Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Elephone S7 Review – AN S7 EDGE FOR $200???”.
So lots of guys, mysterious boss here and welcome to my full review of the elephone s7 and to be clear, this has to be one of the most interesting smartphones of 2016, where that being said, rascal started so to get one thing all the way this smartphone Is an almost direct copy of the galaxy s7 edge, but considering this phone comes in at 215 dollars? Is that such a bad thing well, at least when you take it out the box? I have to say I was really impressed. Whilst it does attract a lot of fingerprints, it feels very sturdy: it’s a slim device and it’s got a nice well-balanced weight to it, so it feels premium in the hands. But unfortunately the company have tried to be a little bit too. Creative they’ve tried to combine the styles of smartphones, like the s7 edge, with their continuous smooth, basalis design and ferns like the HTC 10, which have a sham fit edge and ergonomically speaking. The result doesn’t work too well.
It just ends up digging into your hand. Something quite surprising is that, even though the bezel is so slim, you’ve got no chance of reaching the top corner with one hand. Interestingly enough, there’s actually no back hole, menu, buttons, everything’s done with the home button, and it sounds a little bit counterintuitive. But when you get used to it, you pick up speed quite easily. The phone runs a pretty stop looking version of Android 6.0, and it’s not really that exciting. There isn’t too much unusual going on here, but at the same time that means it’s pretty suitable for Android purists out there, the skin the elephone is put on top of the stock experience is so subtle that most the time you won’t be able to tell it’s There they fiddled with a couple of the icons and added a few useful things in the settings.
Things like intelligent gestures and things like the ability to turn on and non physical navigation bar, oh yeah, and there’s no bloatware. So then we’ve got the display and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, we’ve got a pretty sharp 1080p 5.5 inch screen with good colors, but on the other hand, they use a lot of over sharpening, and you can definitely tell with high resolution wallpapers I’m talking about the viewing angles they top out at about 165 degrees. So it’s kind of lower than your typical smartphone and when you’re using the phone, it feels like there’s a lot of distance between where your finger touches and the actual display components just like it does.
With the original s7 edge. The curved display aspect to the phone works awesome. It gives it some character, some personality, a differentiating factor and it’s quite fun to use now. The camera on paper at least doesn’t really sound that exciting, but it takes strangely detailed photos.
It’S got a good colour representation. They actually come out really quite vivid, but again they do look over sharpened on the phone’s display something the s7 does really well is use its wide aperture to get great blur in your photos. Take this, for example.
Unfortunately, the shutter time is so long, but if you move your phone, even a tiny bit, you get something that looks more like this. With enough lighting, landscape shots come out, fine and the s7 copes pretty well with HDR scenarios. Unfortunately, video tops out at 1080p and the electronic image stabilization on offer really could be better.
Have a processing power aspect to the phone is where things get really interesting, because we’ve got a Decker, cornelio x20, combined with 4 gigabytes of RAM, and that’s fast, I mean you’re scoring 85,000 on two, whilst that is definitely lower than the s7 edge. That’S hardly the phones, competition. Unfortunately, though, more due to poor a software optimization than anything else, the phone doesn’t really reaches potential with a lot of games which honestly the processor could chew through it, just really doesn’t perform that great they’ll sort of chug along at about 20 frames per second consistently, Which kind of takes you out the experience a bit that kind of extra immersion you get from the bezel asinus kind of loses out with the performance. The speakers are actually pretty similar to that of the s7 edge, and the question really is: if that’s more, of an achievement or a fault of the phone, because, to be honest, those aren’t great.
Whilst it’s not the worst, I’ve heard, the sound is tinny and not particularly loud the battery life, not really a strong point of the phone, considering the bezel as display all the version of Android and powerful components. It doesn’t push much past a day. Something which is nice to see is dual SIM, and one of those sims can be swapped for a 128 gig SD card, but unfortunately, something I did notice is that the tactile engine inside the phone responsible for vibrations is really not that high quality. It feels very springy and a little bit awkward to touch so guys.
There you have it the elephant s7, whilst in terms of its appearance, is designed, it’s really impressive, you’re getting four $ 215, something that feels like a flagship device. Having said that, comparing it to the original s7 edge and it’s a true case of you – get what you pay for, because in just about every single aspect, the phone falls short. Even if we compare it against other similar lesser brand smartphones, it still doesn’t really fight its corner because phones, like the redmi note, 4, offer better performance at about 50 to 60 dollars less so guys there we have it.
