Dancing Delta Bots

Dancing Delta Bots

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Dancing Delta Bots”.
My name is sarah petkas and behind me i have 84 individual delta robots that were 3d printed and hand built okay behind me, um right now they are running individual, like lighting patterns and um, pre-programmed, motions and they’re kind of cycling through and just sort of doing Their kaleidoscope, you know, patterns just to create a cool visual effect for people to see. Um we’ve been working on the project for two years now: um for about a year and a half, we’ve been 3d printing, uh delta, robot parts and like hand assembling them on our couch and everything and um everything was more or less built at home. So the original intention for this project was that we fill an entire room um with these robots to kind of simulate, robotic grass or like a field of light, that people could interact with um right now the installation isn’t interactive, like they’re just doing free preset, pre-programmed Motions but um we’d like to get either an xbox kinect involved or a leak where people can actually come up and sort of feel empowered by controlling the robots like they’re sort of a prosthetic for human expression. Um there’s a couple places uh. I document everything that i do on my personal blog, which is roboticarts.wordpress.com, and i put updates up there. Probably every you know two to three weeks: i’ll explain what we’re doing, whether it’s you know, building boards or building robots or coming up with some new cool way of interacting with them. Making them do something interesting, um and then the other place. You could find out information is at uh robotarmy.com, that’s robotdasharmy.com! .
