I know we’re about 6 months away from seeing anything officially released by Google when it comes to the Google pixel 99’s, but we are so deep into leak era of 2024 when it comes to Google now we know there might even be three Google pixel 99’s before We start there if you, like, all the latest Google pixel leaks and rumors, then this is the place to be so make sure that you subscribe to the Android authority YouTube channel. Now, a few weeks ago we saw renders of the Google pixel 9 and the Google pixel 9 Pro or that’s what we thought they were at the time now, both these devices from the renders looked really similar to each other, and it got us thinking that, maybe What we actually saw was a Google pixel 99 Pro XL and a more compact version of the Google pixel 9 Pro now with new leaked information and new renders from onleaks who on Twitter, is a ridiculously reliable source. When it comes to Google pixel news, he seems to have confirmed that likely we’re going to be getting a third Google pixel 9 back in 2022, we reported that there might end end up being a smaller, more compact version of a pro Google pixel phone coming.
That’S because we had some information from a source which, essentially, let us know all of Google pixel road map of phones coming up until 2025, and it seems like we were right and 2024 is going to be the year that we see that smaller, more compact pro Version of a Google pixel and with these new renders it confirms the existence of a regular Google pixel 9, which looks fairly similar to the Google pixel 9 Pros. Let me break down exactly what we should be getting when it comes to to the series 9 pixels. This year, so we’ll start with that bigger Pro phone. This should be the Google pixel 9 Pro XL, which will have that new three camera tier setup on that rear of the phone, and it should have a bigger display if we believe the rumors and leaks at 6.7. In and now we know that we’re going to be getting a smaller, more compact version of the Google pixel 9 Pro again with that same camera, design on the back, but this could have a smaller display at 6.1 in and today we got our first look at That Google pixel 9, which again has a really similar camera design on the back, but this time with two cameras instead of three and it has that smaller size display this time at 6.03 in each of these phones as well, no matter which one you pick up, Whether it be the regular Google pixel 9, the 9 Pro or the 9 Pro XL will all have that new flat design and this again isn’t something new. It’S the 2024 Trend and we’ve seen this happen on the Galaxy S 24s this year, where they’ve all gone flat with their design, and I actually prefer that over the curve that we have on the Google pixel 8s this year.
If you were a fan of pro phones but have always wanted a small compact version of a Google pixel Pro, then this is something to be excited about, like I’m really excited about it, because my biggest complaint now about the pixel 8 Pro is that it’s just A little bit too big and I struggle to reach the top of the display with one hand, but a smaller, more compact version of a Google pixel 9 Pro, I’m all here for it. This also isn’t a new strategy, because we’ve seen this from the likes of Apple before, where every single year, they will release an iPhone base version, an iPhone pro version and then an iPhone Pro Max version. I’M hoping, though, that when we get that smaller, more compact version of the Google pixel 99 Pro and then that bigger version of the 9 Pro XL, I hope that they don’t have any kind of Hardware specific features that only the bigger XL phone can get. So, for example, the iPhone gives the five time zoom to the pro Max, but I hope that this doesn’t happen when we get down to our Google pixel Pro phones, I think it’d be a really bad move.
If Google did this in terms of what specs we might see in the Google pixel 9 series, it’s still a little early to know anything concrete. We expect that powering the Google pixel 9 is going to be the tensor G4 and that’s kind of about it. Google could go down the same route as Apple did this year for their Pro phones and release a more powerful G4 for the pro and the pro XL. But hopefully this is something that doesn’t happen.
I think that using that on device, AI probably needs the tens. G4, whether you go for a pixel, 99 pixel9 Pro or the pixel9 pro XL it’ll, also be really interesting to see where these phones are priced. Now, because I expect the Google pixel 9 to still be pretty affordable, but then the pixel 9 Pro. I expect to still be around about $ 999 and then that Google pixel Pro XL is going to go Way north of $ 11,000. So it’ll be interesting to see, I mean we’ll find out fairly soon, but I don’t think that getting a more compact version of a Google pixel Pro phone is going to make it any cheaper than what we’ve seen already. I love a smaller, more powerful phone and I don’t necessarily like having that big chunky phone in my pocket.
