Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Nothing just announced its first smartphone… – Nothing Phone 1”.
In this article, we’ve got nothing to talk about, that’s it. I mean nothing. No, no! No! What i meant to say was that we’re going to talk about the company, nothing, i’m harley morano with android authority and in this article we’re going to be discussing the company’s latest announcement, the nothing phone one for those of you who are unfamiliar with the brand. Nothing is a company started by former oneplus, co-founder carl pay, and to this day nothing is only really known for its year. One wireless earbuds, which you can learn more about on our sibling site soundguys recently, however, nothing has announced that it will be launching its first ever smartphone and its second product overall called the nothing phone one according to carl pay.
The phone one is designed to be a direct competitor to the likes of apple and its walled garden. In fact, pay hopes that the phone one would open the gates to a device ecosystem that isn’t built on brand exclusivity. Specs wise, nothing didn’t reveal much and according to the keynote, the phone one will be powered by a snapdragon processor, though, which specific processor remains to be seen. Storage memory, cameras, battery life and performance is still unknown when it comes to the phone’s design. Nothing pretty much gave us nothing to go off, the company didn’t show any photos or renders of the device, and all we got were some cryptic symbols. In the background that may hint at the phone’s design, we at android authority speculate that the phone one may follow. A similar design language to the nothing ear, one potentially featuring a transparent casing, while nothing was pretty sparse. On the hardware front, the company did have more to say when it came to software, the phone one will be launching with a custom. Android skin called nothing os, which is described as pure android, with some subtle tweaks to deliver a fast and smooth experience. Nothing has also confirmed that the phone one will get three years of os updates and four years of security patches, which nearly matches google’s commitments with the pixel 6 series. Now, if you’re a fan of old school oneplus, this announcement might seem a little familiar to you. That’S because the way nothing describes its operating system is essentially a callback to the terminology. Oneplus uses to describe oxygen os, and this is hopefully a sign of good to come for nothing. And lastly, the company says that the nothing os launcher will be available at some point in april way ahead of the phone one’s release. But what do you think about nothing’s latest announcement? Are you excited for the phone one? Let us know in the comments below we at android authority are really looking forward to getting our hands on both nothing os and the phone one so make sure to stay subscribed to the website and visit our website for the latest updates. I’M harley moranin and i’ll see you in the next article you .
