GTX 1650 vs GTX 1650 Super — 17 Games Tested — Yes, NVidia HAS released too many cards

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “GTX 1650 vs GTX 1650 Super — 17 Games Tested — Yes, NVidia HAS released too many cards”.
Hello and welcome to tech deals to super or not to super. That is the question that nvidia has forced us to ask, since they launched updated versions of almost every card in their 20 series of lineup, with the super name attached are the supers. Actually, all that super, or is it just a bunch of do about nothing today we’re going to compare the gtx 1650 to the gtx 1650 super and answer that question. Today’S video is brought to you by backblaze the leader in online backup services, get a free, two-week trial, no credit card required using our link in the video description below more details. After the video recently, we published a review of the gtx 1650 super’s performance and we talked about the graphics card, specs and numbers in great detail.

Now, i’m not going to repeat all of that again here rather i’ll link to that video in the video description below go watch that if you haven’t seen it having said that, a quick refresher for anyone who did see it and forgot or who doesn’t want to Click on another video, the gtx 1650 super uses the same tu116 chip as the full line of 1660 cards, cut down to 1280 cores from the 1408 found on the 1660.. A standard gtx 1650 has 896 cores, so the super version is actually closer to the 1660. In terms of the chip itself, the other big change from a standard 1650 is the use of gddr6, which gives the 1650 super the same memory bandwidth as a vanilla 1660.. The limitation here is that the super still only has four gigabytes of vram, which will be limiting at higher detail settings on brand new aaa games.

Today, i’m using our standard gpu test bench that we test all of our video cards on it features the intel core. I9, at 10, 900k at 5, gigahertz on all cores 32 gigabytes of ddr4, 4000 cl 19 ram, a corsair h115i pro 360 millimeter liquid cooler, a gigabyte z490 aorus master motherboard, a 500 gigabyte, samsung 970 evo boot drive and a two terabyte, a data sx 8100 nvme Game drive that stores all of our games. GTX 1650 vs GTX 1650 Super — 17 Games Tested — Yes, NVidia HAS released too many cards

Now i won’t be reading off every performance number or showing you tons of footage from every game, or this video would take forever. Instead, i want to highlight a few games and we’ll show you the results on a series of benchmark charts in just a minute. Our first game today is also one of my favorites, the division 2.

GTX 1650 vs GTX 1650 Super — 17 Games Tested — Yes, NVidia HAS released too many cards

Now let me remind you that we’re comparing live gameplay here, so you can’t pause this and compare each card frame by frame, at least in the division. Two. However, you can compare the final results, since both runs were performed on exact, same mission in the game, so i repeated the exact mission, the same load, instanced area, and that is important for these comparisons. Now the difference here is dramatic, not just a few frames per. Second, faster here, a bit more there, the super is up to 50 percent faster in places with an average difference of 47. The extra cuda cores alone cannot account for this difference.

What you’re seeing here is also the benefit of 50 faster vram on the super versus the non-super. Next, we have overwatch a very popular esports game and, if we’re being honest, a game more suited to these graphics cards versus new aaa games, performance is excellent. On both cards, however, if you have a 1080p 144hz monitor, clearly you’d be better off with the super, as it runs above 144 frames per second more often, and it holds almost 120 frames per second 99 of the time now. The difference here is slightly lower than the division 2, with a 41 performance difference between the two cards.

It’S a shame. All the supers. Don’T have this much power in them. This one really is a huge upgrade over the non-superversion moving on to another aaa game.

GTX 1650 vs GTX 1650 Super — 17 Games Tested — Yes, NVidia HAS released too many cards

That probably wasn’t designed to run on either one of these cards, but does so amazingly well, we have ghost recon breakpoint this game, like the division. 2 has built-in benchmarks. However, i feel that live gameplay better shows what you can really expect when playing the game. The difference in performance here shrinks a bit.

It is 38 faster on the supercard. However, both are playable at 1080p, medium detail. The super maintained over 60 frames per second more than 99 of the time, while the non-super fell to a 1 low of 50, which is still pretty good, but 68 is much better grand theft, auto 5, is not a new game. However, it is still very popular and these are the sorts of cards that can still be challenged by this game.

This is also a game that runs well on older cpus, so an upgrade from a gtx 750 ti to a gtx 1650 super will provide a very noticeable bump in performance on such older systems. The super card is 37 percent faster than the non-super card, which is enough to be noticed now, keep in mind that this is the story mode which runs faster than gta 5 online. But i test this way because it’s more repeatable and lets me use the same saved game file, starting in the same spot over and over expect lower performance online either turn down the detail or just get the super card or both borderlands 3 shows us. The first result where the non-super card fails to hold 60 frames per second average, and this at 1080p medium detail.

