Movers & Makers: Sebastopol Micro Greens

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Movers & Makers: Sebastopol Micro Greens”.
We started kind of basically in our kitchens and then on my deck. I had some benches and tables out there. I was growing there and kathy put up, saw horses and two by fours in her backyard, and we just had to do something to get them out of the house and into a legitimate space for growing right now, we’re growing 42 different varieties. But first we start with a tray of organic soil into that we put organic seed.

We water it seed to deliver out the door for somebody to use on their plate about 10 days. The thing that makes the transit connect perfect for our business is the fact that it came with a catering package. So it has these wonderful shelves that our micro greens fit perfectly side by side. We can adjust the height we can adjust how far apart they are. When we pull up to a restaurant, all we have to do is open.

The back doors slide out the cater racks, and there are our micro greens waiting to be handed off to a chef. Sometimes the chefs are so excited for their delivery. They actually come out to the transit connect. Hey.

What do you have in there for me? Can i see and see what their you know, what we’ve got for that day, the most satisfying part is when i bring the microgreens into a chef, a lot of them say it’s like me, bringing the garden to them and that’s what they really enjoy about it. When we first started, our original idea was to do a small project and we figured okay we’ll take as far as we can and then we’ll say: hey wasn’t that great they’re beautiful the little plants are beautiful, they’re, it’s just wonderful to come in here in the Morning and just see everything growing, it’s kind of a tapestry of color and it’s all alive – and this has just kind of started from a simple project that kathy and i took on to becoming a thriving business. So we’re lucky. We get to do what we love to do every day. .
