GO BIG! TCL 98″ QLED TV

GO BIG! TCL 98

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “GO BIG! TCL 98″ QLED TV”.
Thanks to tcl for sponsoring this video, oh nature, it’s gon na take a break, be outside connect. You know with the outdoors, so this insanely huge thing behind me as tcl’s new 98-inch 4k uhd qled tv, but i’m just going to call it the 98-inch behind me. Uh, it’s got all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a 2022 qlik set things like dolby vision, hdr tons of ports, but its most obvious feature is the size, and i am hoping this video can perspective wise, show the absolute dominance of this set, but is Bigger, actually better uh or is its size. It’S i’m gon na call it its biggest downfall. Let’S talk about it, so i have never seen a tv this size in like a tv format, at least in like a home setting, i’ve seen projectors that are big and i’ve seen giant sets at trade shows, but it’s my first time experiencing uh this big boy.

In person – and it’s something else, so this is tcl’s largest tv they’ve made to date, but it is not their first big tv they’ve been known for making tvs really before big tvs or even a thing in 75 and 85 inches and often times for lower price Than competitors that was sort of tcl sweet spot, so you are getting a jaimonga cinema experience in your home at a relatively affordable price – and i say relatively remember it’s 98 inches here as it is filming. It is 8 500 now competitors, pricing that make 98 inch cube sets can go as high as 15, so take that forever. It’S worth uh but also know tv prices change, seemingly by the minute, so we’ll put a link down below if you’re interested. You can look at the pricing there for most up-to-date, so this 98-inch set and partly wishes. They would have gone the extra two inches for the even triple digit 100, but this 98 inch qled we have here, was announced at ces earlier this year.

We saw it at ces and ces is a gigantic trade show, and i think you can’t really appreciate the i’ll make up. A word can’t appreciate the bigness of this set in a gigantic space like that. But when it’s in a space like this and you’re sitting on a couch looking at it, it’s big, but the box that it came in is like borderline comical.

So this is a photo of me sitting next to it, and i am an average size man for comparison. I’M like five nine, an entree’s picture even does justice to the gigantitude of this box having it set up on our set here even makes this huge wall. Look like a baby wall, so this thing is so big that tcl designed a box to be used as a temporary stand while you put on the leg.

So it is a task for two people, but when it’s set up it is shocking. So the picture goes right to the edge, giving you every bit of those 98 inches and then surprisingly, thin even for a large tv, especially considering it has led panels inside so. Like i mentioned before, this tv is qled. My initial worry with the set was that how things like blooming and contrast would look on such a large set. So when we got this set up and turned it on very quickly, all those worries went away.

So straight out of the box, i was impressed with the picture quality of the tv. Typically, when i set up a new tv, the default picture settings are not usually the best we go in and tweak some settings to brightness contrast, but outside of kind of those things. I need to do that much to be really happy with the picture. In fact, actually i turn the brightness down from its default setting, as this thing gets like cornea, searing bright, and because of that brightness the black levels almost seem perfectly black at first glance.

Due to that contrast, and if you’re looking at a nearly all black screen, you can tell those blacks are really dark gray. But it’s not that often, and if you have a high contrast image on the screen, it’s really hard for me to not think i am looking at just a completely black picture. So with this being q-led, i feel expected there to be some blooming. Maybe not a lot, but at least more than a mini led set, and i did see it, but i saw it sort of rarely. You know i don’t know what kind of magic tcl is doing behind the screen here, literally maybe it’s their aipq engine technology that uses machine learning to intelligently, enhance color, contrast and clarity, or if it’s just that the tv is so large that the local dimming zones Are converting a smaller percentage of the screen section either way the results speak for itself. So to my eye, i’m seeing contrast and black levels on paris and mini led sets that i’ve seen and for a qled set that is incredibly impressive and with it being q-led um you’re, getting the benefits of qlite you’re, getting really poppy punchy colors through that quantum Dot layer over the leds and the color accuracy looks great and holds up right at the peak, brightness plus movies, and shows look absolutely incredible on the set and with the tv being dolby vision, hdr 10 capable it makes a gigantic difference uh.

So i i try as much as i can go out and see many movies, but i can’t always get there, and this gives me as close to that sort of at-home cinema movie experience as i have ever had i get this sort of loss in the image Because it is so big similar to how a movie theater does one last thing, that’s pretty surprising about this set uh was viewing angles now traditionally, with cue light sets as you get further to the edge of the set. Now the picture contrast tends to dim and starts to look really washed out uh with this, though, that was not the case, it had viewing angles that were much further than any other cue light, set that i’ve seen and further than most mini leds that i’ve seen As well the tv this gigantic – it’s not like you’re gon na, have a hard time, seeing it from pretty much anywhere, but the fact you could sit comfortably off to the side not feel like you’re getting less of an experience. Uh was super impressive, so obviously, there’s more to this tv than just like picture quality, and it’s just ginormous size uh. On the back. It’S got four hdmi ports. Two of them are hdmi 2.1 ports that can do 120, hertz, one of which is your e-arc and the other two are capable of 4k uhd, but in 60 hertz and then there’s other io they’re, two usb ports, a coax cable port, 3.5, millimeter headset jack and An optical port, basically, this can handle whatever you want to plug into it and if you want to plug in a next-gen console which something like this, you kind of have to you’ve got the ports to do that and with tcl’s built in gaming mode automatically going To switch over to the latency mode, so your games will feel responsive and smooth and, of course, games, look bonkers on this i mean, if you’re playing any game, the characters are almost life-sized.

It’S a very different experience. Uh. It also has vrr.

So there’s no stuttering or clipping when playing everything just feels again immersive due to its size, and if you want to add to sort of the overall immersion. Tcl also has their own line of sound bars that you can pair with this tv very easily and for using the table top option instead of mounting it. The legs elevate, the tv high enough, so sound bar – can fit nicely under that set. The sound that comes from the tv is fine, not as loud as i probably want, but if you want that extra punch of audio for pairing up with tcl’s alto sound bars is an awesome. A way to go and like a tv like this, like i think, demand, is a good sound.

It’S like going to the gym working on your upper half and then forgetting leg day pair with the sound bar get surround, sounds and avoid chicken legs and, as far as the os is concerned, um use google tv, which has obviously every streaming app. You could possibly want i’ve also seen google tv on more and more tvs lately. So i say: tcl offer a tv os that a lot of people are probably already familiar with at this point and with it being google have all the google things available. You can use the wake word activation phrase and ask the tv to go directly to certain apps or pull up a youtube video.

So it comes with a typical google tv, tcl remote. It works. Well, it’s small uh, it’s light and it’s got all the functionality that you would need and, most importantly, it’s modern. It does not have a number package. The big selling point here is it’s ginormous. If you have the wall space, i think that’s almost all the selling point that you need now. If you look at it just on paper, it’s missing some things that you might want, but sitting here watching content on it.

I wasn’t wanting for absolutely anything. The sheer size of the set makes everything look incredible. The first thing i did was watch sports on it because of who i am as a person we fired up. Some movies played games, it is immersive, it is incredible. The picture is beautiful and the size does not get old if you’ve got the wall space and you have the cash.

This guy absolutely deserves a look, and if you want to get more information on it, put links down below .
