Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Insta360 Ace Pro Might be the New Champ”.
So we got the brand new insta 360 Ace Pro co-engineered with Leica. It is the latest action camera from insta 360 featuring. Look at that 1.3 in sensor. That’S almost a 1in sensor. That is a big sensor for an action camera and hopefully it makes a difference in low light, as bigger sensors tend to do. You have something called Pure video. I don’t even know how that feature is going to operate, but it seems to have some sort of HDR effect.
4K 120 slow-mo you’ve also got Flow State stabilization, free frame, video, which is going to make adjustments for the different formats in which we post these days. Ai highlights assistant, so this is for editing after the fact, 2.4in flip screen moving display, not just all the way up and facing you, but every point in between waterproof up to 33 ft and magnetic mounting systems. Plus, you do have some gestures in order to start and stop recording lots of smarts built into the new insta 360 product, the ace Pro and then the most exciting for me is obviously that brand new large sensor there’s also a huge number of accessories expanding world.
Of accessories for insta, 360 product selfie sticks and tripods and sticky mounts and floating hand grips and even a bicycle mount that they’re showcasing here inside this package. Quite a nice little setup of different goods, different options on their website, depending on which series of accessories you want to go with your insta 360 product, in this case the Ace Pro so there it is still has that black and red aesthetic going on check out The Leica logo on the lens and what does it say, super suit, a one over 2616, a spherical Oo. We remove 1 over 1/3 in sensor f2.6 166 mm equivalent.
So that gives you an idea magnetic attachment down at the bottom, a little door over here. 1650 mAh battery easily removable and replaceable, however you’ll be able to charge it inside the housing rotating flippy display can stop at any angle to help you frame your shot, including if you’re shooting yourself look how comfortable that is record button up top power button on the Other side and another door houses your type-c connector, as well as your micro SD card slot ooh. So here is our magnetic Mount, but you can also see it has some physical Clips as well wow, that’s all it takes and off on off.
So there’s a little pinch, the magnet sort of lines it up and then those clips really lock in there and then you have to pinch to remove it. Ooh, sticky, suction style Mount obviously there’s a huge variety and world of mounting options, USB type-c, cable. So now that we’ve got that larger sensor or one of the areas that this thing is supposedly improved in is low light.
So that’s going to going to be one of our tests, we’re going to see how this does compared to a GoPro when you have less light to work with like how about doing some night, skiing or snowboarding. This initial footage I’m going to watch is the pure video mode 4K 30, and this is actually will on the ski hill doing some snowboarding and it’s at night, the GoPro 12 black on the left and the insta 360 on the right, and obviously you can tell That the stabilization is quite different. This is sort of a huge emphasis for insta.
360 is the low light performance. You’Ve got a bigger sensor, but then they’ve also got stuff going on in the pure video mode in order to denoise the frame and in order to also help with image stabilization, because it’s obviously tough to stabilize a dimly lit video. You look at the insta 360 and it’s very surprising how well it’s able to stabilize such a low lit image. The snow is far more white on the insta 360 clip. Now, it’s important to note will just busted these out of the box. Both cameras brand new essentially started running. The only thing he did on the insta 360 was just flip it over to Pure video mode. I’M pretty sure the reason the GoPro is struggling on stabilization is because of how low light the frame is. If I pause it right here, you just look down to the lights here in the Village area, and you can see a lot more detail and sort of the light that’s being cast over those Village areas.
I mean the snow is obviously more vibrant as well. It’S just a more usable image. I think what most people around here noticed right away was just how much more appealing the stabilization was in this difficult action. Camera scenario, so the AI in pure video mode is analyzing the footage applying a variety of D, noising techniques, making improvements to exposure and then saving that directly in the camera. This is you skiing here Mo High.
Well, I mean in daytime it’s even nicer. Obviously, like oh here and here’s me so the camera does 4K 60, which is awesome obviously for Action. Clips you’re, not watching this video in 60 frames, obviously you’re just getting far faster action and more frames to work with. I was wearing it on on my head. As well and I found the flippy display to be just more versatile as far as framing, I would like flip it around and then show other people on the ice I’d be like like.
