ScreenPal Screen Recorder Tutorial

ScreenPal Screen Recorder Tutorial

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “ScreenPal Screen Recorder Tutorial”.
In this article, I will show you how to use the new screen pal to create your own screen recordings for free, let’s get started, so this is screen pal.com. As you can see here, it used to be called screencastomatic and it’s a great screen recorder tool. I’M going to start just by coming down here and clicking screen recorder, and it takes me to a screen where it says: launch free recorder, I’ll click there and Screen pal is now loading. The free recorder that I’ll use to create my screen recordings. I’M using Google Chrome, and so the download is appearing here. If I don’t see that little popup, I can simply click on this button.

It shows my recent download history or even my full download history and I’ll go ahead and click on the screen pal setup tool. It’S finishing downloading the required software in order to use screen pal, and now that it’s done, I get this small screen pal screen, it’s performing some updates and and if you’re thinking oh, this is a hassle, it’s taking a significant amount of time. That’S because this is my first time using screen pal on this particular computer. Once I’ve finished going through this process on this computer I’ll never have to do it again. Yes, I may have to do updates, but it will not be this long to get ready to do my recording, okay, the recorder has finished updating and it’s loaded, it says recorder will record anything that happens in this Frame and to make this a little more clear. I’M going to go to a second tab here in my browser, and now you can see those dashed lines better. That’S the area of my screen that will be recorded once I click this record button before I click record, though, let’s look at some of the options that we have.

What do I want to record? Do I want to record myself through my webcam, so this would just be a recording of my face and everything that’s behind me or do I prefer just to record my screen? There is a third option, which is to record both in my case. I only want to record the screen so I’ll leave it. There notice that, with the free recorder, I’m limited to 15 minutes at any one time, that’s perfect for what I need.

What about the size of the recording you can see that right now, screen pal is set up to only record this area of my screen, and that’s not enough in my case, so I’m going to click here on size and I’ll choose full screen next notice. This narration option – I can look at this and see that screen pal can hear my voice. So that’s good. I could click here, though, and choose a different microphone, so those are good options to know about. Finally, if I want to upgrade to a paid account, I could capture the audio that comes from my computer.

So, if I’m on a website that plays music or has sound effects for a game or something like that, those can’t be recorded with the free version of screen pal, I would have to upgrade so I’m happy with these options. There are additional options here. If you click on this gear symbol, for example, it tells me a pause, hotkey, alt, P, that’s very useful, but in my case I’m happy with these default settings, and so I’m just going to go back and I’ll click record. I get a countdown hi in this article.

ScreenPal Screen Recorder Tutorial

I want to show you how to use discogs.com. This is one of my favorite music websites here on discogs. I can do a search for a specific, album or artist or even a genre of music, so I’ll type in New Wave, and it gives me a list of 208,000 now I’m going to stop talking about discogs. At this point, I want to show you that, as I’m recording this screencast in screen pal, I have a set of tools here that are very handy.

ScreenPal Screen Recorder Tutorial

For example, I can click here to draw on the screen, and this is going to be recorded in my screencast. I also have a highlighter so very useful and I have an erase button. I can erase what I’ve written on the screen. I can click here to type some text, something like that.

ScreenPal Screen Recorder Tutorial

I also have a shape tool that I can use. I can click here to zoom so anywhere. I doubleclick screen pal will zoom in on that area and it can keep zooming in if you want it to when you’re ready to zoom back out, you can just tap escape and it will do so all right. Let’S say I want to pause my screen recording at this point I’ll just hold alt tap p and my screen pal screen recording has paused.

It looks like I’m at 2 minutes and 20 seconds once I catch my breath and I’m ready to resume my video. I can click record again and once again I get my count down. So that’s all you need to know about discogs.com.

Okay, I’m ready to stop this screencast fast, so I’ll press, this pause button and I’ll click done now. If I wanted to just delete this and start over, that’s an option here, but I’m happy with it, so I’ll click done. If I’m completely happy with what I recorded, I could click save upload. If I do that, it will save my video either to screen pal or YouTube or Google Drive in an unedited condition, so it’ll just send it the way it is. If I want to do some basic edits, I can click edit video for free, and it takes me to a screen where I can do some very, very basic edits.

If I want to do more edits, more complicated edits and do some fine-tuning, I will need to upgrade to a paid version of screen pal to help. You see this better, I’m going to click here to go to full screen and you can see. I can click play and I get a preview of what my video will sound like when it’s completely finished. There are some basic edits I can make.

I can, for example, click in an area where maybe there’s some dead air that I want to remove and click cut and Screen pal consents approximately where the cut should be. It’S going to try to take out these 8.5 seconds of dead air. So if I’m happy with that, I can click okay and that dead air is removed. I can try it again here. With this dead. Air I’ll click add cut click, okay and more dead air is removed.

There are some other editing tools that you can try out here, but again, if you want the full editing Suite, then you need to upgrade to the paid version of screen pal now, of course, I can cut out more than just dead air, so I clicked here And performed a cut, but look now I can click and drag this red bar to show what part of the video I want to cut, and then I can click okay and that part of the video is cut. So you don’t have to just cut dead air. You can cut any part of the video out now that I’m done making edits to the video. I can go up here to the upper left and put in my project name I’ll call this discogs video and I’m done editing the video. Now I’m given some options to upload it into my screen pal account. I could also save it to my my computer as a video file.

There’S some options there that I could choose from and there are more options hidden here in this button. So if I click there, there’s an option to upload directly to YouTube Vimeo or simply save it to Google Drive or Dropbox. In my case, I’m going to save it as a video file on my computer. I’Ll. Look through these options make sure I’m happy with them. Now, before I publish I need to choose the folder where this video will be saved, so I want to save it to this PC and in my downloads folder in my case, I’ll click. Okay, and now I can click, publish and Screen pal is now combining all of the elements of this screen. Recording it’s combining my voice with the video I recorded and also the actions and movements that I did with the mouse pointer. Now that it’s finished, I could click done or I could go directly to the browse folder where the video is saved.

There’S my finished discogs video and I can double click on it to open it up and play it. So there’s my wonderful screen C fast and now that it’s saved to my computer. I could upload this video to YouTube.

I could pull it into PowerPoint or into a learning management system like Canvas OR Blackboard. I can do what I want with that video now. In many cases, it makes sense to sign up for a free screen pal account.

If you click sign up, it’s free, you could sign up through Google or Apple or sign up with your own specific email address. Once you’ve signed up or signed in, you can select what kind of account you want and then update your account account and by signing up this way, even for a completely free account, look what you can do when you create your screen recordings, they will now automatically Be saved into your screen pal account, so I’m creating a new screen recording at this time, and let’s say now: I’m done I can click the pause button here in the lower left, click done and then I can click save upload. I can give my recording a name and then I’ll just choose upload to screen pal and publish screen pal is now saving this recording into my screen. Pal account, I can click done and it takes me back to screen pal. I can now go to my content and it will list for me all of the videos I’ve made in the past, including the one I just did and in the future.

If I want to, I can click on these three dots choose share, and it gives me a direct link to this video and many other options as well, including an embed code. And then, if I go back to my video here in my list of videos on screen pal, I can click here on D details. It opens up details of my screen. Recording and one of the options here in more is to download an mp4.

In other words, video version of this screen recording, so I can download it to my computer at any time and use it in the future. So, in my opinion, screen pal is an excellent free screen. Recording tool with annotation features, some editing features and it’s a place where I can save videos, I’ve recorded and then use them in the future. In various ways I think screen pal is fantastic if you’re ready to upgrade to a paid version of screen.
