iPhone 13 mini In-Depth Camera Review (Shot On iPhone 13)

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “iPhone 13 mini In-Depth Camera Review (Shot On iPhone 13)”.
So the iphone 13 and 13 mini are apple’s latest devices this year released alongside the pro models, but some people just don’t want to pay those pro prices, but they still value a great camera experience and, if you’re that person and curious on how these perform well, This video is for you and in fact, it’s shot entirely on the iphone 13 mini. So without further ado, let’s get into my in-depth camera review on the iphone 13 and 13 mini the viewfinder has been mostly the same since ios 13 and the iphone 11.. You can see outside of the viewfinder thanks to the precise calibration of the two cameras that allow seeing what will be left outside of the frame in real time. The apple image processing includes all legacy features like smart hdr, night mode on all cameras and deep fusion. The night mode icon pops up automatically when a low light scene presents itself and it will take a pseudo long exposure shot handheld.

Of course, you will see the second suggested next to the night mode icon. But if you tap on it, you can change a simulated, long exposure or altogether disable it. Usually it’s between one or two seconds, but sometimes the phone will go up to 30 seconds, depending on the environmental light dip. Fusion is used when light conditions aren’t ideal. Let’S say indoors: it triggers instead of smart hdr in night mode dip. Fusion uses four frames before you hit the shutter four more once you do, and one long exposure shot the neural processors, machine learning, analyzes the image being taken and processes them differently, depending on. What’S in frame the sky or even skin tones, meanwhile structure and color tones are based on ratios, obtained by the natural unit of the a15 cpu. There is a new feature called photographic style which automatically edits a photo one element at a time applying different corrections to the subject and background you can choose between standard, rich contrast, vibrant, warm and cool.

You can tune each of these modes by your liking and set your preferred one as default. It’S like filters, but more permanent. The iphone 13 and 13 mini capture videos up to 4k at 60fps with all three cameras, and it can even do it simultaneously.

If you have the right application, all videos are digitally and optically. Stabilized apple calls us cinematic video stabilization all modes, including the 4k at 60fps as well feature expand, dynamic range thanks to smart hdr, the slow-mo option max out at 1080p at 240 fps. You can also capture hdr video straight into dobly vision format with up to 4k at 60fps. The iphone 12 was limited to 30fps. With this option, you can edit these videos on the go on your phone and you can upload them to youtube or any other platform directly or even send them to your friends.

The doble vision information is saved outside of the video stream, so the video will look normal to any non-hdr player screen and will be color boosted on any doubly vision, compatible player and display. You also have a choice between h.265 hevc and h.264 video encoders, the high efficiency mode uses h.265 and is mandatory for 4k at 60fps and hdr footage, while the more compatible modes h.264 provides easier, playback across different devices. The iphone 13, just like the previous iphones, also captures why stereo audio for video. This special sound is richer and deeper compared to just regular stereo audio.

The 4k video quality for the main camera is spectacular. The detail is excellent and i have to say the overall image looks naturally sharp the dynamic range is exceptional and the contrast is great and i have to say, the color presentation is pretty accurate. These 4k videos have to be among the best i’ve seen on any smartphone, with excellent footage and sound.

The 4k videos from the ultrawide camera are equally brilliant. They excel in everything and have to be one of the most detailed ones. I’Ve seen as far as ultrawide cameras go, i also shot some low light clips on the iphone 13 and 13 mini the one from the main. Camera is great. It has enough detail, lovely color, saturation, great contrast and stays true to life.

The dynamic range isn’t bad, given that the shot is taken quite late at night. The noise reduction is quite aggressive and takes some fine detail with it, but this is a minor issue. The video from the ultrawide camera is decent. It is darker, as the camera only has an f 2.4 aperture lens, but for some reason, if you did decide using the ultrawide camera at night, it will capture a decent video with good detail and acceptable noise and colors.

I’Ve seen a lot worse and the best description for this clip is this is the least bad video i’ve captured on an ultrawide camera for quite a while. I’Ve also shot some footage with the most important and notable feature this year, which is cinematic mode. It simulates rack focus automatically and it shoots 1080p resolution at 30fps. This mode is available on the main and selfie camera, but the question is you’re, probably wondering how does this work? Well? This is an advanced portrait mode with blur simulation for everything that should be out of focus.

It works exactly like portrait mode. The depth map is created in real time and an algorithm automatically decides, which subject should be in focus. The automatic blur works side by side with autofocus and the overall results are actually pretty good for a first generation feature. The videos are pretty good quality and if you know what they’re doing and don’t mind some post processing, you can make them pretty awesome clips. The depth map is captured outside the clip and you can easily edit these clips in imovie or even clips.

