Thank you today, I’ll be trying out the mbot ranger. It’S robot kit made by a company called makeblock. Let’S check it out, here’s everything that will be included with your three-in-one robot kit. You’Ll get two track style tires two round tires: various body pieces, a battery holder, couple, sensors wires, connectors, tires two Servo Motors and, of course, the brains of the operation. This kit also comes with all the tools: you’ll need to assemble each of the three robots. For this demonstration I’ll be assembling the Lan Ranger, so let’s get right to it. The mbot ranger is a great teaching tool from the assembly all the way to the programming it’s enough of a challenge for middle and high school students.
It’S got a simplified interface, making it a great teaching tool for kids, ages, 10 and up. I took my time with this assembly. I think I had it finished up in just under 30 minutes.
The land Rider looks really cool once it’s all assembled. I was really impressed by the quality of this robot. The body is made from what seems like a really high strength. Aluminum and the sensors are high quality as well. I feel like this robot can handle some pretty rugged terrain, especially with these big tire tracks.
On it, the computer has a few built-in sensors. It’S got the two external sensors connected to it as well. This robot can be controlled with pretty much any mobile device or PC simply download the make block app in the app store and you’ll be using your Lan Raider. In no time now that I’ve downloaded the makeblock app, I could connect the robot and start having some fun on the settings.
Page. All you need to do is locate the robot you’ll be using for us. It’S the mbot Ranger with the robot powered on the app will connect to it automatically. This is the drive mode.
I’Ve got complete control over the robot and I can use all of its functions. It’S got a couple quick commands here at the top. It’S also got a button that plays a sound and it’s got another button that controls the onboard LED lights next I’ll demonstrate the driving run mode. Here you can draw a line and the robot will follow that path.
Although we got the robot back, we can try out the musician mode which allows us to play music. Just Like a Piano. It’S even got four songs pre-programmed into the software, here’s a happy birthday to them for the robot’s first day alive foreign, this robot even has voice control, go forward dance, it’s kind of shy when it comes to dancing, but not bad.
For its first time, it’s got a sensor that allows you to follow a dark line on the floor and a front sensor which helps it avoid obstacles. I didn’t know this during my assembly, but the app has a built-in instruction manual, which is really easy to follow. It even gives you a 3D visual of whichever step of the assembly you’re on if you’d like to learn more about the mbot ranger check out the link below or visit makeblock.com .
