Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “”Low-Tech” That CHANGED My Life!”.
So these days, technology is used to describe recent devices like computers, smartphones, audio equipment, but in actuality. Technolog is all about developing the things that make life better and easier. So today we’re going to be talking about a few things that I use on a daily basis. That might not be what you think of when you hear Tech, but they’re helpful gadgets nonetheless, and based on these poll results, you guys seem here for it. So the first thing is actually something: that’s right in my pocket and listen: don’t get confused. I’M not talking about the iPhone it’s this guy right here.
This is the aumu magnetic phone stand and box cutter. Yes, you heard right box cutter, so first things. First, this is a MAG safe phone stand like you know, you’d expect uh.
You can just prop it up. You can use it like a fidget spinner, although I will say this thing does get very loose over time. This used to be able to prop up the phone with this angle, not so much anymore, so you might be wondering so Jud why you still got it on man. It’S not it’s not like it used to be well.
The big kicker here is that when you pop this thing off, there’s actually a small ceramic blade. So, instead of walking around with like your typical box cutter, I’m always ready because something that would normally live on. My phone also serves the purpose of being able to unbox or cut things open. Now I open a lot of boxes every day, so this thing is extremely useful.
For me. It also comes with these Rings. Let’S say you don’t have a phone with mag safe. You can just throw this ring on the back of the case and it uses is an adhesive to stick onto it and then this magnetically attaches to it.
So, no matter what phone you’re using you could also use this kickstand. If you want the night and check this out guys so that same brand alumo, listen, nobody sponsoring today’s video, not Al lumu, no one else, but they’ve got some cool stuff, and this is something that I have literally attached to my 16-in MacBook Pro, and that is Their kickstand, so you see it’s got these little legs that uses an adhesive to attach to the back of whatever computer you’d want and then basically, when you’re ready to prop it up and use your computer, all you do is hit these. They pop open and now you’ve got your laptop just propped up like you would have with a normal stand. This is something that I saw a lot of you guys asking about, and I think a previous video you guys just saw me randomly do this and you’re like wait, a minute you’re not going to just ignore the fact that you propped up your laptop like that And it’s great to add to a laptop if you just want to have an elevated display or maybe you’re working with, like an old laptop that needs some better airflow and you want to get it off of the surface. Is a nice way of being able to do all that without adding any bulk or bringing around an extra laptop stand? So next up is something that I showed on the channel years and years ago.
I can’t even remember the video, but what we talked about was this phone holder for the shower, and I know some people might be wondering: why do you need a phone in the shower? Well, you know I like taking long showers and I like watching YouTube. So I’m not going to lie. I watch Apex text while showering or maybe, if I’m just in the middle of a phone conversation.
I can just prop my phone up now. I do have a LoveHate relationship with that thing because sometimes when you know you’re showering water gets on your phone and of course it makes the phone go crazy. Then I found on Amazon that these exist, so these are phone holders for the shower, or I mean I think even kitchens as well. I wouldn’t use. I don’t use my kitchen, so I can’t even I can’t even talk, but the idea here is you have a mount that you can basically peel the back off and then you place them mount on the walls of your shower or anywhere else in your bathroom. Then, with this case, you can pop it open. You just put your phone in like this lock it in and you can still access the touchscreen and then bam, and this is genius because your phone doesn’t get wet while you’re using it. So you don’t have any issues charging it after you come out the shower. You can still hear the audio just fine, and it just does what it’s supposed to do, but again not something that turns on or anything but changes everything now a lot of the stuff that we’ve been talking about, still kind of works with other Tech that powers On and you know the standard stuff, what we got next very different – these are the kind of things that I personally use that you typically wouldn’t see me talk about on the channel, but they’re still really cool gadgets. So first things first is this guy.
This is actually used to hang up art now. This is the one that I’ve been using for a long time but, of course, searching through Amazon for this video, I found even better versions. This guy I got for like 26 bucks, I believe, comes with the same tool but like in green, but it also also comes with all the other things that you need for hanging art and a pretty dope Hammer to do it. Let me show you in action, so I want to get this up, and this makes doing that super easy. These guys right here are basically where your art will hang so, with the thread that you’re going to be using. You could either have it on one or two, depending on how much support it needs, there’s actually these little metal pieces that puncture the wall, so that you can know exactly where your hooks need to be.
