Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “National Maker Faire: Dale on the Street with Reno Maker Faire”.
Hi I’m Dale Dougherty here at national Maker Faire and i’m here with organizers of obviously from their shirts, the Reno Mini Maker Faire yeah. We would tell artists who you are: I’m Chrissy klinke the producer of the Reno Mini Maker Faire and I’m jasmine. I was a participant and I help with designing our okay a participant. My name is Oscar Ratliff and I work for the VP for research and innovation, and we are supporters of this great event at the University of a dorito, their ego and your librarian Todd colgrove.
He was here, and he spoke the other day, just a wonderful man. There aren’t too many people that are physicists and have degree in library, science, but there’s a lot happening on the campus because of that makers face at the library yeah. We were actually part of the West Coast, most innovative maker spaces and make magazine yeah yeah, that’s great and tell me the fair was made 30th May thirtieth in Reno.
We, it was at the innovation center and the discovery museum as well and how’d it go. It went really well definitely successful. We had actually double the amount of makers this year, so we had such a blast and it’s really cool to have such an event in our community. And how was your experience here at the National Maker Faire? It’S been amazing.
Actually, having the opportunity to come and not only represent, you know Reno, but represent the university and dl mary library, and you know being here at the National and just seeing everyone across the United States. It’S really cool to see this in this movement. So we have students from the University here actually they’re running. Our booth is our is our student at students that work in the library? What are some of the projects? I saw them the other day. They were 3d printing and yeah.
We have the makey makey, kids oculus rift, the leap we have soldering. I mean you name it. We also have laser cutters and laminators and vinyl cutters and 3d printers and scanners.
I mean we’ve got, we’ve got a lot of and jasmine. What do they have you doing? I usually do photoshop, so I design most of the posters yeah super posters. I saw some laser-cut versions of that logo right very nice, very good, so um. Thank you for being here. It’S good to connect with you and take a goodwill back to reno and spread the word. Thank you.
