a setup for hardcore homework and occasional gaming. Since you know you’re a full time student since Lucas has a very tiny room, he was very limited on what type of setup he could build, given the space constraints. Hence why one of the monitors is hanging from the side of the desk. He’S used an eraser or not a chroma key board and the razor lancehead chroma Mouse with eagle eye this extended mousepad, but he did really hold a desk to route the cables but check this out guys. He also drill a hole for the iPhone charging cable and he attached a cable clip to it, so that’s easier to grab and plug in his phone whenever he needs to dock and charge it. That is very clever for audio he’s got a few headphones hanging underneath the desk and a pair of Sun over speakers that he mounted above his setup using a few tiny wall shelves. I do like that. You used wall raceways to cover up the cables and you even painted them in grey so that it blends in with the wall.

Setup Wars - Episode 179

But why didn’t you paint the other raceway behind your monitor? The cables are managed very well underneath a setup thanks to a Signum rack and a few cable clips. However, the middle raceway was a bit unnecessary. You could have just used a few cable clips to keep the wires from hanging down.

Also down here is a tiny, open drawer holding up as ps4 ps3 and the Wii, and finally, we have the PC powering the set up, which has an 80 600 K and an RT X, 27 T with custom sleeve cables. Okay, so there’s a few things. I can recommend to improve this setup now. If you don’t want the second monitor hanging from your desk, then this is the only solution. Given a small space, you have to work with first up, you’re gon na have to remove those two controller mounts and mount a wall shelf up there in sted IKEA sells a couple of white ones that will fit your setup perfectly. However, I do strongly recommend installing support brackets as well.

You can even paint these in white so that it blends in with the wall next we’re gon na put the PC on top of that and then use a white cable sleeve to cover the cables going down. You might need to buy some extension cables as well for your mouse keyboard and speakers. With this new modification. You can move both monitors to the center of the desk, while keeping your PC in sight. One last recommendation I can give you is upgrading your speakers. The logitech z 200s sound way better than those cheap ones from amazon, and they only cost 20 bucks.

If you willing to make those big changes, I think your setup will look a lot better either way. Thank You Lucas for entering. Last but not least, we have Suraj with another compact setup.

However, he has the PC on the ground, he’s using a single 27-inch, 240 Hertz gaming monitor from Acer, but it looks like he covered the chin with some white skins, which is actually a pretty good idea. He is using the popular IKEA Mickey desk and I thought of that. We got the razor Huntsman keyboard with custom, black and white key caps and the Logitech g7 or three wireless mouse Bharati.

Oh he’s got a pair of headphones hanging underneath the desk, the courser HS 50 for gaming and the m-40 X’s for media and above the setup he’s got the Logitech Z, 200 speakers, which I actually just recommended in the last set up. I’M not sure if you’re aware of this, but there are white versions of those speakers unless you’re going for more contrast in your setup, then that is fine. The PC powering the setup is a beauty it’s packing here: Eisen 520 600 and the r-tx 2060 with custom, sleeve cables and white LED fans.

Honestly, though, I would choose the PC over the ps4 any day, take down the ps4 and move the monitor over to the left side to make room for your PC on the right. If you really want a month appears four on the wall, then you can mount it right above the monitor. Also, the cables could be cleaned up a bit better.

You really didn’t need to buy a Signum rack, because the desk does have a built-in rack where you can dump all the cables in and the rest of the cables could be wrapped up using velcro straps, it’s a pretty good setup, but with some questionable choices, I’m Sure, with the minor tweaks, you can improve this setup by a lot. Thank you, Suraj for entering ok. I want to give you huge things to set up for sponsoring this episode of setup wars with a membership.

You can download everything on the platform and all the future apps to come without additional in-app purchases check the link in the description to get a 7-day free trial of the full setup collection, and that is it for this episode of setup auras.
