Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Gaming Earbuds aren’t stupid after all!”.
You ever just see a product and think that’s a stupid idea and then you’re wrong. That’S what happened to me with these. The Logitech G fits true wireless earbuds. Well, I thought why would you want to have truly wireless earbuds that are aimed at PC Gamers, if you’re sitting at your PC, then why don’t you just use wired earphones or headphones and not have to mess around with charging or anything like that? Well, it turns out. I was wrong because the top comment on the announcement video for these is finally there’s a set made for gamers.
Like me, you know we all got different shaped ear holes. Some people for different reasons want these. I’Ve already hosted a short circuit. Video on a very similar, you might even say the same earphones, they are called The Ultimate Ears fists.
The UE fits and they look very similar. Look at that fun color in there and there’s also a little like click see that on the end nice looking inside. So I made that video – and these are very much the same. They seem to be the same form factor and they have that same see.
This light form technology. It is a moldable, personalizable, ear tip and in that video I said, they’re, probably the most comfortable earbuds that I had ever worn so not mad to see that come to another product, and that’s another great thing about these – is that you know not only do you And I have different ear holes you and you might have different ear holes. For example, my left is a little bit different than my right. It tends to spit out earbuds a little more, so it’s cool to have them customizable, not only to yourself but to all the different versions of you you carry around.
If I remember correctly, I’m not supposed to open this until I’m ready to have these forming to my ear, because the way that the light form Tech works is that it’s exposure to UV that actually initiates the the reaction. So, let’s just set those aside for a second see what else is in the Box? Oh, so this is step two complete light form molding before inserting light speed. Receiver. Oh that’s the other thing.
That’S different about these. It’S not just a re-badging of an existing product. They’Ve imbued these with Logitech light speed for low latency. That’S why these are for gaming.
You can get kills without being killed because of latency. So that’s cool, that’s step, two we’ll do the light form before we do light speed. Now we do already have the app and I am assuming it’s going to walk me through the setup process. Okay, interestingly enough, when you’re ready to begin open the sealed package, you can place your earbuds in the case with the lid open. So it can’t be that time, sensitive uh, sometimes it’d, be like that yeah. I think I can one shot this. Oh God nope do. I have to press the oh, no pressing required and remove them to continue now, let’s get to the fun part you’re, not joking.
Let’S go twist your earbuds into your ear holes find the position that maximizes the base. Are they playing a bass sweep right now there is music playing and there’s just like kind of like kind of bass tone. The fans love my sound effects. They come back from a descriptive audio yeah. That’S definitely how they’re meant to go hold earbuds in place, while, while molding, okay molding the light form, your tips will take about one minute I can’t hold for that long. You’Ll feel I’m getting warmer as they multi your ears.
I hope I don’t get addicted to this. I’M just applying gentle pressure. You know on the twist axis and the in my ear axis ew they got this. Oh, they are warming.
They got this lava. Lamp kind of visualization here, which is kind of grossing me out. Oh yeah, I like this warm sensation, though, when I was a kid I watched my dad do that ear.
Candling thing you put a candle up in your Wheel by your ear and then you roll over and all this Gunk like falls out looked appealing. I Googled it years later. Apparently it doesn’t do, but it looked like it did.

So that’s pretty interesting that that appears to actually work. I don’t want to pull them out just yet, though I think I want to let them cool down a bit, but here’s where it gets different connect to your PC. This actually comes with a little dongle yeah. You see that there’s a charge. Cable too, which is normal stuff, normal earphone, stuff, little little USBC to a charge cable, but they also come with these. So here’s a Type, A dongle and then in case you have type c, there’s just an adapter to go with it, and this is unusual and appreciated, because there’s some desktop machines that will not accept a Bluetooth connection.
It has to be USB. That might be the case for you at work, for example. So this really covers your basis for that for being able to use these, where you want to use them, but also this is what’s going to enable that Lightspeed connection for low latency, so let’s plug it into our personal computer, should we do let’s do Type A We’Re gon na plug this in and play some first person.

