Google Pixel 7 vs. Pixel 7 Pro: Which should you buy?

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Google Pixel 7 vs. Pixel 7 Pro: Which should you buy?”.
The Google pixel 7 and 7 Pro are some of the best phones to come out of this year, but with both devices sporting such similar features, it can be difficult to choose between. The two I mean is the pixel 7 Pro really worth 300 more than the pixel 7.. I’M currently Miranda with Android authority, and in this article we are going to be comparing the Google pixel 7 against the 7 Pro and find out which one you should buy. Starting with design, this year’s pixel phones take design cues from their predecessors, albeit with some welcome refinements. For example, the camera bar on both pixel phones are now made with aluminum, and while I find this to be a nice design change, I do prefer the matte finish on the pixel 7, as opposed to the polished look on the pixel 7 Pro. It still looks.

Nice, however, the Polish just turns the camera bar into a fingerprint magnet when it comes to weight. The pixel 7 is lighter than last year’s model, thanks to a slightly smaller display and Battery. Although we’ll talk more about that later, meanwhile, the pixel 7 Pro hasn’t changed. Much from its predecessor weighing in at 212 grams much heavier than the pixel 7., although the pixel 7 may have a leg up when it comes to the design. The same can’t be said about the display. The pixel 7 Sports, a modest 6.3 inch display with a 1080p ammo LED panel 90 Hertz refresh rate and a 1400 nit Peak brightness. On the other hand, the pixel 7 Pro comes with a larger 6.7 inch display higher resolution 1440p AMOLED panel, 100, 20 Hertz refresh rate and of 1 500 nit Peak brightness.

The display also features ltpo display technology, which, in theory, should allow the pixel 7 Pro to better preserve battery life. Based on these specs, it’s clear that on paper, the pixel 7 Pro has the better display. However, it is worth noting that, regardless of which device you choose, the display on both phones are sharp, have great color reproduction and are easy to view in bright sunlight.

Really, you just can’t go wrong with either product by the way. If you want to learn more about the pixel, 7 and 7 Pro be sure to check out our full reviews on YouTube or on our website at Android authority.com. The pixel, 7 and 7 Pro are both powered by Google’s tensor G2 processor, and while it may not be breaking any Benchmark records, the phones perform very well in daily tasks. Scrolling through social media texting, taking photos and even light. Gaming are a breeze on the pixel, 7 and 7 Pro.

The tensor G2 also features an upgraded tensor Processing Unit, enabling a host of new machine learning features such as faster Nightside photos and cinematic blur, while taking video. The improved TPU also improves the efficiency of on-device tasks such as assistant voice typing, thus helping preserve battery life. The pixel 7 Series also gets an upgraded modem this year, which is something you won’t see on most spec sheets. It fixes almost all of the cellular reception problems we and many of our readers reported with the pixel 6 Series. This is another factor that should translate to better battery life, as your phone won’t have to constantly hunt for a strong signal.

Although both phones share the same processor, they don’t come with the same amount of memory. The pixel 7 comes equipped with 8 gigabytes of RAM, whereas the pixel 7 Pro Sports 12 gigabytes of RAM, while this bump and RAM technically should give the pixel 7 Pro a leg up in benchmarks. There really isn’t much of a performance increase compared to the pixel 7., especially during day-to-day use, so yeah, the pixel 7 Pro is technically the better performer. Although you really aren’t going to notice much of a difference against the pixel 7, where you may notice, the difference between the two devices is in regards to battery life. The pixel 7 comes with a 4355 milliamp hour battery, which is smaller than last year’s model, but the tensor g2’s efficiency improvements mean that the pixel 7 should have enough juice to get you through the day.

On the other hand, the pixel 7 Pro features a much larger 5000 milliamp hour battery, which should get you around a day and a half’s worth of mixed usage. If you really want to stretch out the battery life, you could enable Extreme battery saver and, according to google, enabling this won’t stretch the battery life of both phones to up to 72 hours. And if you want to learn more about extreme battery saver and other pixel exclusive features then be sure to check out this video in the corner when it comes to charging the phones both failed to impress, especially when you compare the charging speeds to other 2022 flagships. Even with a 30 watt charging brick the pixel 7’s charging speed maxes out at 21 watts and takes anywhere between 90 and 100 minutes to charge from zero to 100. The same goes for the pixel 7 Pro, which is a Max charging speed of 23 Watts. It takes roughly 100 minutes to charge from zero to 100 percent. Neither of those times are bad per se, but we’d like to see this improved in the future. Both phones, however, do support 10 watt Qi, wireless charging and double that if you buy a pixel stand, the battery life of the pixel 7 is far from Market leading, but it should be fine for most people.

However, if you are looking for the pixel, that will get you through the day and more then yes, the pixel 7 Pro is for you, the pixel, 7 and 7 Pro feature the same 50 megapixel main shooter, similar 12 megapixel, Ultra wide cameras and the same 10.8 Megapixel front-facing camera, also both phones are capable of shooting at 4K 60 frames per second on all lenses. Unlike the pixel 7, however, the pixel 7 Pro Sports, a dedicated 48 megapixel telephoto shooter, with five times optical zoom and up to 30 times Zoom with Google super resolution feature having this dedicated telephoto lens allows you to take higher quality, portraits and close-up shots, especially when Compared to the pixel 7, which can only take zoomed in Shots by cropping in on the main camera sensor, still, Google claims that its super resolution technology does such a good job that the pixel 7’s 210 digital Zoom can go toe-to-toe with an actual telephoto lens. The pixel 7 Pro is also capable of taking macro shots, thanks to the inclusion of an auto focus system on the phone’s Ultra wide camera. This is great for people who enjoy taking detailed, close-up photos of nature, including bugs plants and rocks.

Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available on the pixel 7, since its Ultra wide camera does not have autofocus. Apart from those two features, the pixel 7 is more than capable of taking good photos and videos, but if you’re a mobile photography buff, who needs the best cameras and the most creative control, then the pixel 7 Pro is the better option. If you’re looking to buy either of these phones, you have a few colors and configurations to choose from the pixel.

7 starts at 599 US Dollars and comes with 8 gigs of memory and 128 gigabytes of storage. You can also upgrade the storage to 256 gigabytes for an extra 100. The phone comes in several colorways, including lemongrass, obsidian or black, and snow or white.

Meanwhile, the pixel 7 Pro starts at 899 US Dollars and comes with 12 gigabytes of memory and 128 gigabytes of storage. Of course, you can upgrade the storage for an extra one to two hundred dollars, depending on how much more storage you need. The phone also comes in several colors to choose from including Hazel obsidian and snow. So the question stands: should you buy the pixel, 7 or 7 Pro well for most people, we’d actually recommend going for the less expensive pixel 7.. Although the pixel 7 Pro outperforms the pixel 7 in almost all categories, it’s incredibly difficult to beat the value proposition of the pixel 7. at 599, US Dollars you’re getting a phone with a premium design near Flagship grade performance, one of the best camera systems on the Market and Google’s clean pixel UI all for less than the cost of an iPhone 14 or a vanilla, Samsung Galaxy s22.

However, if you are an avid mobile photographer, want the most battery life out of your smartphone and or you just want a phone with a bigger screen, then the pixel 7 Pro may be worth the extra 300 and even at its base price of 899 US Dollars. The pixel 7 Pro is still cheaper than the likes of Apple’s, iPhone 14 pro or the Samsung Galaxy s22 plus. But I’m curious: what do you think of the pixel 7 and 7 Pro you prefer one or the other?
