Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “NEW Apple Vision Pro Unboxing & Hands-On!”.
What’S going on guys, it’s Trav consumer, and today it’s Apple Vision Pro Day, so we finally got this inhouse and I’m excited to try this thing out. Well, not try it out. I tried it out like four times, but I’m excited to have my own and we even got the little marshmallow travel case which we’ll touch on in a little bit. I made sure to avoid any unboxing videos, so I can experience this for the first time by myself. So let’s check it out so obviously, in the front, you’ve got the Vision Pro back. You’Ve got specs or at at least the storage capacity that you selected, and you got your tabs to open it up all right and let’s pull up always nice with the presentation man. So this is it. This is the Vision Pro wait hold on. Oh it’s on a platform now, what’s nice about this, is you have a place to keep the Vision Pro like in case you don’t have a travel case or anything you can just place it right here here like on a desk or something that’s nice.
So we’ll get to the Vision Pro in a second: let’s just see what else comes in the Box? Some paperwork, so you got a polishing cloth, oh hold on oh baby. This is a nice polishing cloth. I’M a geek about this kind of thing. The other Apple polishing cloth a little thick.
This is this: is nice? Oh man Apple used to make the best microfiber cloth back in the day, but anyway over here we have the light seal cushion. So this is a part that will go inside of the Vision Pro, so this is basically what’s going to keep the light out, so you can just be immersed in what’s going on, hopefully, no light bleed so over. Here we have like an actual booklet of.
What’S in the box, how to position it all that good stuff, so everything you need to know is going to be right here, and this is the Dual Loop band. So in case this single band isn’t going to work, for you Apple includes another option where you can strap this to the top of your head and the back of your head, and, of course this is our battery pack. So this is what is going to be giving the Vision Pro juice you’re going to be strapping this onto the headset, it’s like a little portable charger. You think this is heavy. This is heavy yeah Dom. What do you think heav? I know thing and of course, you’re going to need to charge the battery pack, so it includes a braided USB ctoc cable as as well as a 30 W charging brick 30 WS. That’S all it needs okay, but all right we got all of our accessories. It’S time for this guy, I love that it includes this protective cover, because there’s glass behind this, so you’re going to want to keep it safe at all times, because it is really expensive to repair this. I’M talking like, I think it was 25 or 20 24 or 2500 bucks to fix the glass we’re talking repair already already. This is for sale.
Listen if you drop it. I know I’m I’m considering Apple Care, I’m like should I pay for it Apple Care. Is the greatest investment sold day all right, you got me it’s crazy that this thing is actually here. I feel, like we’ve been talking about it for so long, and I’ve only seen it in the demos, so it’s nice to actually have it now. It is important to hold it by the aluminum frame, because this part is removable, so it’s held by magnets, but if you try to hold it by this part, you can kind of see it’ll come right off and then that expensive glass comes crashing down. You don’t want that to happen. This is the band that you can see is really stretchy, and this goes behind your head and you can actually use this dial over here to make it a looser or tighter fit, depending on what’s comfortable for you and you can actually take the band off by Just pulling that and then you can go ahead and add this onto it if you want, but me personally, I feel like I like the look of the the single band.
This is what I’ve been sold like. This is the look that I want you know, so I think I’m going to go with that. So this light seal cushion. This is a w. What does this one say w yeah? This is slightly wider. Can you see that yeah yeah it’s slightly wider, so w, so they give you a backup size in case this one doesn’t work and when you take off that light seal, this is where, if you use prescription lenses, those Zeiss lenses will go right in here. I don’t have those, but in the book it kind of looks like this. You’Ll have those lenses you’ll put them in. So anyone who wears contacts or glasses, you get a prescription, you throw them in here and that’s how you use it. Unfortunately, you can’t just throw on glasses and uh. Give these a try. Sorry jay, I’m sorry! Well, we give it a try. You’Ll see what you see.
If you want I’m going to give it a try. Cuz, my prescription doesn’t even work on that Vision Pro. It doesn’t support it, not for the pre.
Oh, I Feel Free, I’m sorry all right, so we unboxed it, but now, let’s actually talk about the Vision Pro. The Vision Pro is a headset that has a ton of cameras lined all around it. There are actually cameras on the inside as well. These cameras will track your eyes, which is the main input for using the Vision Pro so, depending on what you’re, looking at you pinch and then you’re able to select it now.