There really isn’t any future in this card for new aaa games going forward. That being said, the super isn’t that much better at 78 frames per second average, while it’s okay, today, we’ve turned down the detail and it’s barely holding 60 frames per second in the one percent low. This is the built-in benchmark, so in real play that will go lower at times. Gears 5 is the other game in our test, suite that shows the non-super dropping below 60 frames per second average, while the super holds up with a solid 88 frames per second.

That is an amazing 52 percent improvement and one of the largest gaps in our test suite. Today, every game is going to be different. However, some will show a larger difference. Others smaller, however, overall, the 1650 super is a solid improvement over the non-superversion of the car.

Now we’re going to show you footage of four games at once to keep this video shorter dawn of war 3, deutsche mankind divided f1, 2020 and final fantasy xv. This is our first quad group of games. Dawn of war 3 holds up nicely with even the non-super card over 60 frames per second in the one percent low at high detail. Mankind divided is just one of those games that doesn’t run well, unless you give it all the gpu. Here we have 65 frames per second average on a non-super. F1 2020 is a super optimized game and will run well on a 1080p 144hz monitor on the super and, finally, final fantasy xv, our single low detail, game of the bunch even at low detail. It falls below 60 frames per second one percent low on the non-super card. Next we have horizon zero dawn rainbow.

Six siege rocket league and shadow of the tomb raider horizon is not a game meant to run on cards of this level, but the super holds up. Pretty well at medium detail, rainbow six siege plays well on almost everything here you can see, it would be solid. On a 144hz monitor rocket league is also a game that plays well on almost everything, so no surprise that it’s over 200 frames per second on the supercard shadow of the tomb. Raider is at medium detail and it shows falling well below 60 frames per second in the one percent low and barely above 60 frames per second average on the non-super card.

It’S another example of a game that really wants a 1660 super with six gigabytes of vram. To shine at 1080p here is the first chart showing the six slowest games tested today you can see the non-super is right, around 60 frames per second, while the super is above 80, most of the time moving to the middle of the pack. This shows that, depending upon which game you play, performance is solid on either card, with the gap clearly remaining across most games. The third chart shows the last five games tested all comfortably over 100 frames per second, except for gta 5, with rainbow six siege leading the way at nearly 250 frames per second, the one percent low charts show the slowest frame rate you can expect 99 of the Time it’s a very small slice of time, but it does remove some outliers that wouldn’t be noticed in normal gaming across 10 minutes of gameplay. The one percent low drops the lowest six seconds of play, which, frankly, isn’t that much when you think about it here are the averages adding up all 17 games, the non-super average 92 frames per second, while the super was at 123. The difference doesn’t matter much. If you have a 1080p 60hz monitor, however, if you’d like some breathing room on your video card, that higher frames per second will last longer on the super, the one percent low is rather interesting. The super had an average one percent low, almost exactly the same as the average frame rate on the non-super. Let me say that one more time the 1650 super had a one percent low. That was almost exactly the same as the average frame rate on the non-super card. You will not find that on any other super non-super comparison more than anything else.

That should tell you how much the super really is worth it. This is the percentage difference between the two cards averaged across all the games about 35 percent. More performance is on tap for the supercard versus the non-super, which is a solid improvement, considering how close and price these carts are. When this video was filmed, the super was only 10 dollars more expensive than the non-super. This is a complete no-brainer if you need a budget gaming graphics card, and these are the two options, it’s the super all day long. The final chart to show you is the dollar cost per frame per second, where we take the current retail price in the united states for these cards, and we divide them up by the average frames per second, as you can tell here, there’s no contest. The super is crushing card in terms of value. You get a lot more frames per second, which means. Conversely, you pay less per frame on the supercard versus the non-super.

I feel the need to point out that these cards are really for the ultra budget. End of the market, for not that much more, you can get a gtx 1660 super which has more performance, 50 percent, more memory, bandwidth and 50, more vram, providing the ability to run with higher texture details and allowing for some future games. All things considered, if you can get the 1650 super for 50 less than the 1660 super it’s worth considering for a budget gaming card, if your needs are modest, otherwise get the 1660 super skip the non-super unless it’s just crazy, cheap backblaze is the leader in online Backup services, backup everything on your computer, including external, usb, hard drives for just six dollars per month, with no limits no file size limits, no backup size limits.
