While conducting underwater mapping of the northern great barrier reef sea floor in australia, scientists were using the underwater robot sub bastion sub bastion yeah, that’s a good one to explore the sea floor and they stumbled across this newly discovered coral reef. It has a blade like reef, that is one and a half kilometers wide, which is just under a mile wide and it actually raises to 500 meters and at its shallower depth, it’s 40 meters below the sea surface and for divers. This reef is the first to be discovered in more than 120 years in the waters off of north queensland.
