Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “CES 2015 Meccano Robotics Kit”.
Hey this is Mike with make it we’re here. At CES, 2015 hang out the spin master booth with the the new meccano mccann. Would this is Rick who’s? Helping us give a quick overview of what this does Numa can wade is all about yeah great thanks Mike. This is a mechanoid g15 KS he’s an interactive buildable robot. So those are you familiar with the rector set meccano actually own director set, and so what we’re doing with Makano you build it up, and you actually program your own robot, it’s interactive, it tells you jokes, it does a bunch of movement for you.
It’S got over. Thousands of phrases pre-programmed in it that you can interact with so one of the things I grew up with erector sets I’ve built, Ferris wheels and all sorts of circus playgrounds. But this is really interesting because you need take something: that’s a venerable brand, 100-year history and now we’re getting into the robotic age. That’S pretty cool exactly so so now these days, kids know everything about a software engineering and mechanical engineering Electrical Engineering.
So we want to give that into one package here, so basically you can build anything you want. We’Ve got an example of a little bit of a dinosaur here, I’ll quickly, trying to show you. This is a rebuild of mechanoid g15 KS into a Dinobot. So what we really love about, the Meccano brand is they’re able to build and rebuild whatever you want from the parts yeah and that’s what I always loved. I mean, I think, probably most of the things that I built weren’t supposed to be airplanes and race cars, but that’s what they turned into because Lars yeah everybody loves they’re, playing some race, cars and now robots, hopefully right absolutely so um. This is you guys just launched this, so this is actually coming out in fall. 2015, okay, it’ll be available major retailers for 399, and it’s got some pretty good, pretty good smarts in here right it does.
This is the mecca brain. So actually, I kind of show you as far as what we talked about programming, what we have developed as a limb programming to learned, intelligent motion. So all these servos here we’ve got eight servos they’re, all smart servos.
If you see here and I push the button, it actually will be able to record hey Mike how’s it going records. The sound as well might not be able to hear it as well. Here at CES, i press the red button again.
It prompts me to play the button and there you have, that actually is recording down animation, which you can save that as a voice record file. So this is all voice recognition as well, so you can tell them to move forward, move backward and and do whatever you want pretty much from there. That’S great.
So it’s your training, the electronics, through the force, feedback and all sorts of technical elements and aspects. Exactly exactly yeah, it’s just a ton of fun to play with really hoping to see what the community can do from it as well. Everything is open source, so we’re really happy all right cool.
