Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro: Everything we KNOW and WANT to see”.
The google pixel 6 and 6 pro are some of the best smartphones to come out of last year, both with flagship quality, design and performance all at a competitive price tag. However, with the new year comes a new pixel and we’re very excited to see what google has to offer in 2022, i’m harley moran with android authority, and in this article we are going to be talking about what to expect with the google pixel, 7 and 7. Pro and go over some features, we hope to see if and when these phones are announced later this year, while we’re still months away from google’s official announcements. There are a few things we do know about its pending flagships. According to some leaked renders it seems that both phones will have a virtually identical design to the pixel 6..
This includes the daft punk s, camera visor on the back of the devices and the center mounted punch hole cutout for the front-facing camera. Honestly, i don’t mind this as the pixel 6 and 6 pro were designed quite well, thanks to its elegant, metal, frame and glass front and back. It really has a nice premium feel to it for its price, and i mean if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it right on the topic of things. Staying the same, we’re also expecting a similar camera system to its predecessors. This is indicated by the leaked renders which show the pixel 7 with a dual rear camera system and a triple rear camera system for the pixel 7 pro, which is the same as last year’s models. What won’t be the same, however, can be found under the hood for the pixel 7 series, we’re anticipating a second generation tensor soc, which is sure to see improvements in processor and graphics performance over last year’s.
In addition to improved, ai rumors also indicate that google could adopt an amd gpu since tensor is essentially a semi-custom version of samsung’s exynos soc. There are also speculations in regards to the pixel 7’s display size, which may be about 0.1 inches shorter than the pixel 6.. While this doesn’t seem like a big deal literally, it could result in a slightly smaller battery in the pixel 7.. Now that we’ve gone over what to expect with the pixel 7 series, let’s talk about some of the things that we’re really hoping google brings to its latest flagships.
First, off the price google’s highest end flagship, the pixel 6 pro was already a good deal with its 899 us dollar starting price, but the baseline pixel 6 was an absolute steal for just 599 us dollars, and these prices are what helped the pixel lineup compete with A lot of other flagships on the market and we’re really hoping that google maintains their pricing scheme come october. Other things we’d like to see from this year’s pixels include more pro exclusive features. Again, the pixel 6 pro was impressive when it launched equipped with its 120hz qhd plus display slightly bigger battery and additional periscoping camera.
But were these features really worth 300 more than the standard model? We don’t think so, and a lot of consumers didn’t think so either. Maybe google could increase the base storage on the pixel 7 pro or have an improved ultra wide camera either way. Google is going to need to find some feature or series of features to justify the extra price tag associated with the pixel 7. Pro we’d also like to see google introduce longer os update support with the pixel 7 series, when the pixel, 6 and 6 pro were announced, google committed to just three years of updates. Meanwhile, companies like samsung, have committed to four years of os updates surpassing that of the pixel lineup. It’S a little surprising to see google be one-upped in the software department, considering that it is the company that manages android.
However, they can’t turn this around if they could. Just commit to longer os support with this year’s flagships, so we’ve gone over some of the things we want to see from the google pixel 7 and 7 pro. But here is one thing: we really don’t want buggy software, when the google pixel 6 series was released, it wasn’t long before users experienced issues including broken wi-fi, drastically reduced signal strengths devices making calls out of nowhere and don’t forget about the unreliable fingerprint sensor, which was Apparently, due to google’s security algorithm now sure software bugs are a part of life, but for a flagship that has just been released. It’S not going to be a good look for that company.
