Massive 3D Printer at Maker Faire New York

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Massive 3D Printer at Maker Faire New York”.
Hi, my name is Steve: Wygant AKA part nanny from simi cnc we’re located in Indiana, and we have been making 3d printers for about three years now, primarily, what we do is make the Delta 3d printers that you see the Orion and most max machines, and lately We’Ve made the part Betty. The part, daddy is a actually 17 foot tall printer that can print nine and a half foot tall objects four feet in diameter. It’S nozzle is four millimeters. It’S printing right now at about forty five millimeters per second two millimeter layer Heights. At a five millimeter extrusion whip – and this is a popular one – I’m sorry I forget the artist it’s a carabiner that you’ll see her in a minute. It is a huge one.

That’S seven times the scale of a part that the artist made this. So it’s really fun. It was something I did for fun.

I’Ve had lots of people ask, or you know, sell this I said I don’t know is what we really do. Are these little machines that are so popular for people to print at home? You know people come around the corner. I think one of the most amusing things for the people that they get their cell phone out. They want to take a picture of the part, daddy and they’re standing about five feet away from it.

It hold their camera up like this, and then they go like this and then they go like this again. They move back like twice, but it’s all for fun and we are definitely all having fun. We chose the Delta designs. We were looking at Johan Rachelle’s at the metrics makerspaces work, so as another open source work by Johan that when he first got at printing, we were like really interested like the rest of the world and its unique.

That’S uh it’s hard to be unique in this age of printer, so we decided to go with the unique machine and be the first company to sell. If you want to learn more about our desktop printers, go to see me C .
