Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Plasma Cutting with CNC Router Parts”.
Cnc router parts is a company that specializes in large format, do-it-yourself cnc kits. We sell cnc routers plasma cutters, uh 3d printers and all in a kit form cnc. Router parts has been in business since around 2008 we started selling just component parts for people to build their machines that have graduated into whole kits. We’Ve got two new exhibits that we’re excited about uh maker faire.
This year we’ve got a cnc plasma cutting system and a cnc uh 3d print head for large format. Printing, the 3d print head we’ve developed, is meant to go on systems that are larger format. So we have big machines generally and we’ve stayed away from the 3d printer market because it didn’t make sense to lay down a tiny amount of material for a large machine.
But now we have a print head and a heated build plate system that can keep up with the size of these machines and put out a lot of material very quickly. The r3d printhead is compatible with all sorts of other uh cnc machines. Anything that runs mach3 or mach 4 can use this printhead we’ve actually gone through and developed software that allows for an integrated approach to 3d printing through these commonly used cnc control programs. We’Re really excited about plasma. It opens up a whole new realm of materials for makers to cut out cut out. This is basically the same pro drive components that our routers do, but now we’ve got a plasma torch attached to the system, along with integrated torch height control for precise uh, cutting of the steel material.
So it’s really opens up a whole new realm of materials. Cutting steel up to half inch thick and you cut it quickly and precisely so, we’re really excited about that system. .