You can change the aperture, the subject that gets the focus and even a lot more. So if the auto mode doesn’t get it right, nothing is lost, since it’s all done by software, you can fix it at any time. Okay, i’m sure some of you guys are probably wondering how does vlogging look on the front facing camera with cinematic mode, because you’re, probably considering using this device, maybe for your new vlog channel or you’re, just curious on how this looks like well.

This is shot entirely on the iphone 13 mini. This is 1080p at 30fps, because you’re only limited to that option, when you’re shooting on cinematic video mode and also um. The microphone is the onboard microphone on this iphone 13 mini.

So you guys can judge the audio quality as well, but i am walking around so you can have an idea of how this exposes in different lighting conditions and how it does at keeping me in focus, even when the lighting is not so good. The apple iphone. 13 and iphone 13 mini offer a similar camera setup to the iphone 12s.

There are 12 megapixel cameras on the back and a 12 megapixel selfie camera at the front. The face id sensors are used for portrait mode selfies and their two hardware upgrades and a couple software features available this year for the new iphone 13.. The primary 12 megapixel camera has got a new sensor with larger pixels and a high-end censorship stabilization.

It now uses a larger sony sensor with 1.7 micrometer pixels versus a 1.4 we’re used to with the iphone 12.. The lens is a 26 millimeter f 1.6 aperture sensor like on the iphone 12’s main camera, but the stabilization is one of a different kind. Instead of optical stabilization, this camera now uses iphone 12.

Pro max’s sensor shift stabilization. This means that the sensor itself is stabilized in real time and not the lens akin to the in body stabilization or ibis sin on many larger sensor, digital cameras, the 12 megapixel photo from the main camera, are rich in detail, with great contrast and incredibly low noise Levels, the dynamic range is okay, not the best i’ve seen, but i can describe it as balanced and natural. Instead of over the top, the white balance is exceptional and the colors are true to life. If you’re not keen on apple’s way of using painfully accurate colors, you can always opt for the photographic styles and set the tone and hues for every photo that comes next. One thing i’m not a fan of is the foliage presentation. Sometimes the grass is good and leaves look fine other times, they’re awfully smeared.

With this new and even bigger sensor, i expected richer intricate detail, but got the same as last year’s and even the year before that it seems apple’s skills are not particularly good in this specific area. The secondary camera is identical to the iphone 12s, a 12 megapixel image with 1.0 micrometer pixels and a 14 millimeter f 2.4 lens for ultra wide photos. The focus is fixed and there is no stabilization. The 12 megapixel ultrawide photos are some of the widest shots. So far and look great on the screen and when shared on social networks, the resolved detail is all right. The contrast is great and the colors are pretty accurate.

As expected, the dynamic range is identical to the main cameras balance and not that wide. The foliage here looks even worse due to the smaller pixels and less details to work with the grass and trees are looking like oil paintings. At times. The selfie camera is also lifted straight from the iphone 12.

It has a 12 megapixel sensor with 1.0 micrometer pixels and a 23 millimeter f 2.2 lens when using portrait mode on this camera. It captures depth info with the structured live 3d scanner, so it should be taking some impressive selfies. The photos from the 12 megapixel camera are outstanding and one of the best the resolved detail is spectacular. The contrast and dynamic range are praiseworthy and the colors are impressively accurate. The noise is low and handled very well, even when shooting indoors something few selfie cameras can do night mode triggers automatically. When light is low, you can opt out of using it or correct the suggested exposure time, but i strongly suggest just leaving it because it does a pretty good job at accurately picking the best exposure time. The mode usually opts for one or two seconds exposure times and the photo is saved instantly, making it among the fastest night modes on the market. The night mode enhanced photos are brilliant.

They are incredibly detailed with excellent color saturation. Great contrast, commendable exposure and good dynamic range. The noise reduction is proficient and cleans the photos very well without taking much detail in the process. These photos are well balanced and they’re not too bright and were kept as natural looking as possible.

If you opt out for night mode, you get a little bit softer photos with somewhat washed out colors, but they are still detailed with good contrast and dynamic range and exposure is pretty good too, for non-night mode images. In fact, this is just how the scene looks to my eyes so kudos for the lifelike look overall. The iphone 13 cameras might lack the neat tricks of the iphone 13 pro and pro max, like macro mode and a dedicated telephoto camera. But if you don’t need any of those features, you won’t be disappointed by what these devices can achieve.

The apple, iphone, 13 and 13 mini are very capable smartphones. They have one of the fastest chipsets and one of the best camera systems on any device. That’S why it’s ideal for photography, video capturing on the go and great for bloggers and vloggers on a budget. My name is viktor kamanga. Thank you so much for watching this video. I look forward to seeing all of you in the next one bye.

You .