This does have an apple M2 Chip. So it’s a full-blown computer and, of course, with a computer you’re going to need your all kinds of vents. So right here on the top right right, we have our digital crown. On the left side, we have our top button, so we looked at this side. This side has the dial to lock in the fit, but on this side we have the battery portion.
So this is where you use magnets. You start down here and then you, okay, see that little LED indicator. It is getting power and then that’s basically it now.
I don’t know if you noticed this part as well uh, but this is where your speakers are, so the speakers will be right here and let me tell you guys: I’ve used it a few times. The speakers are surprisingly good um. But if you have the latest airpods with USBC, you can get lossless spatial audio. It’S probably the best thing you can pair with this in terms of audio, but we’ll touch on that when we actually test everything out all right. So we’ve touch on pretty much everything here, we’ll get into that in a second, but I just want to take a look at the travel pouch really quickly. So this little marshmallow is what Apple sells to travel with your Vision, Pro 200 bucks, but it let’s see it, has this band at the top. Okay, it’s retractable, so you can uh, pull it up and hold it. My only thing is like it’s large, so you kind of have to hold it in your hand, you think it’s going to be in the bed.
It’Ll take up a huge amount of space. Now, when you open it up, let me get to opening it up. So, let’s see when you open this up, oh it’s an accessory pouch, so you can put it in your polishing cloth, USBC, cable and adapter. So you’re going to throw that in here and then I guess you throw your Vision Pro over over here as well. Oh and then the battery goes inside, of this guy then boom and then you pretty much just uh close it up and your vision proos inside of here, but all right, that’s enough of what comes in the box accessories, I’m going to go ahead and set this Guy up and give you a small peek into what it’s like to actually use it all right. Here we go. Oh man, I see the I see the light. Oh, do you see the light up front now? Yeah, oh, not bad! I can look at my iPhone with no problem and look it’s showing Vision.
Pro look here with the Vision Pro look at your hands to set up and that’s the motion right there. That’S how you’ll be pretty much navigating this whole thing, so it’s specifically an index in the thumb middle finger. Didn’T work yeah, just this, these two optic ID, so it’s not face ID. So I just set up a new kind of security feature where it’s called optic ID.
It uses your iris to add a security measure similar to like face ID or touch ID. You know what guys I’m just going to finish. Setting this thing up and then we’re going to talk about some of these little things that you uh you can do here. Okay, so I’m all set up – and this is where the video takes a bit of a turn because now you’re seeing it from my perspective, we got Jay, we got Dom and we got the home screen. So I could actually just use the digital Crown hold it, and I can have this right in front of me, so I’m going to go ahead and set up my Persona now so with Persona you can still do. Facetime calls with a simulated version of yourself The Vision Pro is going to capture my face and turn that into an avatar so that I can get on FaceTime and it sort of look realistic.
Slowly. Turn your head to the right now now slowly turn your head to the left now tilt your head up tilt your head down. Smile with your mouth closed then make a big smile with your teeth, showing now raise your eyebrows Close Your Eyes For a Moment. Capture complete this is kind of loud on the outside. Okay, your eyes in there yeah wait. You can see my eyes now. I see your eyes now. Oh wow see the Persona looks it looks pretty decent interesting. It’S so dark right here makes it look like. I have a really pointy goatee wow.
Okay, I mean it looks like me. It Absolut looks like me. It looks like it looks like if I was put into Ready Player one I like if I would have looked like those characters, but still look like me. This is what it would be.
That’S a that’s, a great compliment, yeah yeah for sure, and you can change the lighting too, so Studio lighting Contour now did it capture. Oh, it captured some of my clothing as well, so I’ll always have this fit on with FaceTime. I think we covered the basics. We got the Persona, we did the hand thing. I guess. Let me come back to the real world. Man, that’s kind of wild, it is wild in here you guys now. This thing is expensive.
It starts at $ 3500 and depending on the amount of storage, if you go each level up, it’s an extra 200 bucks, but you can get up to 1 TB now today, we’re just going to be straight up unboxing this thing, but if you want more details On the specs and everything like that, I’ll include links down below to my first video about it, where you’ll get all kinds of info that you might not find in this article but yeah guys.
