Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Exclusive: Pixel 8a specs revealed | BIG upgrades on the way!”.
Google pixel AA might only be a couple of months away now and we’ve got some major upgrades that might make this one of the best when it comes to Google pixel, a series – phones, they’re tared, as one of the best budget – Android phones – that you can get Your Hands-On, starting from that pixel 3A, going up to the latest Google pixel 7A and last year’s pixel 7A, really closed the Gap by giving us a 90 HZ display, and this year we’ve got some major exclusive news, which means that the pixel 8A is getting even Better and the video is based on a report from Android authority contributor, CA voova, with The Spits coming from a source with inside Google and we’ll start with the display itself. While the display is size and type is saying exactly the same so staying at 6.1 in and that OLED display the big change this year is that it won’t be 90 HZ anymore. We’Re going to see a 120 HZ panel on the new Google pixel 8A on the display we’re going to get a bit of a jump in its brightness as well. So, on the pixel 78 last year we had a 1,000 it Peak brightness, but this year on the pixel 8A, it’s going to match that of the Google pixel 8 and it’s going to go all the way up to 1,400 nits and whilst the displays might be Staying the same at 6.1 in that corner radius has changed ever so slightly. The corner radius and its native resolution on the pixel 7A was 47 pixels, where on the pixel 88, it’s going to go to 128 pixels. These displays for the pixel 88 are going to be sourced from two manufacturers, so Boe and Samsung.
These two manufacturers make the displays for the pixel 8 as well, so it means that the difference between the displays from the pixel 88 and the pixel 8 are really not going to be that much at all the design of that pixel 88. We still have no idea what it might look like, but we’re expecting it to look a little bit like the Google pixel 8 and we’ve seen some renders on these already from on leaks. That shows us that it will look a little bit like that.
Pixel 8, but for some reason it does look a little bit more rounded. The other major upgrade that is driving the pixel AA when it arrives in a couple of months. Time is going to be that processor and the pixel AA will be getting that tensor. G3 chip, the tensor G3 chip is, of course, the same processor that is found in that Google pixel 8 and the Google pixel 8 Pro, and this gives us an idea that we could be seeing some AI features coming to the pixel AA as well.
With that upgraded G3 chip, the Highlight, though, is definitely the improved. Cpu and Google has now dropped the ancient cortex X1 and the cortex a55 CES in favor of those newer, faster and more power efficient, 2022 cores. The tens G3 on the pixel 88 also brings other improvements over that G2 as well.
A newer GPU that new Samsung modem and support for av1 encoding up to 4K 60. Just like last year’s pixel 7A, the pixel 8A will use a slightly different version of the G3 than the pixel 8 and the pixel 8 Pro. But in practice the differences really shouldn’t be huge and the chip should be a massive upgrade on what we saw from last year.
Another feature on the pixel 8A that we’re going to see is display port coming to the device. The Google pixel 8 series introduced that display port output when at the time of launch it actually wasn’t usable. But Google has finally enabled it in its limited form in a recent Android 14 Beta release, but it does mean that we are going to see this. Also coming to the pixel 8A, when we finally see it, which could be in a couple of months Time, One spec that we’re not expecting to changed this year on the Google pixel 88 is the cameras. Now these are going to stay exactly the same as Google pixel 7A last year and last year on the 7A. They upgraded the cameras for the first time since the Google pixel 3A.
So this is not a surprise, however, even though that camera Hardware on the Google pixel 88 is staying exactly the same with that 64 megapixel main sensor. We are hoping that, because of that tensor G3 chip, we might see some really good software improvements to the camera, which make it just a little bit better when we finally see the pixel 8A drop and we’re able to get it in our hands. Hopefully, more people are going to be able to get hold of this as well, because it’s availability is going to be a little bit better than it was on the Google pixel 7A. So, for example, that was only available in 21 countries worldwide, where we’re hoping that this Google pixel AA is going to be available in just a few more and we’ve seen some electronic warranty labels for the following countries as well.
So Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania lvia Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, which means that hopefully countries that W able to get the pixel 7A are going to be able to get this year’s pixel 8A. If you’re wondering, though, how much you’re going to have to spend to pick up the Google pixel 8A, then actually at the moment we’re not 100 % we’re just guessing in speculating how much that might be. But if we go based off last year’s pixel 7A, then we’re looking at around about $ 499, but that’s still yet to be confirmed, and we have no idea exactly how much that price might be. Let me know, though, what do you think of the Google pixel 8 and remember? Nothing is actually confirmed until it is confirmed by Google, but we only have a couple of months to wait to see what that final product of the AA looks like. If you want to read that full report then head to the link in the description, if you want to subscribe to the Android authority YouTube channel, then that would be great and then we will see you later.
