Foreign World Congress – I don’t know about you, but this continues to be one of my favorite shows I’m not really sure if it’s because of Barcelona or the fact that we get to see a lot of the cool Concepts and flagships that’ll Define our year now. This one was interesting: we didn’t get the typical players, we actually did get more of other things like folding screens, one-inch, sensors, affordable laptops and tablets, and even some weird teasers, I’m Jaime Rivera with pocket. Now – and this is our list of winners for best of mwc 2023 sponsored by techno – let’s start with techno the company – then just won an award, but was also kind enough to sponsor being at the top of this list, their megabox series caught RI, because the company Was able to combine the latest Hardware into one of the most elegant and price friendly products? We’Ve seen the mega book S1 focuses on being a portable workstation for a professional who needs reliability and higher tier performance. It achieves this with Intel’s 13th generation processors and a powerful 16 gigs of RAM. Then you have to consider the 3.2k matte display.
That’S been matched with a six speaker setup and things get even better for Content consumption and then, on the other hand, we have the mega book T1, which serves as a great laptop for younger members of your family with a powerful package. That’S priced aggressively at nearly 500 bucks all while providing great performance and fun color options. Thank you, techno for sponsoring this segment of the video. You don’t know if will happen, but Motorola just changed that the Riser concept was something I saw about a year ago under embargo as a prop. This is actually the first time that I saw it in person and boy. It’S a looker as small as an iPhone Mini when retracted and as tall as a pro Max when extended, but then can give you functionality on the back screen for a selfie mirror or as a quick display to interact with like seriously. Whoever came up with this bold idea deserves a prize.
Even the case was meticulously designed to enable this form factor and not add bulk. I even love how it’s aware of content to extend the screen whenever you want to watch a video. This is probably one of my favorite products of the show and speaking of Concepts. Lenovo also showed us what the company can do with similar Motors and roll-up roll displays, but now, on a laptop from the back, this looks like a regular 13-inch thinkbook, but once you press a button that extends the display and you get over 15 inches of a Gorgeous OLED, that’s there to pack a punch and sure I would have loved it to extend sideways, but that would have made it top heavy. It’S interesting to see. Lenovo bet on this tall approach to the form factor which we’ve seen on their other projects. The only question now is, if we’ll see it to reach the light of day, because it is pretty cool next up. Let’S talk about honor, the company has really been owning it at the show this year, so must show that they’re actually winning two Awards. The first further honor magic vs, which honestly has me pretty impressed it’s gorgeous it’s powerful. It’S far, thinner than the z-fold 4 offers a better cover screen, handles the crease better and even manages to pack a good set of cameras. But yes, it did launch in China at the end of last year, but now we have it in the global markets and the price is pretty up. There.
You’D think the company was done, but mwc saw the launch of their magic 5 Pro, which isn’t just gorgeous and unique in its design, but also the company’s most powerful phone. Thanks to the Snapdragon agent 2 and the trifecta of great cameras. We’Re used to getting from this lineup I mean I’ve taken some of my best concert photos from a distance with last year’s magic 4 Pro. So I can’t wait to test this phone in my forward you coming soon now.
The last thing I would have ever thought was a good idea was earbuds that fit into a watch, but that was until I had a chance to try it. Huawei’S watch buds are honestly a watch you would have never assumed could open, but then does to reveal the two earbuds inside, as you can expect. The watch performs just like any other Huawei watch even up to the battery life, but to have the functionality of a pair of buds, that’s even smart enough to be used on any ear and that you can control these through touch on any ear and yeah. I agree: it’s pretty awesome and once you notice the implementation of the price at around 449 dollars and you’re pretty much getting airpods Pro and a watch for the price of an Apple Watch.
I like it a lot when there was Oppo. The company announced a lot of iot products at the show and sure I did get to see the find then to flip a week before mwc. But for me this was the clamshell of the show.
This design is gorgeous. The outer display is larger than anything out there right now and after using it for weeks, this mediatek dimensity processor has proven to be more powerful and efficient than I expected. The price is aggressive, The Craze got addressed and we finally get a great pair of cameras on a modern flip phone. This device definitely deserves an award raising the bar for what we can expect for this form factor I’ll. Tell you more about it in my full review and as for more of the one inch sensor, conversation yeah.
Let’S talk about this xiaomi Mi 13, Pro which I know I’ve said that I hate reviewing mirrors, but I’m gon na. Let this slide, because this phone just really brings everything you can expect from this Leica integration that I’ve missed. Yes, there’s this massive camera specifications, but the tuning is always most important and Leica always delivers now with xiaomi and then match this with a Snapdragon agent, 2 and all the other specifications. We’Ve come to expect from this lineup, and you bet this phone is something you should totally consider expect more on this as well, in our review coming soon as for OnePlus, yes, we did see their concept OnePlus 11, and I can’t tell you I’m impressed.
That being said, since I didn’t go to India for the cloud 11 launch, this was my first chance to see the OnePlus pad and wow. I loved it so much that it’s hard to not award it as one of my favorite tablets of the show. I won’t blame you for thinking that it looks like an iPad Pro, but so what this combination of peripherals, the color of the screen, the mediatek diamond City, 9000 and so many other elements that come with the product are honestly pretty great. I’Ve been wanting great Android tablets, not just from Samsung seriously.
The world needs competition, and this is one of those products. I seriously cannot wait to try. Last but not least, let’s talk about TCL. Yes, I do miss their Blackberry days, but I love their new approach to wearables. I love their TVs and what they’re doing with one particular technology see? I love math displays and this TCL next paper 11 is their latest iteration. We saw their laptops at CES. We awarded them, but now it’s great to see a tablet at a very affordable price that feels like paper even up to its stylus input. The company now has boosted the screen brightness to a point where it’s far more usable outdoors and for the price of barely 250 bucks. I mean you can gift this to any family member without hesitation. The company is making it really hard to compete with its prices, and I don’t blame them since they pretty much build their own displays for their TV, so they can be more vertically integrated foreign. What can I say I mean? Yes, mwc is no longer the show of Samsung Galaxies and, yes, I do miss LG. I know you do too.
The show has evolved, and I also feel the competition of these brands has evolved to see these companies like techno TCL, disrupt with value and then Oppo, honor and xiaomi do the same with their flagships is really what the market needs. I think the market is desperate for new ideas and for trade shows to be about cool form factors, and I think that this is what we saw at mwc 2023.
