Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “DF Robot: Drive the Future”.
So my name is hector saldana and uh. I’M an electrical engineer for df robot df robot is based in shanghai and it’s an open source hardware facilitator. We provide a lot of arduino-based uh products, a lot of robotics platforms, sensors, servos motors sure, uh cables. Just about anything that you might need for a robotics project, a lot of our projects are open, sourced, uh almost immediately and what it is. We want to encourage the maker community, open source community to uh, contribute and to develop new products or help them with their projects.
So we also help people develop their own projects, um and so all of our uh. A lot of our electronics are uh arduino based. So that people can just plug and play, we provide a lot of sample code for them so that they don’t have to waste a lot of time, learning to use it. They can just plug it in put download the code and they can understand how it works. Almost immediately and then obviously build from there, for whatever their specific need might be, vortex is a new robot that we’re going to launch on kickstarter here in the few months um and it’s a um a learning platform for for children, uh.
So it’ll come pre-programmed with a couple of games on it and then they can build upon that or build their own little sketches for it, and that way they can learn to program on on these robots. So we came to make it fair because we want to build awareness for our brand, so a lot of people already know us in the market, but we find that every time we come to maker faire, we meet new people, new faces that haven’t really heard of Us they’ve seen our products but they’re, not aware of where they’re coming from so they’ll see our black robot platforms and they’ve even have them, and they got them on amazon or somewhere, and they don’t know that they’re actually df robot products, and so we like to Meet our customers and interact with them. One of the products that i’m excited about again is the vortex and we’re also working on a few other robotic platforms.
So our platforms are out there we’re actually working on enclosures on them and there’s uh. In the background. There’S a shell prototype for one of them uh, and what it is it’s just a shell. You can actually buy it from us and we’ll 3d print it for you or if you already have a 3d printer, you can just download the design, files and print it yourself, and so you can make this platform. That looks generally a little bit more bare bones. Look a little more like a complete robot, so in my maker faire, one of the things that i really like uh to see – or that really gets me excited – is all the 3d printer technology. Everybody that’s coming out with their own 3d printers or you know the different types of technology, so uh added layer or dlp. All that i love to see all that i’ve seen a few people that are using uh syringes for the chocolate or even clay another guy.
That’S doing uh some fusion pla fusion, so a lot of innovation uh not only in the 3d printers themselves, but also in the accessories for them. You .