So all you basically have to do is throw your art, on top of it, find out where you want it to live. Basically all right. This is good right, yeah! Okay, I remove this and then all I have to do is press this button right here to mark it, and now I’ve got my hole so that I can just Mount this this thing it’s got tape all over. It look, look, I wasn’t lying, you see and just like that, we’re good to go – and I didn’t mention it before, but this thing also has has levels on it, so you can make sure everything is all lined up properly.
For me, this is just cool because I put up a lot of Art in the different rooms that we have in my home in the studio and something like this just makes it really really easy to get it done. I mean you guys saw this took like 2 seconds, Not a Bad Thing to keep in the house all right, you guys so the next one is at home. It’S over here. No, it’s not the like high-tech microwave or anything. It’S actually this guy. So what we’ve got right here, you you guys, is a microwave cover with a steamer.
I don’t know about you guys, but this is fairly new to me and it was mindblowing. So basically the idea here is it’s. It’S a microwave cover right, but you can add water into this area and it can steam your food, keeping it nice and moist. So if you’ve got leftovers or anything it’ll, keep it moist and feeling really fresh.
The fact that this thing exists is mind-blowing to me because, back in the day, your boy would use paper top wet paper towels on top of the food to back in the day like couple weeks ago, couple weeks ago. Yes, I learned that in like college, I’m saying the act like you only did it back in the day, but you you still oh no, no, no. I learned it back in the day and I’ve been using. I told you this is fairly recent huh anyway. The idea of this, for me, is fairly recent. I’Ve been using wet paper towels to microwave and keep my food, nice and moist and feeling fresh like the day before.
If you never knew that, give it a try, it’s it makes a world different. It’S like a hood classic a nice little add-on. Is this piece in the center, so it’ll keep all the moisture inside and of course you know that I’ll make it a little hot and you can open it up to let the steam out once you’re ready to grab your food. Listen, I didn’t know this gadget existed until recently, but I am so happy.
We got it. I need to get one for the studio too, all right guys, so the next one is in the bathroom and this one’s a big deal for us. So I don’t know if you guys have ever dealt with eczema or if you have any skin issues, but the water you use to shower can actually play a big part in eczema flare ups because of like the minerals and water and chlorine all of that stuff. So we got some pretty cool gadgets in here that has helped my boy Austin, a ton.
We’Ve got this thing and it’s basically a water filter. So with this we mount it right onto the faucet right, where the little shower right, where that little shower. What is that called anyway, anyway, right right where the little shower thingy is I’ve got this thing hanging on it and it has made a world of difference.
Now we do a ton of different things. Cuz Austin has pretty bad eczema, but ever since we started using this after bath time, he stopped complaining about being itchy, as a parent just makes me so happy. These things were like super cheap. I also found out that they offered those over there and that is a shower head also with a filter built right into it, and even though it’s not an expensive shower head, it functions really. Well, you can press down on this little lever to access a bunch of different modes and it has really great pressure.
So, of course, for me, I’m happy I’m going to take a step further and probably get like a filtration system for the entire house, but for now for a really quick, inexpensive fix. This has been extremely helpful. All right now, this one’s really really personal. Okay, you guys, like more personal than we’ve ever been on this channel before all right. This is the ball hammock, I’m sold, and I’m telling you guys. I debated putting this on the channel for years because it’s so far from what we do, but it is literally lifechanging. Basically, it’s like having going a backpack for your stuff now, if you’ve ever on a hot day, had to do the the stretch that little extra step you take you’ll never have to do that again with these I didn’t know how much I needed this until Ariel Was just she just threw it at me? We’Ve got no Boll for this.
You guys, I I don’t believe it until you show me. No, no J, I’m not like this man. I can’t do it. I can’t it looks like it’s.
It’S legit! No! No! No, like I’m like fellas all jokes aside th. This thing is amazing. I’Ve only told like one other person about this, I think, like I’ve, only told like Carl about this in the past, I’m ready to tell the world the ball. Hammock is legit.
One last thing I’ll say about this: is I don’t know what they’ve got going on? Not every company Nails this I’ve gone to Target and try to buy some that are just like there from hannes and jockey it doesn’t compare. These are expensive for underwear. It’S really expensive, but uh once you once you try it you guys you’ll, probably never go back, but the the ball hammock technology, Game Changer. So that concludes the baller Edition the ball. I like what you did there. I like that. But that’s it you guys. This has just been some stuff that really wouldn’t make it into another video, because you know it wouldn’t make sense, but they completely changed the way. I do things on a daily basis, from opening boxes to heating up my food to how I walk around in public.
