Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “I’m not going back! OpenRun Pro”.
Thank you to shocks for sponsoring this video. So these days, headphones are like a dime, a dozen uh after the wireless earbud Revolution started, you can find wireless headphones and pretty much any size shape and price imaginable. At the same time, most of the headphones out there are essentially the same uh, there’s varying levels of quality, but the design and function is essentially the exact same from one earbud to next earbud. I think that’s where copy like shocks is coming in with something that is very different than what I have used before before I tell you all about the bone conduction what they can do. It’S my favorite thing to do.
First of all, to tell you that you, sir or madam, are awesome and amazing and a good human, and I want to give you guys a chance to win 500 bucks. All you got to do is live on this planet. Leave a comment down below. Let me know what you would do with your open run Pro minis uh and you have a chance to win 500, doesn’t matter where you live, let it run for 10 days of all the information you need will be down below so before I get into exactly.
Why I the open, run Pro minis are great: let’s talk about bones bone conduction, headphones, civically and overall, why you should be paying more attention to them. We’Ve heard about bone conduction for a while, and I actually haven’t used the bone conduction headphones in a few years which I went in thinking. I knew exactly what these are going to be about, but I put them on my head and my thoughts changed quite a bit. So if you don’t know bone collection headphones work by doing exactly what the name implies. Instead of using a speaker to shoot audio like right into your naked ear holes, it actually vibrates the inner ear bones to transmit the sound and if it sounds like a crazy way to listen to music, it is this. Technology actually works, and this is the first time I view the technology where it works, as you would expect, it’s actually really awesome when you compare sort of these to normal headphones start to see some of the advantages. So there’s one, I think, really big issue with traditional earbuds. They sit in your ear and because of that they can cause other issues too. So the first and biggest one is they reduce the sound from the outside world that you can hear now if you’re inside and you want to sit back and relax. It’S awesome.
Noise canceling is great, but if you’re out in the real world it’s kind of important to be aware of your surroundings. Cars coming honking trains coming at you now manufacturer of headphones, certainly know this and they started. Building in transparency modes, essentially tunnel in real world sounds into your ears.
It’S actually a pretty neat and very competent solution, but because of the bone conduction, the shocks open run Pros, avoid us all together, because there’s nothing in your ears. The headphones actually sit behind your ears, not on top of them, so you get a completely unobstructed audio from the world around you and any way you slice it that’s better than using technology to get around it. Another big issue.
This was probably the biggest one for me. Oh that’s Comfort, especially with earbuds. After a few hours of having these things shoved into your ears, they become uncomfortable as a kid.
I had ear surgery so things that go around my ears or sit in my ears. Oftentimes get really uncomfortable for me very quick and again. Hence the shocks open run Pro aren’t in your ears.
This issue is automatically resolved and these two points, I think, are key differentiators that make these really awesome options, especially for exercising and long-term use. Alright. So that’s why this technology is cool and unique, but what makes the open run Pro so good? I think the biggest question with this technology is sound quality, since these aren’t in your ears. Uh can like they can’t sound that good uh.
If I’m being completely candid here uh, the audio was definitely not great in early iterations of bone conducting headphones, you could hear it, but it didn’t sound very good at all. Over the years of this, technology has gotten really solid, and, as for day-to-day use, the open run Pro sounds pretty great and surprising that they sound this good without being in your ears, I was shocked at how good the audio quality was, but what’s most impressive, is Actually, how comfortable these things were to wear? First of all, they weigh almost nothing because there’s nothing sitting really over under your ears uh. I could have worn these things all day without any issues at all, and the audio quality is thanks to the 9th generation bone. Conduction Tech that’s built, and the Turbo pitch technology, which is going to enhance lower frequencies. Uh bass has always been probably the hardest part with these headphones, but it keeps getting better and better and the open run Pro is obviously the newest and best version. Yet I think another awesome feature too is battery life. These things can last 10 hour hours on a single charge, and that is a ton for how small and light these things are. That’S enough for probably a few days of listening when they do run out. Uh. There’S a five minute Quick Charge built in so in that five minutes you get about an hour and a half of listening time, which is perfect for those kind of last minute sessions where you forgot to charge, but you still want to listen to that last.
You know hour of your podcast aside from that uh. These are all the features you’d expect from headphones, uh they’re ip55 water resistant, so you can get them wet or go out in the rain. It’S not going to bother you and they also have dual noise. Canceling.
Microphones built in so you can take your phone calls like you can with any other pair of headphones. So I should probably talk about how you wear these things. There’S a headband that goes behind your head, uh and the more snug. It is the better so mention there are two versions: there’s the open run Pro and the mini uh.
They both feature the same things, but the mini is 0.83 inches shorter than the standard size. So if you’ve got a smaller head or want a more snug fit than that, you’ve got the option kind of making that Comfort be even better. They also come in a few colors. This is a standard, comes in black thief here: beige, blue and pink, and then mini comes in black and beige. You can get them for 179.95. So, like it comes down to this uh, the open run pro and pro mini are the best bone conduction headphones. You can buy right now they come with some unique benefits that you just can’t get anywhere else and somebody who has issues with things sitting in my ears. These are awesome to have now they’re, not for everybody, since they are open ear.
It’S great for hearing a world around you, but you want to block out the world around you. These are not going to be the headphones for you, but if you are out and about you want to be able to hear your kids, you want to be able to hear traffic, I’m going to catch up on your podcasts, listen to your music! These are an incredibly comfortable way to do it and they are the best version of relatively new technology that I’ve ever tested.
