Galaxy S7 Edge FINAL Review!

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Galaxy S7 Edge FINAL Review!”.
When the samsung galaxy s7 edge was released just six months ago, it set a new standard for what we expect from a flagship smartphone. So welcome to my full review. After six months of having owned, used and abused the samsung galaxy s7 edge, let’s get right into it. With an rrp of 700, the s7 edge is clearly playing no games. Samsung has targeted the smartphone at the very upper echelon of the smartphone market. It’S an ultra premium flagship device, but how does it hold up? The phone is claimed to be made with only the best quality materials, and it definitely feels that way from the metal edge to the corning gorilla glass, 4 front and rear.

It certainly feels high-end. I remember when i first unboxed the smartphone. I pretty much fell in love with it, but i have to say, after having used it for six months now we’re starting to grow apart. Yes, it does grip nicely, but this thing is a gigantic fingerprint magnet. You can pretty much pick the phone up from a brand new state and you’ll start to see the fingerprint straight away.

On top of that, it’s slippery, and it doesn’t matter that it’s covered with corning grille glass 4, because structurally, the smartphone is weak, so weak that, in fact, during the filming of this review, my phone shattered and you’ll probably notice it in some of the shots. It’S really really unfortunate. So all this points towards the phone not really being sustainably usable unless you have a case which is fine by some people but others will just hate it. Moving on the display is absolutely eye-popping.

It combines a resolution of 2560×1440 with samsung super amoled technology, and the results are outstanding. This is one of the best smartphone displays you can buy. The curved edges give it an almost bezel-less look when you’re looking straight on, and that does help to increase immersion somewhat. But apart from that, i couldn’t really find anything useful to do with the edge. Yes, samsung does make its own edge applications, but it’s not something. You can’t do with other smartphones with third-party software, and it’s quite memory intensive on the bright side, since they went full overload with the galaxy s4 samsung has seriously trimmed down the amount of software they’re bundling in with this and they’ve only stuck to the core apps And they have been optimized quite well. Whilst i have to say i’m not a big user of s, health and s voice, i did test them out and they do work as expected. Whilst it won’t be one of the first phones to get android 7.0, we are running android 6.0.1 and a 7.0 upgrade is guaranteed. Nonetheless, even straight out the box on totally stock settings, the galaxy s7 edge flies in terms of the ui performance, and this is not only because touchwiz has been made a lot lighter and more optimized, but also because under the hood, this thing is a monster with An exynos 8890 and four gigabytes of ram it chews benchmarks to pieces scoring 110 000 on antutu it slices through the ui, through internet browsing and even through games, and, as you can imagine, having had the phone for six months now. I’Ve played a fair few titles on it with every single 2d, 2.5 d and 3d game. You can be sure that if it’s not going to run on the s7 edge, it’s not going to run on any other device either. This is the pinnacle of power when it comes to smartphones and combined with that beautiful display. This is undeniably one of the best mobile gaming experiences available. Today, we’ve even got the fastest 4g lte connection, as well as micro sd card support up to 2 terabytes. So you can store as many games as you want, and you shouldn’t really worry about losing signal when you’re playing on top of that the battery is an absolute monster at 3 600 milliamp hours i was easily reaching into the second day. Unfortunately, the s7 edge is just not perfect and one of its big downfalls is this thing right here, the speaker considering it’s made to be a media consumption device.

It was such a disappointment that the s7 edge has such a low volume that it sounds tinny and that it pretty much has no trace of bass whatsoever. So then, we’ve got the camera and with a 12 megapixel sensor and an f 1.7 aperture, the camera is really really good. In fact, you could probably swap it out for any sub 300 pound compact camera and norm would even be able to notice. The pictures it takes are very detailed. It’S really pushing those 12 megapixels to the max. The s7 has a tendency to over expose things, but if you take manual, control and learn to use it properly, you can take some stunning photos that faster past the htc 10 and the lg g5.

The front camera is also great, but the video, although it is sharp at 4k at 30 frames per second – does tend to come out a little bit shaky. We’Ve also got a multi-colored notification led so that changes color. Based on what type of notification you have super useful and really cool, and the fingerprint sensor on this is one of the fastest i’ve ever used. Although i would have preferred a rear placement, it’s not bad, and it’s very quick.

So there we have it guys. That is the s7 edge and yes, it’s a great smartphone. Undeniably, it’s gorgeous to look at it performs fantastically. The screen is top of the line, but it’s not perfect, but unfortunately the design is quite superficial. Samsung have opted for smooth lines and elegant curves over actually strong, build quality, and the speaker is just one big no-no.

Having said that, even six months after its launch, which is a huge amount of time in the smartphone industry, the s7 edge is still one of the best phones. You can get the galaxy note 7, which was expected to actually make this phone redundant turned out to be a very, very similar device, both internally and externally, and the s7 edge actually has a larger battery than it. So, overall guys a great smartphone when it was released and now i thoroughly recommend it and thanks a lot for watching – and i will see you next time – you .
