iPhone 13 Pro In-Depth Camera Review (Shot On iPhone 13 Pro MAX)

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “iPhone 13 Pro In-Depth Camera Review (Shot On iPhone 13 Pro MAX)”.
The iphone 13 pro and pro max mark the third year that apple released true pro models. I have to say a few years ago we looked at pro devices as more of like a marketing tactic, which it was at the time, but i have to say with this new device: it’s not yes, it’s not that huge of an upgrade from the 12 pro And 12 pro max: yes, we do have bigger battery the a15 bionic chip and a better camera system, and some people may say it’s more of the iphone 12s. But after you see the camera system on this device, i don’t think you’re gon na think that it’s actually pretty amazing. Let’S get into this camera review completely shot on the iphone 13 pro the galaxy s21 ultra and it’s 108 megapixels 8k video recording, plus 100x zoom and the oneplus 9 pros has a black camera system are two flagship: android phones with spec pack checklist.

That would make any phone camera inferior, but what these cameras get wrong is that they don’t push creativity forward. In the same way, the iphone cameras do android. Cameras are engineered to operate more like work tools compared to iphone cameras that are designed to offer new ways of expressing mood or a feeling.

There is more of a humanities element when apple introduces a new iphone camera feature. The iphone 13 pro is capable of recording 4k at 30 fps, along with that, it features 10 bit hdr, dopely vision, hdr and prores support. Apple’S, flashiest iphone ads are for cinematic mode.

It’S an entirely new mode for iphone video that uses software to blur background over video. Much as portrait mode does for photos, unlike portrait mode, though cinematic mode doesn’t take advantage of the iphone 13 pro’s lidar sensor for creating a depth map. It just uses software to recognize human faces and bodies.

The reason cinematic mode makes for such a great demo is that it can automatically shift the focus when something happens in the scene. It locks on to the biggest face that it sees, but if that face turns away, the iphone can automatically shift focus to somebody else. In the background it’s fun to play around with and works with, both the rare and from facing selfie cameras.

You can also change the focus point as you’re shooting by tapping something in the background and lock focus by tapping again and then after you’re done shooting you can change your focus decision from time to time in the photo, app and even change the amount of background Blur for the entire video, the iphone can even execute a rack focus from a subject to another. The effect is dramatic and pretty impressive, because it’s equivalent of portrait mode for video it can have the same problems as poetry, mode for photos. It rarely works in low light.

It also can have a weird or bad cutouts around the hair, which is a little less noticeable because it’s video, but it’s still there. Finally, cinematic mode only works in 1080p at 30fps. Hopefully we can see 4k compatibility in the next iteration cinematic mode works really well within apple’s own ecosystem of apps the depth. Camera information is saved into a file that goes alongside the video, but only apple apps, like photos or final cut, can do anything with it. Right now, if you airdrop it to a mac that isn’t running mac os monterey, the iphone will bake all your depth. Choices into the file before sending it along apple tells us that it is working with third-party companies like adobe or lumafision, to make that data editable.

In those applications, the camera system on the iphone 13 pro and 13 pro max are identical this year, which means you don’t have to buy the bigger or more expensive phone to get the best photos, and i do mean literally the best photos, because there isn’t another Phone on the market that can match the iphone 13 pro at this particular moment, maybe the pixel 6 will. But we don’t know that yet, but stay tuned by clicking that subscribe button, because i will be covering that phone on this channel. The main camera has a new sensor, the largest ever put into an iphone.

It has a faster f, 1.5 aperture lens, which equates to an improved light gathering, and all of that adds up to a camera that can very quickly take in a massive amount of lighting relative to other phones, combined with some stunning improvements to apple’s computation photography. The low-light performance on the iphone 13 pro is simply second to none. Everything, looks great and has vibrant colors.

Overall, i’m digging the slightly boosted contrast as well. Sometimes the images from the iphone 13 pro’s main wide camera aren’t as sharp compared to the iphone 12 pro around the edges, but that’s to be expected, since the aperture is now faster at f 1.5 compared to f 1.6 last year, there’s less image noise in low Light and more dynamic range in low and even medium light apple has adjusted how it handles the black point. So shadow exposure is more accurate. Now too, the iphone 13 pro is just more willing to let darks be dark while accurately exposing lighter areas. The ultrawide camera. Also got an upgrade in terms of taking in more light, but it’s not a dramatic difference.

A more interesting upgrade is adding out of focus to the camera, which allows it to pick up a new trick macro photography. The way macro photography works is, as you get closer to the subject. The camera will automatically switch from wide camera to ultra wide.

Now the ultra wide has out of focus. They can lock focus on something. That’S just a couple of centimeters away: the iphone 12 pro’s ultra wide automatically turned on the night mode for three second exposures.

While the iphone 13 pro does not require night mode to take good shots in low light, which preserves more of the scene’s darkness, which is more true to life, to be honest, but it also makes the image darker than others. With that said, you can always slightly brighten that up in post, the telephoto lens has a major upgrade. It went from 2.5 x zoom to 3x zoom. That extended zoom means that it drops to an f 2.8 aperture, but any low light losses that occur are more than made up by the addition of the night mode. For this lens apple isn’t playing the super zoom 100x game. Instead, it’s focusing on quality at 3x optical zoom for things like portrait, photography and i have to say the quality is absolutely incredible. I simply love taking photos of people with the telephoto at 3x zoom, getting a natural bokeh effect without having to engage the software portrait mode is pretty impressive. The telephoto lens gets the award this year for the most improved lens profiles are a new setting in the camera app that changes the way your photos look like by default.

So, instead of applying a filter after the photos taken, you can set your iphone to have a specific kind of look right away. In fact, it instructs you to when you first open up the camera. Application apple insists that profiles are no filters at all. The default options for profiles include standard, rich contrast, vibrant warm and cool. Each one has its own little slider that you can automatically tweak for both tone and warmth. If you tweak those sliders the name of that profile, cleverly changes to match your settings.

When you set one of these profiles, it becomes a new default way. The camera takes pictures, though it will also pop up on the bottom that lets you toggle it off. So chances are you’re, probably curious. How does cinematic mode look on the front facing camera because you’re, probably considering picking up this device to use it as your new vlog camera and yeah? This is how it looks like so you guys could be the judge of that.

I’M gon na like try different lighting conditions to see how the cinematic mode holds up and i’m gon na walk around a little bit. I have my friend there in the background. Let’S see if it focuses on him when i get closer to him. Oh, oh, look at that.

Look at that and i can focus back on me so, as you can see, this is what you can expect from the front facing camera with cinematic mode on the iphone 13 pro and pro max overall in terms of camera. Apple has really knocked it out the park this year with high grade modes and better low light camera and video recording upgrades. One of the most pro features is the prores mode, which gives you more control over the video editing. There are other smartphones with high resolution. Sensors or more comprehensive advanced settings, but none come close to the iphones. It just works mentality. With this update, the iphone cameras suddenly became the best in the business.
