Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Is it safe to buy a Pixel Fold in 2024??”.
Thank you to EET for sponsoring portion of this video so before the pixel fold was announced, at least in my mind, it was one of the most anticipated devices in like recent memory. Finally, getting a foldable phone with a huge display and the awesome, Google pixel software, an amazing pixel camera, but did Google deliver the pixel fold’s been out for almost a year and kind of the shininess has worn off a little bit? Is this to fold to beat them all and if you’re in their market, for a foldable phone or just a new phone, is it still safe to consider the pixel fools so the biggest thing I love about this phone is the overall design, or at least a Feel in the hand, the aspect ratio of the outer screen is so close to perfect is about as perfect as a foldable, I think, can get uh one of the issues I’ve had with other foldables. I felt like I had to use the inner screen to get some semblance of a good experience. I’M talking specifically about the zold series of devices. The outer screen seem to be lacking in some way, but the best way I can describe it. The pixel folds outer screen feels like a regular phone.
When I use it – and I mean that in the best most complimentary way that I can – and I think it accomplishes what I think a foldable should be great at there should be normal phones when needed and tablets when larger screens are needed, and that’s this basically Does that and because of that, I found myself actually using the inner screen less than I expected. The outer screen is just so good that most of the time I was using it folded and that’s you know not necessarily a bad thing inside this is running. I think at this point the much maligned tensor G2 when it first came out.
That was much more of a downside than a positive compared to other processors that were out when this was released. The G2 was say disappointment, but after using the phone and kind of forgetting about the specs, I tended to forget about the G2 and really was only reminded when the phone got very, very warm. Now I don’t want to go out and say this is a good processor. I think the G3 is a great processor. The G2 is Google figuring things out and I think they really figured it out by the time they got to the three. But the two is just was not a home run, especially compared to what apple and qu C we doing the processor performed generally. Okay uh one area they wish I performed better was battery and foldables obviously have a lot going on. So it’s hard to expect tons and tons of battery life, but I think the fold battery life is just like is all right. Uh, probably due to the processor. I imagine a big chunk goes there, maybe just a battery size, but I am hoping with the Next Generation. Google can tackle that now. The pixel, the name pixel, is like synonymous with like cam camera, and the fold was announced.
I was hoping they would have the best camera system ever on a foldable and the camera is definitely good, but it is not the Stellar camera system that we have on the pixel 8 and I think that’s because the pixela camera system is just so incredible. Now. It’S still a pixel camera, so every photo is some version of good and if I never saw pixel 8 pixel 8 Pro cameras. Let’S say this was great and when you compare them side by side, you can definitely start to see a difference.