How does that look? Is that the right angle for the stick handling? You can actually purchase the Ace Pro in a couple of different configurations like as far as the bundle’s concerned and there’s going to be a couple different promos, actually, which you can access via the description of this video, which include a couple of extras. But there’s also preconfiguration, like Creator kit, cycling kit, the majority of what’s going to happen here is it’s going to alter the included accessories? The flip up screen is going to give you versatility when it comes to mounting options and that’s one of the things with action. Cameras is you want to be able to place them in a number of different environments, situations angles. Here we have some 4K 120 FPS Wham, and this is this is like fairly low light as well. Is this like a basement? It’S not like Outdoors or something – and this is typically an area as well, just where action cameras in general have struggled right, but, like that’s totally usable 4K 120 uh.
Here we have a car mount, and this is in the cold too, and I was like. Are we going to have enough stick here? I was like absolutely Stick it to your helmet. Stick it to the car.
This is 8k beautiful stuff. Now, in 8K, we’re at 24 frames o tons of resolution. You know what a drill now another feature to mention is something called Clarity Zoom, so this will give you a two-time zoom without compromising image quality.
I was skeptical of this at first, because you’re always curious how the camera is achieving this Zoom. Is it strictly digital? Since you have such a big sensor to begin with, they’re actually using pixel binning in this case and you’re still ending up with a 4K image, even when cropping in to achieve that Zoom. So this has been a weakness for Action cameras. Obviously the lens is fixed. You’Re not going to have optical zoom, but when you start with a bigger sensor or more resolution to begin with, and then you move into the frame, you still end up with enough resolution or the same resolution to match the remainder of the uncropped footage. Now you’ve also got AI power gesture control. This is going to let you start and stop recordings, while handsfree recording huge red light on the front which is kind of nice too letting you know that you’re recording. I can also see the run time and I can go ahead and stop it boom saving, I mean it’s like the vibration and the sound you’re like okay, I’m recording and then I can also take a photo very seamless, easy and you can also use voice control. They’Re calling it voice control 2.0 in order to initiate a number of activities on the camera as well start recording Mark that clip boom.
I saw the flag: did you see the flag on your side? Yeah, stop! Recording the responsiveness is kind of kind of nice. Take a photo: it’s quick man, that’s quick! The other thing we’ve got is AI, highlight assistant. This is actually like a full-fledged editing component right inside the camera to alleviate some of the post- production like needing to do stuff after it helps you not not just save time, but it’s also going to save space on your SD card, because you’re kind of highlighting And editing as you go, it’s looking for the best moments in a single video than showing you the highlights to review in camera and right from there, you decide what to keep and not keep.
So this is going to make the whole process of eventually posting something easier, you’re, not sifting through nearly as much footage. You have the option of maintaining each clip individually, saving each clip as a new file. So if you want to like tweak those things later or you’re, not completely convinced that you’ve got a perfect edit, you can do that.
But if you want to be super streamlined, you can actually merge these clips into one file immediately. There’S another feature that I kind of liked, which is this ability to resume recording. Instead of ending a clip, it really feels like there’s a big emphasis here on the software side, basically to make it more in line with how people actually use camera now and where people post these videos.
Now you can just use the record button and the resume function to shoot and edit, as you go clip by clip, so many enhancements happening to a variety of products via AI, in this case, they’re calling it AI warp – and this is using generative AI as like A sort of overlay like a digital graphical overlay, on the footage that you’ve already shot. This can transform an entire clip or a portion of a clip, and it can just make it obviously far more special in the sense that you just don’t see a lot like it merging my video sick, yeah, you’ll post it y’ll post it. So there you have it, that is the insta 360 Ace Pro lots of capability here.
Low light, bigger sensor than I’ve. Seen in an action, camera can shoot up to 8K. It’S got high frame rate, obviously Smooth video with the stabilization, the low light performance, which was pretty wild and a ton of different accessories.
