Build a War of The Worlds Tripod From Junk

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Build a War of The Worlds Tripod From Junk”.
This is caleb with make. Sometimes i get to make really cool stuff. My friends give me a hard time, because i have cool tools like this really fancy 3d printer. So for this project, i’m going to challenge myself to just use stuff that i found at a cheapo dollar store like this broken squirt gun that hasn’t even been opened yet and some toys and some of these thingy, my jigs. So what i’m going to build this time is a lamp for my workbench that looks like a tripod from war of the worlds. I love the tripods and the newest one, and i could print out an exact replica, but that wouldn’t be very fun.

Would it so? What i’m going to do is i’m going to build one with junk i’m going to try to keep my budget below 25 about 12. In so far, we’ll see what happens. Let’S get started.

I just cut pieces off and hot glued them together to get the shapes. I wanted, after that, a quick coat of spray paint made. It look nice and pretty and black, and then i stuck the legs in and a few extra wires for details crammed a flashlight in it, and i was done so here it is. It ended up costing about thirty dollars after a trip to the hardware store to get the cool spray paint that works on plastic in these metal legs.

The flexible blue plastic legs. I used before look really goofy, so i picked this stuff up and the most expensive part was the spray paint. I think it turned out pretty cool.

Now again, i could use my fancy 3d printer to make an exact duplicate of what was in the movie, but i think it’s kind of fun to maybe wing it and show that you don’t need the fanciest tools to make some cool stuff. This was just a dremel tool, a hot glue gun and about thirty dollars worth of junk. It still needs, maybe a few modifications or tweaks to make it just right.

Maybe a coat hanger through these legs to make them stiffer and easier to adjust. But i think i like it .
