Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Insta360 X4 – Shoot Video Without Looking!”.
What’S going on guys, it’s your average consumer and one of the most capable cameras to ever exist just got upgraded. This is the insta 360. X4. Now, I think quite a few of us have heard of 360 cameras before, but for those who haven’t this, camera has two ultra wide lenses on each side and with them you can capture the entirety of everything around it and combine it into a single video that Allows you to see everything that it can now one might think it might come out a little wonky, but the software that they use both on the camera on the phone app and even on the desktop, does a really good job of stitching it all together to Make a really clean video, and thus we get the whole 360 thing now for those of you who are familiar with the X3. Let’S talk about some of the differences between the X4 and the previous model with the new X4, it captures video up to 8K in 30 frames per second versus the 5.7k that the X3 used to do. It gives you sharper images versus the 5.7k in low light situations, though you’ll probably want to stick to the 5.7k, but when Outdoors 8K is the way to go, and we’re also just going to see overall, better quality for some of the features that the insta 360 Offers like slow motion, the Mi mode, we’ll talk about those a little bit more later. You also have a larger 2,290 mAh battery and, of course, it’s removable and that should get you 67 % more runtime. So this thing can run for 135 minutes versus the 81 minutes that the previous one did and listen. I took this thing on on vacation rolling at 8K 360 video for long periods of time, just to capture a ton of footage, and this thing lasted a surprisingly long time.
This thing also comes with a larger 2.5 in touchscreen with corny Gorilla Glass. So you get a more durable screen here. What’S also nice in terms of durability. Is that this thing also comes with a removable lens guard, so it comes with two in the box and then there’s a premium version that you can also get your hands on.
So if you potentially drop the camera, that thing can basically take the impact instead of your actual lenses, and these in 360 cameras come with and have access to a ton of accessories, but the single most important one is definitely the invisible selfie stick. It allows the camera to get different Vantage points for capturing content and it’s actually smart enough to basically crop the stick out, so it isn’t in any of your shots. Not only does this unlock a bunch of cool features and video effects, but from a practical perspective, you’re able to get clean shots of things that you might not have even meant to, and I love that, because you don’t really have to worry about missing a shot As long as this thing is rolling – and it can see whatever is going on – there’s actually another cool feature that allows it to record a few seconds before you actually hit the record button.
Of course, it’ll consume a little bit more battery, but if you really don’t want to miss any shots, that might be a really cool feature to tap into and of course, while 360 video is dope, and I was able to get a ton of shots that I Normally, wouldn’t be in the right position to get. It also does more standard capture like recording 4K 60 frames per second second and even photos up to 72 megapixels, which they call the pure shot photos that also uses AI to enhance anything that you capture now. Of course, we talked about 360 video. Now I like this, because I was able to take this thing on a family vacation and basically be able to capture everything that was going on around me. I didn’t have to worry about the kids running around and me not pointing my camera at the right direction.
As long as I had this thing rolling, it was on its stick. I knew I could get anything that might have been happening and I would miss any moment. I was even able to mount this thing onto a car and get some driving shots. I was able to get the shots.
I needed with this thing. Basically, sticking out from the hood or the back of the car, depending on the angle that we were looking for, we were able to mount this thing pretty much anywhere and get some really cool shots, and while it might be Overkill, you could even use this as A two camera dash cam, probably not the entire time, maybe for like a specific shoot uh, but you can get what’s going on on the road as well as the driver and passengers inside. So if you’re, you know, shooting a vlog video on a road trip. This could be super helpful for Content capture, so the 360 video aspect is really Dynamic, very useful, but it does also have quite a few other features. An interesting one is actually called bullet time in this mode. The camera’s going to take a slow motion shot of basically this thing, spinning around you capturing everything that it’s seeing while keeping you as the subject, and this could be pretty cool if you want to have some like really interesting transitions in your video.
I did this on my family trip. My family might have laughed at me for how you actually have to get the shot, but you do anything for the shot and I’ve done worse, like this one shot of me going from finishing a day of work at the studio to ending up in the Bahamas. For a family vacation, it uses the same, invisible, selfie, stick and a spinning Mount and both are included in insta 360’s bullet time bundle, but yeah. This is really cool.
If you want to just get some awesome shots to spruce up your videos, now, there’s also Mi mode which, like the name suggests the camera basically keeps you as the object, the entire time, no matter how you hold it, so there’s no having to hold a heavy Rig or make sure that the camera is pointing at you or making sure you’re in Focus, there’s a lot that goes into vlogging and this just kind of makes it a lot easier. And, of course, this thing has a ton of stabilization. So all the shots are really smooth. It even has Horizon lock, which basically allows you to move the camera around uh, but it’ll keep the Horizon in place. So it’s always going to be a leveled video. You can even use it as an action camera or if you want to do slow motion, you can do 4K up to 100 frames per second 5.7k up to 60 frames per second and of course, AI, isn’t everything so we do have ai in here as well. Like I said before, it enhances like some of those images: it’ll enhance the quality uh, but there’s also gesture controls. So now you can do different gestures to start capturing content. That way, you don’t have to bring the camera back to you, press any physical buttons uh. You can just do a gesture and have it capture what you’re looking for, and if you want to take it to the next level, you can even use voice controls. Now I mentioned it earlier. The software side of things here is super easy to use.
You can jump into the phone app and not only use it as a remote for the camera, but you can also do a ton of video editing there as well. You can see all of your Clips put Clips together. You can even use AI to change different aspects of your video. If you want to change the sky whatever it is, it allows you to be super creative and there’s also a desktop version as well.
It just makes it really easy to use this thing. Considering 360 video is not something you’re able to just throw into Adobe or Final Cut Pro, although in 360 now has plugins for those as well. So you can, but of course it natively runs in their own software and it gives you access to a ton of tools. So, if you’re looking to be creative, That’s Where It’s At what’s also nice is within that software. If there’s a particular thing that you wanted to focus on, you can have it Target that a single subject, and even if they ran all around I’m thinking of my son Austin here, even if they run all around it’ll, be able to follow them.
No matter where they’re going as long as they can see them – and I think that is just super cool – it can stop a parent from having to chase their kids with a camera or you know, move all around. You can just have this thing rolling and have the software track that little bugger all over the place, but yeah guys. That is the insta 360 X4. This thing I never used the X3 or the previous generations, but I am absolutely in love with this. I did have the insta 361 RS, which was really cool, but this it is just a legit option for taking on vacations or you know, trying to get special shots for a special video, I’m late to the X lineup bandwagon, but I’m all here for it.
This thing is pretty sick, of course, I’ll have links down below if you guys want to learn more or get your hands on it uh, but till next one guys it’s your average consumer peace. .
