Opinion: Is Android Updated Too Often?

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Opinion: Is Android Updated Too Often?”.
After reading, through the latest android authority articles on the update to android’s operating system, i can’t find anything to enjoy about android 13., let’s get into it. Now, when i say that i can’t find anything to enjoy about android 13. I really can’t, because i don’t have it yet, and i don’t know when my device is gon na, get the update with every android update. There’S always something to love a cool easter egg to search for and usually a host of, new features, bug fixes and things that make your life a little bit easier. But, of course, we all know about the lag time between pixel devices and the rest of us. Getting the updates people, it’s a two-tiered system to say the least, and it has fed my fomo for years. Is it getting any better sure i mean the time between release and the rest of us. Getting the stable android update is getting smaller, but this year is a prime example of why releasing a stable operating system so quickly might just not be worth it being in the business of tech. It’S hard to get away from fomo.

Someone else gets the latest or greatest tech software getting all that excitement and then you’re just playing catch-up. It sucks it’s made even worse when i’m supposed to be the tech guy for my entire family of pixel users and i’m the only guy using a different brand of phone. If i could be honest with you for just a second, i was almost thankful that over half of google’s own pixel devices didn’t even get the update on day one. It’S frustrating when you can’t answer the troubleshooting questions, so it was at least a blessing in disguise that i only had about half half to a quarter of the questions as normal with android 12.1 or i mean android 13.. Sorry they’re they’re very similar, like i was saying this build of excitement the announcement and the inevitable letdown, while users wait for the hundred or more bug, fixes and patchwork to come through, has truly created a fatigue where we have to ask. Do people really even care about the latest android? Are they just happy to stick with something a bit more stable? According to android platform, api version distribution, only around 13 of android-powered devices are even running android 12. and the number of users on android 13 will inevitably be a lot lower than that for the foreseeable future. So i’m just going to speak to google directly here for a second here’s, an idea, google slow down a bit, maybe switch to updating once every 18 to 24 months. Maybe that would help and then the two to three months. Wait for the rest of us wouldn’t seem so annoying and feel so bad. Maybe the hype could actually have a minute to take shape. Maybe you’d see a higher adoption rate to the latest and greatest we spoke to some of our pixel using friends that don’t work in the tech space they’re not excited at all about android 13..

Now you and i both know that there are valuable improvements, but the resounding comment was simple: my phone works just fine right now why the heck? Are they changing it? Now? Let us know, are you running android 13’s beta or a stable version of 12, something even older is the fomo fatigue setting in for you. Let me know in the comments down below and maybe we can start a therapy group together with. That being said, that’s my rant. Take care, be kind, make sure you subscribe, because i’m ryan and i’ll see you on the next one.