I can’t hear you man, I’m in war, okay, now, when I’m playing the game, the interface like, I said, changes so instead of the double tap being play and pause, it becomes open your mic and close your mic for your team members. I guess I can, if I hold this up to the mic.
Oh, oh I wan na. I want you to be able to see an action that I press on the screen and then hear the sound come out so that the audience get a sense of latency. That’S the thing right, that’ll work: can you hear that Andy yeah, another big part of the gaming experience, of course, is going to be the mic quality? If this is actually going to replace your headset, it’s got to be able to sound good for your teammates. You know hi, this is a voice memo, I’m talking through the mic. Now, how do you like it? No, actually, I’m going to take this opportunity to talk about the fit because it feels really good and I never give you a fit test before, but they are just so incredibly in there they’re. So in it it won’t go out if you’re at your hands tying behind your back.
No, I said it like that uh and you we’re challenged to get these out of years. I think you could do it without hitting your head against the wall. That would hurt, it doesn’t sound awesome, it doesn’t sound. It sounds probably like a pretty entry-level headset mic.
It doesn’t sound like you’re, using a nice boom mic or a USB mic, for example, but it’s I guess serviceable and there’s not even any wax on them. They do smell kind of weird actually now I kind of just smell them as a joke, but they the hot plastic. It’S a thing, Andy you’re, making a face. He’S like why not listen to some music as well. These sound pretty good. Now we don’t have any measurements from the labs team, because these wouldn’t seal very well in our head and torso simulator, and so we wouldn’t get accurate measurements, especially in terms of bass where I’m sitting. I think these probably have a little bit of overcooked based. I listened uh to the song that I know pretty well here and there was more thumping on the kick than I’m used to. So I would expect it to be kind of like V be curve shaped, but some people really like having a little more bass, and maybe maybe it’s because they’re tuned for gaming. But let’s see what the app gives us for EQ options. If anything here we go looks like there’s some basic ones: oh God, there’s bass boost on top of that FPS, which actually takes the low end down MOBA. How is that different from FPS, less mid-range and then spoken word like slam, poetry, let’s go to customize and see what it gives us: okay, Five Points of contact better than three, but it’s a cool, looking interface, okay, and can I oh my goodness yeah I can Name it sup King save, and, can I add, more presets, Plus this one next quane cool? You can do more than one at least customizable preset.
Now, in terms of battery life, you can get 10 hours of listening from the buds themselves, plus an additional 12 from the case, if you’re using Bluetooth. Now that figure is actually going to drop bit. This might be counter-intuitive view.
It actually drops if you use the dongle to seven hours on the buds and then eight hours additional from the case. Seven hours sounds okay, but remember we’re trying to replace your gaming headset here, which is either plugged in all the time, because it’s wired or if it’s wireless, maybe it has a bigger battery in these. You might be gaming for longer than seven hours or you might have two gaming sessions and forget to charge these in between so you’re. You are gon na have to manage the battery and keep in mind. You might not get that seven hours if you’re talking as well that that figure is just listening time for 230 dollars. Don’T forget some pretty stiff competition, not just in the truly Wireless uh Spectrum, but also in just the gaming headset space. You’Re definitely have to be able to find things that sound better, but you know you can also just wear these in the gym. They aren’t going to do that with your with your big sennheisers or whatever. So I think that sound wise – they probably aren’t as good as other truly wireless headphones.
That cost this much money now that they sound bad but there’s probably some others that sound better. But the comfort is awesome. It really is great. You feel like you’re, just not wearing anything. The isolation is great.
They don’t need to be active noise canceling with the amount of passive isolation they offer. So I do think they’re worth a look and if you’re interested in the low latency aspect, that is a total bonus. So these are a great all-rounder and definitely worth a closer look from you.
