Is The 2020 10.2″ iPad Worth Getting?

Is The 2020 10.2

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Is The 2020 10.2″ iPad Worth Getting?”.
What’S up folks how’s it going to watch hope you guys are all doing well and today we’re going to be talking about the 2020 eighth generation ipad, the 10.2 inch version. Now we have the previous 2019 version over here. The seventh generation and, as you can see from appearances, both ipads are pretty much identical in terms of display configuration resolution. They have the same exact camera configuration front to back. There are some major upgrades internally, though, on the new eighth generation, mainly due to the fact that on the eighth generation we have the apple a12 bionic hexacore cpu versus the seventh generation.

2019 version had the a10 fusion processor, which was a quad core chip. Now the composition of the a12 bionic is made up of four high efficiency cores clocked at 1.6 gigahertz and two performance cores clocked around 2.5 gigahertz. Conversely, the a-10 fusion was comprised of two high-performance hurricane cores clocked at around 2.34 gigahertz and two high efficiency, zephyr cores clocked at about 1.05 gigahertz. Now, as far as the gpu goes on the a12 bionic we’re using apple’s own g11p four core gpu and on the a10 fusion we’re using a 6 core power. Vr series, graphics, processor unit on the a10 fusion, which, although might have more cores, is still not as fast as the newer generation a12 bionic. Now the apple a12 is probably the most common 64-bit apple soc on the planet.

Right now it’s been used in the iphone 10r 10s 10s max ipad mini 5th generation, as well as the 2019 version of the ipad air, so super common, soc and uh for good reason. It delivers solid performance. Take a look at our geekbench benchmark results on geekbench 5 on the single core performance, we’re getting over 1100 points at about 2100 points on the multi-core performance. That’S a huge upgrade compared to around 700 points on the single core performance and about 1400 points on the multi-core performance on the a12 fusion on the 2019 version of the ipad.

Now, if we take a look at the antutu benchmark, which is also going to factor in the graphical capabilities of both these two tablets, you’re noticing a huge difference again, uh from the performance results we’re getting 1.6 times the performance on the new generation ipad. Uh of getting over 400 000 points versus about 250 000 points on the previous generation. All this means that for pretty much the same price, the new generation ipad is pretty much as powerful as an ultra grade, a laptop that you’re going to find out there, certainly faster than chromebooks and other kind of mid-range laptops that are priced kind of comparatively. Additionally, in a lot of instances, this is going to be faster than a lot of the entry-level surface tablets from microsoft and couple this with a nice keyboard attachment either from apple with the pad or just the standard keyboard attachment and the fact that you could still Use the apple pencil with this thing, it is a great solution for students or anybody looking for a good general pc now in terms of the battery parameters.

When we take a look at the capacity itself, we have a slightly smaller battery on the new generation. It’S rated at 32.4 watt hour battery versus we had a 32.9 watt hour battery. Both ipads, according to apple, are rated above 10 hours of video and multimedia internet playback and based on our airplane mode test, where we play a video in airplane mode, 50 brightness, both ipads, got well over a 13 hour run time. In fact, the new generation got 13 hours, 39 minutes versus 13 hours and 20 minutes on our 2019 version of the ipad, so both are excellent in terms of overall battery performance certainly are going to last uh, potentially a couple of days for a general use. Now the charging uh infrastructure hasn’t really changed too much uh, basically on the new generation ipad, we’re still using lightning connectivity on the main port. We still don’t have usbc, unfortunately, and obviously no wireless charging capabilities, but we do have a nice usb c to a lightning connection cable, as well as a new power brake that interfaces with usbc much like the ipad pros and new generation ipads. Now beyond those notions. That’S really it for the new generation ipads, not a whole lot to talk about, but definitely a nice performance of bump and a great addition for the 2020 lineup of ipads. We’Re really excited to test out the new generation ipad air.

That’S going to be coming out! Very very soon make sure you’re subscribed to the website. We would love to do a comparison between this new generation. 10.2 inch ipad versus the new generation air and possibly even a three-way comparison with the pro ipad.

Thanks again for watching see you later take .
