Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Gigabot, the giant 3D Printers – live at Solidworks 3DExperience”.
Tell me who are you and what did you bring to the solid works? 3D experience? We are re3d and we brought our gigabot 4, which is our newest and smallest FFF printer okay. This is your smallest, and this thing is huge. So tell me first off like what size printers do you make if this is your smallest, what kind of stuff do you make? We make machines that print all the way up to 6 feet tall six, our caller exot uh this machine, it’s our standard machine! It’S uh 600 mm Cube volume, so uh you can print uh. A lot of prototype. Uh machine parts is a lot of what people like to do. A lot of Cosplay a lot of art, sculptures, uh, very cool, very cool. So this is just a filament based machine like your regular desktop machine right.
Is there anything fancy about the materials or or is it just the plain filament? It’S uh. It can print your standard filaments that you use on any desktop machine. You have at home. If you have an enclosure, you want an enclosure, you can get one uh, our our hotends go all the way up to 300 C. So that’s fantastic uh. So you said this is your baby and you said you have some that print up to like 6 feet tall, who are most of your customers, like what kind of people buy a machine, a filament machine, that’s 6 feet tall.
We have uh customers in all sorts of Industries, uh the automotive, uh Aerospace, defense, uh, lot of uh universities, um everybody’s interested in trying, instead of having to piece together a bunch of parts uh, it’s nice to have it all fit together. Very nice, okay. One final question: uh about the machines, like you print giant stuff, what’s like something that people don’t think about when you’re printing giant stuff, like people at home, again with just like a a bamboo or a prusa or something what’s something they don’t even think about that.
You have to deal with with these giant machines. Uh I’d, definitely say the thermal expansion. So once you heat everything up, uh, there’s so much aluminum on there that the the surface area uh it it increases.
So you have to account for everything depending on what filament you’re using and how hot you want, your bed uh. You really need to make sure your Hardware is uh align. Oh that’s, interesting! That’S interesting! Okay, okay, that’s cool! That’S cool! All right! Thank you and where can people learn more about re3d? Thank you that .
