Building My Dream Racing Sim - GT Omega Prime Cockpit

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Building My Dream Racing Sim – GT Omega Prime Cockpit”.
What is up folks how’s it going. This watch hope you guys are all doing well now. Something that you guys may or may not know about me is that i’m, a huge car and racing enthusiast and one of my biggest dreams of all time was to have a proper racing, simulator and finally do a setup that encompasses the process of creating an ultimate Racing simulator not on an unlimited budget but on a decent budget, and thankfully i’m now finally getting that opportunity to create that sim racing setup of my dreams, starting with perhaps probably the most important foundation piece of any good racing sim, which is the cockpit itself now Gt omega has been creating racing cockpits for almost 10 years now they kind of specialize in kind of lower end to mid-range, cockpit, designs, attachments and accessories for racing simulators, but they just came out with their premium product called the prime cockpit. This is a extremely heavy duty frame, comprised of 160 by 40 millimeter aluminum profiles that incorporates a modular design that allows for a great level of adjustability and customization that allows you to fully utilize the specific components and attachments to make the ultimate racing sim. Now a word of caution when you get the prime cockpit, it comes fully disassembled in two large heavy cumbersome boxes again: you’re dealing with super heavy duty, extruded aluminum construction, which is not going to be as light and as easy to move around. As many of the two base more budget friendly cockpits out there – and it took me almost seven hours to actually fully assemble the cockpit but in the process of creating it, you see how adjustable everything is. Basically, these little inbound rails in the extruded aluminum allows you to basically adjust the mounting point of every piece of hardware by the millimeter and starting from the wheel deck, which is made out of heavy duty carbon steel. You can adjust the exact height as well as the angle of your steering wheel, specific to your preferences. The wheel deck is also robust enough, where you can connect it to really any kind of consumer grade, steering wheel.

That uses a built-in amount like the logitech 923 that we’re using over here, but it also has pre-drilled holes for popular direct drive, wheels like from fan attack and other manufacturers. Furthermore, you find the same level of customization and adjustability on the shifter mount, which can be mounted on the left or right hand, side and thanks to the fact that you’re using this extruded aluminum frame that allows for all of these different mounting points. You can easily attach future accessories and attachments as you see fit. Furthermore, the gt omega prime also allows for a pedal plate with multiple different height adjustments, as well as different levels of angle attack. So you can find that ideal position for your pedals. The pedal plate itself has a lot of pre-drilled holes as well as allows for sliding attachments, so you can easily make it fit with any kind of pedals that are available out there for any kind of racing sim. Now you can opt to either get the cockpit by itself and then provide your own racing seat, since it has universal attachment points or you can get a seed supplied by gt omega. We have the rs 6 seat over here.

It’S an ergonomic bucket style racing seat has adjustability for both reclining as well as sliding, so you can find the perfect seating position based on your anthropometry. The faux leather-like material is made out of reinforced pvc, which is durable. It also has a decent amount of foam. Padding and bolstering so you can easily sit on this thing for hours at a time without getting too fatigued now, due to the fact that we have an all metal construction and as long as you have everything fastened and tightened correctly, you’re gon na have an extremely Stable stiff platform that will be able to comply with the most powerful force feedback system that the industry has to offer.

I remember back in the day when i connected my steering wheel that had a decent amount of force feedback onto my regular computer desk, everything would rattle and shake and definitely distract from the driving experience will never happen with a cockpit like this. As long as again, you have everything tightened correctly, it’s going to really comply with a very powerful force, feedback system and you’re, never going to have any kind of annoying rattling sounds or extraneous vibrations that are not supposed to be there in the first place. Furthermore, if you’re going to enhance the force feedback system with a transducer or butt kicker, you’re also going to have that rigidity to comply with those external vibrations as well. Now so far, i’ve set up the cockpit with the logitech at 923 pedals and steering wheel. I don’t have a shifter at this point because uh most of the games that i’m playing i’m either shifting through the paddles or not even shifting at all, since that’s kind of the modern way that racing is going towards anyways. Now the g923 has true force, which is the big upgrade coming from the g29. It’S basically a force feedback system, that’s connected directly to the in-game simulation engine and physics, to generate force feedback with a higher level of dynamics, fidelity and real-time response that wasn’t previously seen on the g29 there’s also a closed-loop motor control, which allows for the right amount Of torque being applied to the wheel based on the in-game physics, again, adding a little bit more sense of realism. Furthermore, the pedals on the g923 are very similar to the previous generation g29 and uh, just the overall general experience, and everything like that is extremely similar.

As well, if you guys are interested in a direct comparison between the previous generation logitech wheel, definitely let me know – and i would love to make that video, but in the meantime this is basically the setup for the cockpit in terms of displays. I’M testing out the 4k projector and it looks really awesome. It’S an awesome experience to have that massive 120 inch screen, which is a probably uh, the best experience you’re going to get out of either the playstation 5 or the xbox series x, which does work with the logitech 923.. I’Ve also configured a triple monitor, pc uh configuration using nvidia surround and a lot of popular racing.

Sims go down this route because it gives you a more panoramic surrounding kind of immersive feel which is typically what you’re going to get when sitting inside a car and uh. Definitely i like this approach is a little bit less practical, because it’s going to take a lot of space and you’re going to need to find special amounts for the triple monitors and to have a dedicated pc for the racing. Sim might be a little bit of a challenge, but we’re gon na do some work and make things happen.

Uh we’re gon na be experimenting with some other hardware, for this racing sim so definitely stay to the channel big thanks to gt omega as well as logitech. For providing this gear and making this content possible in the first place and even bigger, thank you to you guys for supporting the channel, subscribing and liking the video we’ll see you real soon in the next one and take care .
